Hm..thats an idea. But it is difficult to work with the pads inside the caliper and the rubbing wont be even. BTW, did the brake bite improve in ur case..?Originally posted by Arjun_shetty View PostIf your intention is to clean the pads, then why do you wanna remove the pads.Just remove the calliper and clean the mating surfaces with emery sheet.this is what I had done few months ago to improve the braking.
I am still thinking on how to get the pads out. Anybody who can help..?

I may sound looney, but could someone please upload the Service Schedule for the HH Hunk/CBZ? I mean a table on what is to replaced after how many km? Everyone talks about it, but it's nowhere in the owner's manual!
Never Mind: Found it on page 31 in the owner's maual.

Yup Cleaning will not be so effective if pads are not taken out. There was considerable improvement after cleaning..still bite is not so good..produces kinda sound on hard braking...Originally posted by sooraj_vs View PostHm..thats an idea. Hi sooraj, I vaguely remember having gone thru a DIY/post in one of xbhp's sub-forums where the guy had written about replacing the worn out pads in Apache's disc brake. Now, was it the ownership thread/the DIY, I'm not sure - you might have to do a bit of surfing to unearth that!Originally posted by sooraj_vs View PostHm..thats an idea. The pads can surely be taken out.

Btw, I had some doubts regarding gear shifting pattern in my Hunk.
While down-shifting, it is ok if I shift from 2nd to neutral? I find it is easier than having to shift to 1st and then upshift to neutral! :P
Can anyone throw some light on this? With some technical insight, if possible? Thanks

Ofcourse the pads can be removed. No doubt on that. Its just that I ve to figure out how.Originally posted by BloggingWheels View PostHi sooraj, I vaguely remember having gone thru a DIY/post in one of xbhp's sub-forums where the guy had written about replacing the worn out pads in Apache's disc brake. The pads can surely be taken out.

RTR calipers are almost similar to that of ZMA. The pads are held by allen screws. In ours, its a fixed (i guess) stump at one end and a removable pin at the other. Its this pin that I want to know how to remove. Its not a threaded one. Tried pushing it out, but it aint coming. There gotta be a trick.MOTORCYCLING IS AS MUCH ART AS IT IS SCIENCE

I was looking through the Owner's Manual today and trying to learn something for trying my first self service of the bike over the next week. In the course of which I found out that the Spark Plug needs changing. But then noticed that my tool kit does not have the Spark Plug wrench nor does it have the Suspension Adjustment wrench. Is it possible for me to buy the tool kit from Hero Honda separately?
Also, could someone please post an in-depth guide as to how to work and clean the carburetor? Because the only mechanic I trust is out of commission for the time being and I absolutely refuse to trust anyone else which my Bestest Friend. I'm sure all of you understand the sentiment.
As someone posted earlier, D.I.Y is the only thing which serves 100% satisfaction.

Hello friends, where are you all...??
How is your rides?
Last month, i got two issues with the bike, accelerator cable broken at first and before a week the clutch cable also broke out. Both were broken from the handle side at the tip of the clip at its end. Mechanic said that its a common issue as the handle bar of the new models have been changed. Any one here with such issues? And had a 5th gear slipping issue, which was repaired under warranty by SVC. Engine gets hotter as i cant touch it after a ride. I think i shall go a little richer...
Anyway, friends keep this thread live.... we are xtreme riders na...?

This is not a problem. It happens with my extreme if i do not ride it regularly.Originally posted by ekm-biker View PostHi friends, just want to know whether any body else is facing a problem that I am getting on my bike nearly 10,000kms run . when I press the start button, some times it takes some time for starter motor to start, some times two or three times a tic --tic sound of some relay making contact comes and then it starts. Some times nothing happens and move the bike a little then it starts normally..these days I ride very less, hardly 5 km / day so I suspect weak battery also.
It is because the armature in the self motor stores some residual current in it. If we do not ride it for long or if less then the self motor looses the residual current and thus for first 2-3 press of button the relay clicks and the current is taken by the motor to charge the armature. There is no problem of battery.Photo of my joy- http://www.xbhp.com/talkies/854067-post963.html-3.88 lac km cont....Ownership review of my joy- http://www.xbhp.com/talkies/832255-post608.html- slowly updating as and when getting time. Hey Ashwin, I did get a suspension adjustment wrench in my toolkit. Please contact your Showroom/Customer Care for the missing tools. Can you name the tools which you got in your toolkit? (and the number of tools, too!).
Meanwhile, I ll check mine. Btw, you can also check the tool list (which you're supposed to get in the toolkit) in the manual provided.
