Coz in my case, its just the opposite. ie, it sounds perfectly normal when cold and once heated up, the sound is just unbearable.
    Why is this so..?
Tappet problem with Hunk is a common issue with many?
Some other FM also recently reported this.

Sooraj, you were not able to get it resolved in the service centre?

I was talking to one Yamaha 2 stroke lover recently and seeing my bike, he asked me, "why you chose Hunk, this bike is prone to tappet problems right?"

But I didn't face any tappet issue till date (but only 1000 kms since I bought my used Hunk, so its too early to say)

Yea, tappet problem is common among hunk/cbz/karizma. The SVC guys are too lazy to adjust it. Takes a bit of effort to do it. Whenever I give the bike for service and ask them to do a tappet job, they return the bike after some time saying "everything has been done". Infact all they have done might be an oil change and washing. They wont do anything else.

BTW, dint get an answer to my query.

I've checked for smoke coming from exhaust, and yes its there, not when engine is cold, but when engine is hot.

Feeling bit lazy to do the second test
But one doubt, why balloon will grow rapidly if piston ring is worn/bad?

Due to blowby, the pressure inside the crankcase increases.. if this blowby gas is relieved via the air box. this blowby gas also carries oil with it (oil mist is generated during splash lubrication). this oil later burns in the cylinder and causes fumes.
I think I have read in your recent post(or was it a typo?) that your bike has clocked more than 1 lakh kms. If so, did you get any major work done on the engine? Would like to know the details?
yup my bike is 1 lakh + kms old.

following are the work performed on it since i got it
            oil change every 2500 kms
all body pannels incuding tank replaced due to major crash of the bike
tyres changed twice first time mrf meteor, next time it was pirelli scorpion and now its michelin sirac
due to unavailability of air filter, i had to install K&N. this also resulted in change of carburettor - I installed Bs-29 carb, increased the copression, got the head ported.
the cylinder head cover gasket was replaced 15 times. but still the leak is not stopping. maybe there is some defect in the head but the service center guys say its my rough use thats causing the problem
other than the above and fuel, no other expenses.

infact to be honest, the K&N and my rough riding style is taking its toll on the bike and i may need a block piston replacement soon...

btw, all the maintainance for the bike since its last free service was done by me so that the service guys dont screw up anything

            • Just returned from my 1st free service of the HH Hunk.

Total costs: Rs. 215.00 (only oil change).
              Noticeable differences:

              1. The gear shifting has become way smoother now! As of now, no hard shifts!
              2. Braking good.
              3. Bike Polished (in Rain)
              4. Front and rear wheels rotating freely.
              5. Pick-up seems the same.
              6. Revs freely to ~60km/hr @ 4750RPM!

              Conclusion: A happy man!

Dude, please frame your question properly. You should understand that there are many others on this forum with bike problems and hence if you make the 'mistake' as above, rest assured, few ppl will be willing to 'interpret' what you've written! For a response, please frame proper questions

                  1. Tap-Tap sound from where?
                  2. What has the sound got to do with your bike's reserve capacity?

                  • No idea its like coming from mid section of the bike but heard it only till 15 kms that too not continuously and later disappeared didnt hear that sound again

no no reserve capcity is completely diff from the tap tap sound the thing is cbz-x shows reserve capactiy of 1.5l i fill 2 ltr of petrol that means half a litre in the ON mode assuming the bikes mileage to be b/w 45-50 that means the bike needs to run b/w 20-25 kms before it should hit reserve but the point is after filling 2 ltrs of petrol the bike runs an odd 1-5 kms and hits reserve

now again the bike can run upto 85 kms after hitting reserve before the fuel is completely empty

                    really confused

what if the milage is 45km/l; that it runs 85+5=90 kms on 2l petrol, if some dirt goes in the petrol tank, it may block the bottom section where the petrol should drain if the valve is put to on. so when u put it to the reserv position, the petrol in on section drains through the reserve.

Am I reading some 2 stroke mod/restoration thread? (porting head, carb change, compression change ...)

I guess you surely would've had to change the chain-sprocket, shocks, etc?
                          What about piston rings?

Glad to hear that your bike has completed 1 lakh kms, I think yours would be the first bike to complete this milestone among the Xtremes/Hunks of FMs here!

                          • Completed 3rd service of my xtreme couple of days ago.Bike is having handle wobbling issue right from day one.Had reported this issue 2times already.Again reported during third service also.Tyre alignment was done at extra cost but all it didnt yield me any result.SVC people told me to bring the bike again after a week. They have promised me that they will change the alloys with new stock bike and check for wobbling.Hoping to resolve this issue at the earliest.
The only and most bothering issue i'm having in my bike is handling wobbling which tends to increase with a pillion.
Anyone out here with similar issues?
