Hi,

Got my bike out for a short trip today. After some 200m odd travel, the bike suddenly stalled (RPM was around 2000rpm at that time as I was about to downshift and left the throttle). I pressed the self-start button but it made a squeaky noise and didn't switch on. I tried it in neutral again but even then it didn't fire up. After some 10mins or so of trying with increasing throttle, somewhere it got fired up and started working normally. Is this what we call the cold start or I am up for some issue here? I did a short warm-up of around 15seconds.

Additionally, while cornering, I notice the chain hitting somewhere. I haven't noticed this before going to my last service where he adjusted the chain. Also, I notice that while warming up with choke on, after 3k RPM mark, the bike vibrates severely. In the RPM needle I see the needle to vibrate vigorously and isn't uniformly moving up as it used to be earlier. What could be the cause of this?

Guys just 50 km on odo..that too solo riding..and i am hearing some squeaking noise from shocks(rear)..

It sounds creak...creak.. PLasticky..sound...

Plz help guys ..are my shocks gone bad this early or is it normal...???

I guess it comes when u push ur ride downwards,its normal.

Those are some awesome clicks!
The vibrations after 3k will be high if the bike is not moving, get the bike moving and you should be ok.
Cold start, yes, but yours seems like an extreme case. 10 minutes is a lot IMO. But then again, warmup your engine for about a minute atleast and report back, it should be ok then I guess.
RPM needle might waver when the engine is cold, but should be steady when the engine is warm enough. If it isn't, your AFR(Air Fuel Ratio) needs to be adjusted. Follow Sibun's guide for the same(You'll find it a few pages back)

Your shocks have not gone bad, but I'm unable to point out what may be wrong here. It's normal we get a hissing sound from the rear shocks, but creak creak, I am not so sure.

When I push my bike's back down, while stopped, I can also hear a small sound coming from rear shocks, I think its from the plastic cover inside the spring rubbing on outer walls. There's nothing to worry.

No sudden acceleration, no sudden braking. Don't go anywhere close to the redline. Keep varying your speeds and don't stick on to one constant speed and you should be fine. But as far as top speed goes, 5k RPM on 5th gear should be the highest you should go to I guess. Depends on how much you've traveled till date. The closer you are to 1000km, the more you can go towards 80kmph I guess.

Guys.. whenever I push the front shocks down (either at stand still or while braking) I hear a tik - tik sound. One while diving and other while returning. Why is this..? Anything to worry..?

handle cone set is loose. Adjust it.

Hi Sibun, without a clutch & no throttle in a slow motion, i can hear a kat kat sound near pegs. i dont know whether from engine or chain!!What is that ? its not about engine stalling

dont worry mate even my cbz has the same rear shocks squeking sound,it perfectly normal and its present there in most of the bike..... my brother had the same sound from his karizma and hunk...... dont worry and ride safe....

It is from the front sprocket. Check whether the chain is tightened too much.A too tightened chain will create the problem.

My 100 km drive was safe and indeed fun ( Thanks u guys. i kept varying speeds from 35-50 km/hr)Its 160 km on odo.. i will be riding next 500 km with a pillion (50-60 kg ) ( U guessed it right !!) ..So my question is ..Is riding with pillion will have any bad affects on my bike`s engine ...????

And I warmed up properly today and the bike was totally fine. Guess, that short warmup didn't heat up the engine well.

Any help on the chain hitting the cover issue? What are the symptoms of having a loose chain (tight chain as well)?

Glad you had a great time

Had there been any bad effects of having a pillion, don't you think bikes would've been single seaters :P. Heavy pillions do pose an issue during run-ins but in your case, you can always neglect her weight

Do give frequent breaks in between the trip so that engine has sufficient time to settle. Don't forget to vary your speeds.
