there is a page(54) in user manual abt this
u can find a specific tool for it in the tool box. use it to rotate clock wise for stiffer n anti clockwise for softer

    ------------------

what does stiffer n softer means, which is better for high way n which for bumby roads now its put on 3rd step.

The spare parts of GS150R are easily available in the SCs but not in the spare parts shops. Anyway, let us stop this discussion about GS150R here as it is not the proper place for it.

Riding 60-64 kilometers for each and every liter of fuel; that is what I meant. I am ready to prove it before any one of you.
The main reasons are that my bike is maintained well and I am – being a villager – never in a hurry to reach 120 kmh from 0 in 2 seconds and stop it instantly as we see in cinemas.

      • @sarbanoxley- Please go for new valves and check whether the valve guides are scored or not. Also use good quality petrol and clean the carburetor with the air screw and adjust air-fuel mixture so that that bike doesn't run rich. You can do the same work in a good garage as i have never got any work done from service center in any of my bikes and instead got it done from my trusted mechanic. Even my JOY had two engine overhaulings from him. First he did and second i did with the help of him. Due to lost compression you are getting poor mileage. Service center are best a bunch of jokers.

You are lucky to find a good mech mate - agree with you on the SC bit they are a bad choice but local mechanics here are useless and cannot be trusted - paid a heavy price once by going to a local garage -they changed ma clutch plate for a carb problem .

I have been riding the bike by push starting it but keeping the revs below 5K mark - called this HH SC and the supervisor is saying dont ride the bike as the engine will seize.... is this true guys ?

          pickup is also down .

all the SC i phoned are saying only 3 things cause the loss in compression

          1)Valve

          2)Clutch plates

          3) Bore (piston rings something like that they say)

am i looking at a HUGE bill here guys

          • if you cruise at high speeds and love cornering ,the suspensions should be stiff.soft setting is for bumpy ride, but it hampers high speed handling,so not recommended for highways.
and the question remains why do i race?

Clutch plates for loss of compression?AFAIK they are not responsible.
Push starting the bike may cause damage to clutch plates.
I have this same problem with discover135 and all it took was adjusting valve seating and it was running fine. This i think is a common problem as i saw couple of bikes with same problem in SC which have done>25000km.
Whenever i see bikes or cars i see adrenalin pumps instead of people carriers.Thats the way to define an automobile.

My guess is that the decompressor is getting stuck leading to the valves remaining open and hence loss of compression. So far all those who reported this problem in ZMA have not had any serious engine problem and are still using the bike for more than 5 K Kms...including me.
Sir, was your experience in any way similar to the one shown in this video??? i.e few loose kicks(without compression) and then bike's at TDC and gains compression.

Those who want to stick with 10w30 oil,can very well go for shell AX5 10W30.I'm currently using it in my 3k old xtreme.Better alternate for oem oil.costs 240 for 900ml

Valves are the real culprits for your problem. once the valves are done then your performance and mileage both will increase. Clutch plates are in no way responsible for lack of compression. If clutch plates are gone kick will slip but in no way will it lose compression. If the engine is not smoking then no way bore- piston. When they open the head look at the bore by slightly lowering the piston and see the upper groove made by the piston. if it is quite deep then bore has worn out or if the groove is light then there is nothing to worry.
Usually hero honda bore last for nearly 1 lac km without any problem. And while the head is opened look at the face of exhaust valve. If it is brick red in color then your air-fuel ratio is correct and if it is black then you are running rich.
And please get the work done otherwise your mechanic is right you could land with a seize bore.

If you would have anywhere nearby then i could have helped you by taking you to my mechanic. He is a genius with more than 20 years experience and is very honest also.

Ask them to either replace the shock absorber free of cost or give the reason of refusal in writing.
