  • Success..!
Removed, cleaned and rubbed the pads. Results are great.
With just a lttle bit of hammering, the problematic pin came out easily. Adjusted the lever free play also. Overall, very effective braking.

I am using 120/80 in rear, with out modifications, but I had to remove the lower chain cover,as tyre was rubbing it slightly.

I guess 110/80 would be direct fit, If I remember correct someone had mentioned about the same in this thread.

Yes 120/80 can be fixed with chain cover modification.ceat vertigo sport (in tubeless type)is available in that size.
110/80 or 110/90 will be a direct fit but finding that tyre is next to impossible.only pirelli sports demon is available in 110/90 18" tubeless which is costlier and wears out quickly.
I settled for dunlop geo cruiser 100/90 tubeless for my xtreme.looks wider than the stock 100/90 zapper y.

Meanwhile, I ll check mine. Btw, you can also check the tool list (which you're supposed to get in the toolkit) in the manual provided.
Yes, I did check last night itself. And the Spark Plug Wrench and the Suspension Adjustment wrench are missing. I remember having the SAW(Suspension Adjustment Wrench) and the SPW(Spark Plug Wrench). But seem to have lost it now. It costs 220 for the whole kit at Hero Honda Stockist.

And if people are considering upsizing the tyre, why not fit a half chain case from the Dazzler? From the looks of it, it will be a direct fit. And it's lighter as well. I was personally considering getting a half naked chain case and the chain would be more looked after then because it would be visible. But since we don't have X Ring Chains. Not recommended from my end.

I might go in and do it, provided you tell me which one is a direct fit.

From what I heard, for wheel balancing. I could be wrong.

Haha, I love naked chains, they sound really nice when they're properly lubed and cleaned. I think that of the Dazzler should be a direct fit. Not too sure though. Might try next week or something if all goes well. The mount points of the Chain case will coincide with that of the chain case from what it looks like.

If you are talking about wheel balancing weights, as seen on cars, then surely they are for the purpose as their name says!
                      My front wheels have them.

I am running with out my chain lower cover, as they are rubbing my 120/80 tyres, as I've mentioned before here.
It'll surely take its toll on the chain life as ours is not O-ring type, but I did that as an immediate solution.
And yes, they sound nice (especially on ovetaking, on bridges etc) when lubed, but horrible after say 500kms of lubrication

Those are for wheel balancing. infact, after every 10000 kms or if you meet any frontal impact, the wheels need to be balanced

Even an O-Ring Chain will perform badly if not lubricated properly. The key is to keep it clean of grime and dust. In the case of our chains, I believe that an absent chain case will make sure we look at it and keep it clean. Instead of a fully covered chain. As they say, out of sight = out of mind.

Oh, I got the first bit very well.

10,000km eh? Well, then my wheels need balancing! Any place other than the SVC which do this? What about places which do car wheel balancing?

What I was trying to say is, as O-Ring chains are sealed and pre-lubricated, they don't need chain covers(but its always better to have even for O-ring) and frequent care like ours.

Hm..from the looks, seems to be a direct fit. But the problem is, stock chain guard is held by four bolts, out of which two are on the under side of the swing arm. So the open guard will have to be held by just two bolts. Will that be enough to prevent it from wobbling..?

                              @ SatSon
is the upper half fixed rigidly by the two bolts..?

Exactly. Now I seem to be convincing myself to get rid of the chain covers. That way, the bike weighs a tad bit lighter and I'll keep track of the chain health as well. I generally forget about the chain always. Once I had got a stone somehow stuck inside the chain case and it made this horrendous sound everytime. Needed to get rid of the chain covers to get the stone out of there.

Half naked chain covers are not made from metal. They barely weight anything, so the 2 bolts are more than sufficient to hold the cover rigidly. And I do think the Upper Half of the Chain Case in SatSon's Hunk is held rigidly. IIRC, the two parts of the Chain Case are independent of each other.

One other question, how do we oil the gearbox? I mean, how do we gain access to the gearbox?
