I tightened my drive chain and lubed it with USHA machine oil - just for the sake of experimenting. I wish to know whether it will have any adverse effects on the chain/sprocket? It (the oil) is very thin though and I think I may have to lube the chain again within 2/300 kms. But noise and vibrations have come down significantly! (as in the case of a freshly lubed chain/sprocket). Oh and FYI - my Hunk's chain is of Diamond make.

Hello everybody
I would like to know what all things i should keep in mind before going for the last free servce of my bike tomorrow?
It is 11330 kms old and the last servicing was done at 8892 kms..
Though i have always changed the engine oil from outside but the regular servicing has been done by the ASS...
The things i think i shuold change are
1- Air filter
2-Spark plug
3- Accelerator wire(should i go for new or should get it cleaned coz it feels heavy while riding)...
I have been using castrol power1 10w30SS from last 1000 kms or so not going to get it changed in the service....
getting a mileage of 42-50 kmpl depending on city as well as highway riding....Hero Honda Dawn-2009-2011
Hero Honda CBZ Xtreme-2011-2017
KTM Duke390 2016- till now

Well, The idling on my bike is still not stable.
And sometimes, the idling goes upto 2k and them slowly goes back down to 1.3k. For no reason whatsoever.
Also, I did read somewhere that the RR too can cause problems with the Idling and I do remember by tuning going off just after I got the bike converted to DC. I thought it was the people who did the job who messed it up. Please read this for further reference:

Also, I read this article:

And checked on EBay for a digital tachometer that I can use for tuning, can I use this one, anyone knows if it does/will work? :/

Most of the cases the increase in mileage is in the margin of 1 kmpl! And the roaring sound as there is no airbox cover gives you an impression of better power.Originally posted by ATHUL4R View Postsome saying that by installing K & N filter (conical type prefered) every one getting good milage than stock.
is it true? is by changing to k&n conical type filter, is my engine warranty will void??
I never had personal experience on K&N, but it is not worth the money spent, this is what I've concluded by reading various posts in the past.
And it will void the warranty.

Just make sure that the SVC completes all of the jobs mentioned at the back of free service coupon. If any other problems, you can always mentioned that too, along with the regular servicing.

Dude please frame your question properly. What preference do you want for your rear disk setup? I mean you want a new bike or want to modify your existing bike to include a rear-disk setup?Originally posted by vineeshvv View Posthi friends i am using cbz xtreme 2007 model (the first cbz xtreme) , i want a rear disc setup for my bike which one do u prefer for me ??

The roaring sound is heard when the filter is exposed to air directly. If the stock replacement type needs filter box cover to be there in place, then it won't roar.
Our stock filter itself will roar if we remove the filter box cover, thought its not receommented as it attracts more dust into the engine!

The RR cannot be at fault.Originally posted by ashwin.terminator View PostBumping again.

Let me explain:-
These bikes run DC CDI and thus gets power from battery. They will show problem only when the battery is ill charged or damaged. The problem will be different. The usual problem are mis firing and low performance. But idle changing is different thing. But after you did the DC conversion, the battery is getting charged more better then no problem.
Look for problems in air intake and carb. Was your tappets adjusted recently. Tight tappets can cause such problem. Check for air leaks from carb to engine. Check the rubber intake manifold if it has cracks or not and if loose.
Also if the slow jet in carb is blocked with dirt, similar problems of idle shooting up can occur.
Check with a good mechanic or take it to a good service center.
Or else check air filter for dirt, check the rubber manifolds for air leak and then clean the carb properly and re-tune by following my process. Most of the bikes now are DC and they run fine with DC CDI. Nothing to worry. Just check whether battery is getting properly charged.Photo of my joy- http://www.xbhp.com/talkies/854067-post963.html-3.88 lac km cont....Ownership review of my joy- http://www.xbhp.com/talkies/832255-post608.html- slowly updating as and when getting time.
