The only and most bothering issue i'm having in my bike is handling wobbling which tends to increase with a pillion.
Anyone out here with similar issues?
yeah mee too have it at the rear side, but i noticed it after second service. i checked it at mrf showroom and a local mech, the mrf guy said no prob, but the local guy said its the fault of tyre, the tyre rubs off in such a pattern

Its the Linkage Rod for keeping the rear brake drum in place

The leak is causing due to increased compression.

          • Guys , I have a CBZ-X with me with 47K kms on the ODO , not mine exactly but one of my best buds ... Has a lot of sentimental value attached to it , so we do not want to get rid of it .

            Brief History ,

            DOP : July 08
            ODO : 47674kms

A complete workhorse of a bike it was , ran absolutely trouble free all this time , took all the abuse thrown at it with ease , abuse as in it took three people on board many times , sometimes it has taken four also ( I know it's not safe , but circumstances were such ) .

            1st Breakdown ( March 2011 )

On the way to pondicherry , we heard a wierd rattling coming from the engine , took it to HH showroom and as usual they needed a couple of weeks to look at it , I mean we are on a ride from Bangalore to Pondicherry and that's the best they could give us ... so took it to a mech right opposite the showroom , he has a look , the valves were worn out ... replaced the valves and it was alright . All for one day . by that evening it was back to the old rattle .

left pondicherry at 2:00am back to bangalore keeping the bike at 30kmph because it felt like it would die any moment , we made it to thiruvannamalai which is about 170kms from Bangalore before the bike gave up . luckily there was a mech nearby who specializes in enfields . he opened it up once again and found the entire drivetrain damaged , we had replaced the oil at pondy and about 100kms later it was dry ... NO oil ... , hunt around for parts and the mech also sees the bore kit and piston busted , so we spent a whole 9K to get it fixed , the oil pump was also not working ... we fixed everything and the bike was running full tilt again , had no problems thereafter ... did a lot of trips in between and there was absolutely no issue .

Fast forward to Feb 2012 ,

On a ride to hogenekkal we notice white fumes coming from the exhaust and bike choking above 80kmph ... that ride we somehow made it back with the bike in one piece , next day at the local mech , we have another set of busted bore and piston kit on our hands ... alright , we replaced it again , this time it lasted a day and it was leaking oil through the head , mech says the gasket has not been seated correctly so it is leaking , we get a new gasket and fix it and still it lasts only one day ... it is still leaking oil , the bike has been parked ever since in a state of shambles and we really want to get it back up and running , any ideas to why it is still leaking oil ?

              oil change every 2500 kms
all body pannels incuding tank replaced due to major crash of the bike
tyres changed twice first time mrf meteor, next time it was pirelli scorpion and now its michelin sirac
due to unavailability of air filter, i had to install K&N. this also resulted in change of carburettor - I installed Bs-29 carb, increased the copression, got the head ported.
the cylinder head cover gasket was replaced 15 times. but still the leak is not stopping. maybe there is some defect in the head but the service center guys say its my rough use thats causing the problem
other than the above and fuel, no other expenses.

infact to be honest, the K&N and my rough riding style is taking its toll on the bike and i may need a block piston replacement soon...

btw, all the maintainance for the bike since its last free service was done by me so that the service guys dont screw up anything
How did you bump up the compression??? AFAIK Just shave the head and replace the gasket and everything will be ok.

Rough riding doesnt mean that you'll have to replace your cylinder kit. The worst case scenereo would be that you'll have to replace your piston rings.

I think you would've already checked the following?
                Shockabsorber Hard/Soft adjustment
Swing arm bushes/bearing (sorry, you already checked that!)
Shock absorber mounting nuts, if they are fitted in right torque(courtesy: Pinaki sir)
                Tyres inflation.

Why don't you try to test-ride a new Xtreme from show room/friends to check how you feel about it?

                • today i went to varkala ~4 kms, i had a pillion on back
i took a U turn and got in the middle of the road,
instead of wait for the vehicles coming from back to pass by,
i tried to accelerate quickly, ie i opened throttle almost full (80~90%) it gave a sudden pickup for a sec or 2 the then it reduced like its not responding to the throttle the sound was different,

then i closed throttle completely and accelerate slowly but not too slowly and the it gave nice pick up.

Actually it was a climb to a pretty good height and we two are pretty over weighted

                  what might be the reason

                  • [QUOTE=abhisheklalnediya;796951]what if the milage is 45km/l; that it runs 85+5=90 kms on 2l petrol, if some dirt goes in the petrol tank, it may block the bottom section where the petrol should drain if the valve is put to on. so when u put it to the reserv position, the petrol in on section drains through the reserve.[/Qoute]

That may be the reason and one day after it hit reserve i immediately refilled a litre of petrol and the bike ran upto 47 kmpl if there was a blocking don't you think the bike would have hit reserve immediately again??

The shock absorber, swing arm bush, bearing etc are already replaced and all the necessary points are lubed.

Now I think your bike is having some manufacturing defects which cannot be rectified by any mechanic.

So, point out this manufacturing defect and ask for a replacement of the bike or refunding of the money spent to buy it including the registration charges and road tax.

Then select another CBZ Xtreme which never jerks.

Do not expect the riding comfort of a luxury car from a bike.

as u filled the petrol immediately, the filled petrol will be above reserve+block position so u used the filled petrol completely before hitting reserve+block again.

if u have block in that drain pipe, the total effect will be u have a larger reserve capacity.

if block is ur problem, u have a block near 1.8~1.9l region

i said it may be the reason, have some friends ho have this issue.

i'm talking abt the block in the longer pipe,

yes!! experienced the same many times...they are so dangerous if there is some amount of sand and in wet conditions if i don't brake properly it tends to skid..but for strange no one bothers to change the tyres i find everyone using the stock tyres and even the unicorn has the same tyres if am not wrong and can a larger size TT be fit into xtreme?

I want to upgrade rear tyre to 110/90 tubeless,is that dunlop 110 tyre a tubeless??pls confirm. And yes 110 will be a direct fit to xtreme, whereas 120 requires minor mod in chain case cover if i'm not wrong.
