Did the bike indulge in any accident? Its difficult to say without examining it, possibilities are some screw might have become loose or some internal damage in the mask.

Hi proud owners of Gladiator, this is my first post in this thread. I do own a Gladiator DLX version (silver color, disc break and electric start) bought in Jan 2007. It has crossed 24K on the odo now and gave a decent mileage of 52 to 59 based on how gentle was i to the throttle. Basically, i have never crossed 80km/hr in my gladiator since i always used to ride it in chennai traffic. From may 2011, i have gave it to my brother and riding a RE TBTS. Quenched my thirst for long drives in this bike. Since i drive mostly in city and my brother drives a lot for his business, planning to give the TBTS to him and getting my old war hourse back by the end of this month.
In my gladiator, I have changed my battery to Amaron MF one and changed my bike tyres (back one is CEAT GRIPP - reallly good).
If any of you have done some modification to your bike like changing it to DC and having a HID installed in it, having a mech ABS installed, any performance mods etc, let me know. Because i am very much interested in to and planning to do that in my bike.Yamaha Gladiator DLX - Jan 2007 - 23K Kms up and running ...
RE TBTS - May 2011 - 14K Kms up and running...
Next ???

I would also like to know at what speed and what RPM is the sound more obvious. Are You due for an oil change? Try a fully synthetic oil and check and let us know about the resultsOriginally posted by Rakesh.M View Postguys.. the sound from the engine trembles when in high gear... often noticed in autos..
Is it normal with gladiators/?? Never heard it b4 4m ne other bikes..

Few queries about yamaha gladiator DLX 2006 model. Is there a possibility to fit a ladies or side handle(with a hook), kindly post the pic if anyone has done it. Also what could be wrong if the pickup in 2 gear is poor, could this be due to cluth plate or something else. One more problem noticed is that the speedometer needle shivers while going up , doesn't steadily increases when speeding up.
Thanks in advance.

Hi,Originally posted by nightwing View PostIs anyone else having this problem with the Gladiator?
Never had this with the Discover.

I too have seen this happen to my brother's bike. Now that I have decided to resurect the Glady, I'm just thinkinking if it would be worth the money than purchasing a new bike......

Well. I do not know if a ladies side handle could be fitted to the gladiator. So i can not help you on that. How many kilometers has your gladi run? If you do not find your clutch plate to be excessively hard or clunky, I do not think its a problem with the clutch. The speedometer needle shivering will have to be fixed by giving it to a meter expert. Even mine used to shiver for sometime. For all you know, maybe a little greasing will be all it needs.Originally posted by ashwhin View PostFew queries about yamaha gladiator DLX 2006 model. Is there a possibility to fit a ladies or side handle(with a hook), kindly post the pic if anyone has done it. guys have some problem.. last week gave my gladi for service in yamaha factory shop in pune. the bill came to around 3400. they changed chain sprocket spark plug and other cables. but there was no pick up at al. then when i enquired with them they told carburettor needs to be replaced. costing around 4000. but as far as i know carburettor does not gets damaged for 23000kms. my bike is 5yrs old and clocked 23000kms. any advice on this guys.

Has run around 21K KM's. Hence I still feel clutch plate will be fine. Once I have heard a theory saying if the Odometer is reset to zero or changed to some other KM's, the speedometer needle starts to shiver and there is no way to change it. I don't believe it. Any views about this belief.Originally posted by prashanth lobo View PostWell. I do not know if a ladies side handle could be fitted to the gladiator. So i can not help you on that. First of all, 3400 is whopping bill. What have they replaced in your bike? Chain sprocket costs a bit, yes. Around 900 when i changed it. But spark plugs etc don cost much. And about the carburettor do consult another mechanic or SC. Do you find any problems while riding? I dont understand why they would need to replace one...Originally posted by havish999 View Postguys have some problem.. last week gave my gladi for service in yamaha factory shop in pune. the bill came to around 3400. they changed chain sprocket spark plug and other cables. but there was no pick up at al. then when i enquired with them they told carburettor needs to be replaced. costing around 4000. but as far as i know carburettor does not gets damaged for 23000kms. my bike is 5yrs old and clocked 23000kms. any advice on this guys.
Yeah the clutch should be fine. I changed mine recently at around 39,000 kms. It was just a little hard so i decided to change. And i have not heard of that theory before. But i do not think there is too much truth in it.Originally posted by ashwhin View PostHas run around 21K KM's. Hence I still feel clutch plate will be fine.
