The screw marked in yellow in the picture...just loosen it a little to adjust the brake lever .

Plugged the bore leak yesterday...they dismantled the entire engine from the chassis ...removed the head+bore and took it to a lathe....the floor manager wrapped some clean cloths in both the holes to make sure no metal shavings entered the engine...the lathe guy removed cloth from the hole where the timing chain comes from....though he only adjusted the cloth he made a small gap through which some metal shavings slipped through...i found out only after he completed the work.

Told the floor manager about this and he opened everything up...there was lot of roller kind of thing on that side...took everything apart piece by piece and at the bottom there was this big hole he cleaned it with a clean cloth and stuffed both the holes with cloth used air gun ...it took him a lot of time just to clean and make sure all the shavings were removed...then he reinstalled everything.

Just like sibun ji had instructed earlier the floor manager took the bore+piston as one when he opened the engine.

He told me to ride for a few days locally just to make sure no leakage happens again before i go on my trip.

At the end there was this huge bill waiting for me in the counter...i was like WTF.... they told me they opened most of engine thats why the labor charges was high...anyway they poured in new engine oil and started the bike...i thought it didnt start so pressed the starter again only to be told its already idling .

@Sarbanoxley - by this one can adjust the brake, but Imran is asking about having the lever a little lower than the foot peg level, so that he can place the toe comfortably.

There is a nut on which the brake lever rests when we release brake, may be loosening that a bit will allow brake lever to come down. Please try it out, but I haven't tried it yet, just a suggestion.

It does more harm than good. Besides, once people know you have this alarm system installed, they'll set off the alarm intentionally just for kicks. My suggestions, don't do it.

But if you still want to do it, go to JC Road, you'll find plenty of them there. Xenos makes these security systems I think.
I used to set off the alarm intentionally !!

Hmmm if you are going to install it for security frankly speaking its not useful. i think its some years back a friend of mine install a security alarm system in his bike i think it cost him about 2000k+ . After a week his bike was stolen from his home, a neighbours honda city also gone. The thief's removed all the security system from his bike and put it on the sitout. till date he didnt got his bike back. but He is alittle rich. so his dad brought him a new Thunderbird and a new N series mobile. :-) .
If you are doing this for fancy the no problem go for it. it will cost you 1200rs-1500rs.

                not exactly true...

                this system saved mine once
the thief tried to break the handle lock and when it did not happen, they tried to drag it with front wheel lifted but then the system rang and alerted the watchman...
by the time i reached the parking lot, the a-hole had managed to tear off the side pannel in attempt to stop the alarm but then ran away...

all in all, a professional will rip you off. but the chances are very less and in most of the times, the system helps a lot.

But there is a way in which we can do the work in Rs.20 only.
My friend stores the inner cable as he orders them from a company in cuttack who specializes in inner cable. So if you want you can go to my friend's shop and you can get the inner cable for Rs.20.
But i got the inner cable for my bike on 21 oct....but yes off market also works fine.

                          • Can anyone confirm the markings on the carb? I am buying a Hunk/CBZ intake manifold for the impulse and want to make sure if the carb is similar. Impulse parts have not yet hit the shelves.

Yes, you can go ahead with extreme/hunk manifold. All are same.
                              The carb is same.
The difference between extreme/hunk and impulse are:-
                              1. Camshaft is different both in lift and profile.
                              2. Carb is same but the main jet and needle are different.
                              3. CDI is different so ignition curve and timing different
                              4. Engine has balancer in impulse while it is absent in extreme/hunk.

There are many other difference which i will dig deeper and let you know.

1400 RPM is the prescribed engine RPM . Refer your manual . Its set for optimum fuel efficiency
