Quite sadly, i am getting hit by other bikes often on road. Mostly on the sides and back of the bike. I did not get hurt till now but this is starting to scare me. The other day, a TVS50 wedgied his bike between my bike's back tire and silencer and when i turned back and looked at him, there was the same thing every other driver says, "SORRY" or sometimes they just look down and act like nothing happened. This is happening a lot more frequently in my CBZ Xtreme 2011 than my old Bajaj Boxer. Maybe my driving style is the culprit. Or is it? Maybe its cos of the increasing traffic. or even the growing rage in everyone due to all the price hikes that make them drive rash. What can we do except to not worry about this and hope it won't happen again when we are with a pillion rider. Hope people are in their senses when driving...

Guys, I checked the oil level, it was near to minimum mark after 900 kms of a full refill ! I topped it up and doing my daily city commuting of 30kmsOriginally posted by SatSon View PostI also don't think its a rich mixture issue, and almost certain that oil is getting burned along with petrol. And this happens only when engine becomes enough warm after 5-10 kms of ride with speeds ranging from 0-70.
So guess its a valve guide seal/piston ring worn out issue.
And my mileage varies b/w 30-40 !
So now its almost confirmed it should be issue with valve guide/seal or piston ring! Anyone here faced similar problem with Xtreme/Hunk and got it repaired?
Though the engine is burning oil, I am getting a constant mileage of 40+ kms and there is no lack of power.

Dude what can the forum members do in this case?

Jokes apart, it might be the case that your shockers have been adjusted a bit too hard and high....a softer suspension setting might do the trick? And in any case, please go back a few pages in this thread.
You will find that some people had been facing similar problems and there was a lot of discussion regarding suspensions and swing-arms!

Guys, a doubt.
Recently, I read somewhere that loose tappet sounds the loudest when the engine is cold, and diminishes as engine heats up. Is this true..?
Coz in my case, its just the opposite. ie, it sounds perfectly normal when cold and once heated up, the sound is just unbearable.
Why is this so..?

Understand your worries, you would be much attached to your machine which would be a dream-come-true for you.
Thought your issues got resolved when the swing arm bushes were greased, as you had mentioned some time back.
But, these are simple man made machines, and the issues can definitely be resolved by human.
Don't think much about it and waste your precious studies.

check three things on the bike..Originally posted by SatSon View PostGuys, I checked the oil level, it was near to minimum mark after 900 kms of a full refill ! I topped it up and doing my daily city commuting of 30kms

in pitch darkness, take a white light torch and point it towards the exhaust of the bike. now start the bike. if it is emitting smoke, you have either an busted piston ring or valve seal is damaged or could be that the block piston needs to be replaced.
remove the breather pipe (the point where it is connected to the air box). connect a baloon to it so that no air escapes from there. now fireup the engine. for a perfectly good engine, baloon should expand and contract wth every piston stroke and slowly increase in size.
for a damaged piston ring, the baloon should grow rapidly.
ironically, for a completely busted oil seal/ big leaks, sometimes the ring does not grow in size

No problem with the bike whatsoever just one day i heard a tap tap tap sound while i was going to college but never heard during return from coll or after that and still the reserve capacity of the bike is confusing
Other than that everything is okay
So as i am going for the 4th service are there any things i should be concerned of like telling the svc guy to do this and that any suggesstions would be appreciated

might be charged for some chain cleaning and lubricating oilOriginally posted by BloggingWheels View PostGuys, I'm giving up my Hunk for its 1st free Service tomorrow
Any inputs/suggestions/'alerts' from the respected forum members?
I guess, I shall be charged only for the oil change? Any other charges to be aware of?
Thanks.

I've checked for smoke coming from exhaust, and yes its there, not when engine is cold, but when engine is hot.
Feeling bit lazy to do the second test
But one doubt, why balloon will grow rapidly if piston ring is worn/bad?
I think I have read in your recent post(or was it a typo?) that your bike has clocked more than 1 lakh kms. If so, did you get any major work done on the engine? Would like to know the details?
