@satish : Brand new n unsold (21.4kms on odo and 11kms on trip), deal was 37.5K(ex-sh) rest actuals, it's working to 42K (OTR) No ES, No Disc (not ideal for city/traffic driving)

If some one is interested (B'lore) I have negotiated a deal with Mellinium Motors for brand new showroom piece Achiever (with fairing/no disc/no self) for Rs.47K (OTR). It's again a paisa vasool deal, it can be further negotiated I guess by quoting my deal !!

      > Fully loaded (alloys/disc/self) Achievers too available across nation at select dealers ~ 55-60K (OTR)
      > One Shah Mobikes in Mysore still have Brand NEW unsold 2003 Ambition (price not known)

          • ^^ you need to sit around with 3 to 4 jets(bigger sizes than stock) of different sizes try each one of them and see the plug reading and do it accordingly.

Jetting is not plug and play, i wish it was

in the xtreme?.Does doing this mod in anyway affect the reliability of the Engine in the long run even if all the things are done correctly..Is it worth it.

First of all i wouldn't suggest anybody K&n coz they air filteration is much low compared to uni filter ( uni is a foam filter) i have personally opened up a couple of rx engines which are using K&N and upjetted properly, i personally witnessed some scarthes on the cylinder linings and lots of dust too the case was just opposite with UNI filters, be it 4 or 2 stroke uni's rock big time to me.

Coming to your question, yes if its not done properly one expect there engine giving away black smoke under 5 to 10k kms.

If everything done properly i see no harm in engine life, heck if u take engine life into consideration its better you dont do any mods and enjoy stock as much as u can.

Yes its defently worth it, especially for those who are looking for the adreline rush in midrange.

                        • ^^Thanks man i am shocked that black smoke can be seen after just 50-10K Kms.Are uni filter same as the Xtreme? one more thing the SC guys just spray air on the filter it only takes off small amount of particles
and i do not think it can be washed in water so as it costs only Rs 100
can i change my Air filter every 2000Kms.

That would be a collosal waste of air filters! IIRC they are good for 12,000 km... unless you are riding in v dusty conditions. Just clean them well dude... the service guys may not be doing it well. I'v cleaned my CBZ-X's filter only once, and even I found almost no visible dust. I cleaned it with my vaccum cleaner (blower) anyway, and found that it did make a noticible difference! So clean it well, at the right intervals even if you don't see any visible dust on it. In any case its so much more convinent to clean these paper filters compared to oiled foam ones...

Btw, anyone knows how much these foam Uni filters cost? Are they cheaper than K&N?
