  • i donot know why did you say like that???(pls donot be rude)

first of all regarding that sprocket thing, i never said about any calculations that company does and are carried out, i just mentioned the sprocket teeths..

and for increased top end i was talking about top speed, and for your kind information the UG4 has a far better top speed than yours..

donot confuse others and post anything which you yourself donot like to listen from anybody else...

and regarding that orkut gyan , i didnot even once opened that website in my life tillnow...
and i donot have ORKUGT gyan, itz from my experience and facts i have read..

pls donot talk untill you correct your own figures and good by\e!!!!!

wat are the negative changes in engine in exceeding the speed limit(75km/hr)?

      I have clocked 97km/hr in ma bike..Now i have completed 1788Km's..
I dont think there wil be much problems in ripping the bike rarely..I hope so

      • Hello guys.. me not been posting for long.. hmmm..

Just a small recap - Got the UG-IV on the 1st of June 2009.. so it been 3 months and 25 days now since me been with ma bike

Clocked 5200 km on the odo.. 3 free services over.. 3rd service done 2 weeks back

I use the bike for daily office commuting and have also been out on few rides during the weekends..

-- Bike's good and comfortable for city ride.. but gets a little uncomfortable after long rides (read 300km plus)

Mileage is around 38 - 40 kmpl... yeah I said 38 kmpl.. b'lore traffic plus I ride it a little rash..

Don't wanna quote the speed that I'd seen on my odo here.. had done that few posts back and then seen few guys questioning and arguing.. so don't want that to happen again..

Facing a problem recently, the gear shifting feels very hard.. difficult to find neutral while riding... Got it checked on Friday.. the verdict was that the gear shifter needs to changed but the svc was out of stock
        So waiting for it..

        hmmmm..
        > Fuel -- Shell for the past 2000 km
        > Engine Oil -- changed during all the 3 services with whatever the svc
        provided
        > No performance mods done..
        > Sticker - White rim strips (pic posted awhile ago)

well UG$ parts are not yet comed to service centres, my engine mounting bolt was broken by SC guy while tightening, i had to search the whole ity including all bajaj SC and bajaj dealer too, but didnot found that bolt, now i had fitted a thinner diameter bolt in place of it bought it from hardware shop...

i m really dissappointed from bajaj's parts quality..

              • Firstly, a UGIII 100/90 tyre has lower height than a UGIV 120/80 tyre. Thus, the UGIV is taller geared in this aspect. (by 6.66 %)

Secondly, UGIII, 43/15 = 2.86 and UGIV, 39/14 = 2.78. Thus, UGIII is taller geared in this aspect. (by 2.8 %)

In the end, UGIV has taller gearing compared to UGIII. Hence, it should have higher top speed, provided 5th gear is the same on both.

so no sense of talkin about topspeeds, the speedos have huge errors that keeps on building as the speed of bike increases.

so at speedometer reading of 132(as mentioned by members here) in UG4 you are actually doing 115-117kmph.. that is the truth whether we believe or not..

He is putting it up as a statement as if he has done some research on it... Some newbies who are new to XBHP might pick up wrong info from his post, so i replied that way, Anyways, i'm sorry if i sounded very rash ..
Lets keep this thread to share info about P180.. I see lots of OT and nothing valuable in this thread nowadays.

                  @abhi
I know that it'll be very exciting for the few months of ownership but Think before you post anything.. you are posting very actively which I appreciate but posting Wisely will make this thread much more usefull, If u have some doubts then post it as a query and there are lots of experts who can clarify it, Dont make statements which will confuse all Laymans.. I'm sorry if i sounded rude, But I want to make XBHP a better place as everybody knows its not ORKUT...

by the way,my bike is loosing its shine bcoz i have to keep it in the sun as there is no shelter here at my college..,princi is doing some serious developments to the coll
iam using F1 wax ,but the shine fades away after 4-5 days, and agin i have to apply...is there no permanent solution to this?

                      • just a little summary of my yesterday's 150kms trip. to narmada river
no pics as i forgot to take camerra
                        started at 7:00 am
normal speed= 60-70kmph and 80kmph(very rarely on down slopes)..
the road was full of greenery

reached the destination at 9:00 AM 70KMS

                        RETURN

                        STARTED AT 11:00 AM

                        NORMAL SPEED= 80kmph-95kmph(rarely)

topspeed attained on a open 4 lane road was 115kmph (with a lot of throttle left)..

after ride i felt tappets needs to be set bike,as the bike was making weried tak-tak noise from engine so,..
i got my tappets set finally after a lot of SC up-down's..

this time they did it by feeler guage and now the bike seems to be alright..
