    Thanks
    Hey satisfied Hunk owner,

Setting idle RPM is simple and you can locate the screw just under the black carburetor cover. You can twist it with your hand, turning one way will increase rpm and the reverse will decrease. You can refer the manual and set it.
If idle RPM in cold start is 1k it will shoot up to 1400-1500 once the engine becomes hot, if that is your case, you don't have to change it.

    • Hey SatSon,
Stop worrying and enjoy your ride man! Just overlook all the problems you're facing, rip it hard, commute, tour, race and enjoy!

Remember, it is a 2nd hand commuter bike after all which you bought! Not a superbike!
Finish it off and get a new ride! Hehe!!

No worries yaar, was just kidding.
I got my bike whichwas just 3.5 years old at 1/3rd of the price of new one!
I can fix the minor issues, fill it and forget it !

Even if the HUNK bashers call it a commuter, I would say its more than a commuter any day ! I guess you also do.

          • Incline+Crouching, I've touched 119 on the 2011 Hunk. Only once though and from what I noticed, bike always seems a lot smoother after a good rip!

Anyway, coming back to what I think is my first post after being a guest for so long, will the Clip-Ons of the new CBZ fit the Hunk? From what I observed, the base T-Plate looks the same and the clip ons bolt onto the Front Suspension directly. I also wanted to change the Foot rests to the ones on the new CBZ, look a lot more classy!
Are both these mods possible? And any idea about the cost?

incline.that has to be a slope.
yeah it seems lot smoother after a rip but if you rip constantly harshness will creep in.
now if the fork diameter of hunk and cbz matches and the base t-plate looks same then give it a try.a pair of clip-ons comes with in 2500-3000 rs i guess, changing footrest will be a easy job.
now seriously you should have bought cbz at the first place.
and the question remains why do i race?
every finishing line is the begining of a new race.

              • Haha yes, slope. And buying the CBZ was not really an option, the CBZ was launched way after the refreshed Hunk. I bought the Hunk in 2011 January. So far it's been 16 months of happy and safe riding.
And regarding the fork sizes, it is the same I am almost certain. Most vital components are shared between the two. Almost like unidentical twins. :P Any major advantages with Clip-Ons? Is changing them a DIY?

It performs best Above 40-50 Kmph. Such a smooth and stable ride. One thing i notice in most of the old cbz's is that their engine sound is almost zero. They produce such a smooth sound that u almost have no idea whether its engine is running or not. I guess its all about time, isnt it ??

Get a good aftermarket shop,he will be able to tell whether replacement is possible or not. Clipon costs around 2-2.5K. footrests 150rs each. CBZ"s front footrest are spring loaded, dont know about HUNK's. If u cant find footrest of CBZ,get RTR/ZMR's. both are almost the same.

Apart from looks, one advantage i feel is that if u have a fall, one side will be replaced unlike the whole ROD in normal handlebar. But i guess Handlebar rod cost less than a Split handle Bar .

No, footrests are not spring loaded. And the new CBZ and ZMR have the same footrests and same clip-ons as well. Need to try this out sometime. But will the height of the handlebar remain the same of close to the what the Hunk is with the tube handlebar?

I also read that due to weight being shifted forward a little bit, the bike may handle better. True?

                    • Some DIYs

Guys, I was going through the thread and found that quite a few of us did contribute to the thread in the following areas:
                      • Headlights
                        Misc Mods
                        Tyres
                        Engine Oils
                        Electricals
                        etc.

Why not make a separate thread in the DIY section only for Xtreme and the Hunk? Let us not make it a general discussion thread. Only a problem solving thread especially dedicated to DIYs related to these 2 bikes.

We can scavenge through the existing thread in the Ownership Experience sub-forum and post links (of images and page nos.) that pertain to the 2 jewels of Hero.

                      Further suggestions awaited!
Volunteers needed to pool in with their knowledge and resources.

P.S. We can also decide on a questionnaire format for the people seeking solution for their problems on these two.

Then its a 50-50 Chance for it to be successfully replaced, give it a try anyways.

That might differ but you would be used to it after few days of riding

Such a minor change in weight shouldn't be noticeable, change it urself and tell us about it

[I][I]clip-ons aid in handling rather cornering.clip-on s on cbz or pulsars are just show-off.i think if you fit the clip-ons on hunk the handle bar will come more close to your body.
