I have fz-s too but only one light works at a time.
Oh, even with me only one worked at a time when I used halogen bulbs. But when I switched to LED, all three sides lights up when I use high beam and two sides for low beam. So I guess it depends on the way the LED is made.

Attached a new crash guard to my bike, and now everytime I apply front break for a sudden stop or a slow down, the frind mud guard and tyre touches the crash guard and locks the handle from moving.

Is it common with every crash guard or is there something I ca do about it?

Nothing shoulf interfere with the handle movement.

Have you fixed the stock crash guard or some other ? Can you post a pic.

          Hai

This has happened to one of my friend. He has installed the crash bar at a higher level, so when you hard brake the front mudguard will come in contact with the crash bar and the handlebar will get locked. You have to install the crash guard at a lower level. Please post a photo of the setup and I can advise you how to reinstall the crash guard.

          Cheers

            Hi all,

Today I checked engine oil level and it has gone down min level, checked through dipstick. The dipstick even is not getting any trace of the oil. So it seems it has gone down really low. I was a bit late to service this time. Ran nearly 2800kms after last service. I checked around 2 weeks ago and the oil was above min level.
Should I run the bike any further, I am fearing to take it at service center too, as the oil is low?
Will the engine get damaged if I run at least 10 km to reach the service center?
What might be the cause of this low level?

My fazer fi is 2.5years and 20k kms,i have faced minimal problems with my bike so far except one or two .my bike's rear tyre started cracking at 12-13k kms only, now the crack is 2mm-3mm wide when loaded, crack is on entire perimeter on both side.should i go with any other options or with stock one as i dont want fishtailing or any other safety hazards.

PS:i have been reading and learning/unlearning through xbhp since 2010 when i got my first bike as pre owned rx 135 4 Speed.registered here a few days before and this is my first post.

Ride slowly and take it to svc and get oil filled up. Drain the oil and measure how much is remaining.

Did you notice any smoke coming from the exhaust? Worn out pistion rings may cause the engine oil to get into the combustion chamber.

Yes the engine will get damaged if one runs without sufficient oil. Get a motorcycle oil from nearby pump/shop, fill up, check level and then go to SVC. May be your bike is losing oil via leaking valve seals or worn rings - that can be determined at SVC. Is there white/blue smoke on racing engine?

Take it to the service center, its harmful for the engine to run in low oil.

One reason could be because of oil burning inside. You can check this on your own. Throttle in netural and look out for any smoke, if you see dense black smoke then the oil is burning along with fuel. The primary reason for this could be damaged piston head or seal. Service centre will diagnose and fix it.

Finally after very long time i'm going for engine overhaul.
My bike has covered almost 45k, out of which 40k was after piston kit went kaput. How can i tell that, white smoke on hard reving. I kept engine oil above min level all the time by topping it up.
Now i'm confused between full engine work and half engine work. While some mechanic is saying for full others are saying full will be redundant as my bike is not making any weird noise. Full engine work will cost around 13k and half around 8k. Please suggest which one should i choose and for break in period should i use motul 300 v or any cheap motul oil.

Second thing is my bike's handle feel high on the left even though i have changed it several time. How to fix it.

Third my front wheel has very little bubble or wobble or bent (very very little) can i be corrected or i've to buy new one. I know it's not a spoke wheel but i wanted to ask if they can be repaired. If yes can anyone suggest a good place in delhi to do so.

From what i have learned ,For break in mineral oil is preferred as it is less slippery than full synthetic like 300V.I have only used Yamalube recommended by the Yamaha till now.

                          Thanks.
There are some other minor problems too
1)Ignition steel Keyhole cap is loose in my bike, water kind of jams it in rainy season so have to lube it every couple of days.is there a way to get it fixed,or changing all three locks, i.e ignition, tank cap and rear seat lock, is only way.??

2)On road speed breakers the chassis/silencer make a khat" sound.

                          3) Chain is at its full tension just after 21k kms,My elder brothers CD Dawn chain goes upto 40k(Not complaining ,just a thought.)

4)Light throw is not good,It is good if you use low beam + Passing light or just hold the high beam switch midway.

                          5)Silencer started to Rust.

6)Not really a problem but i have not yet got my bike's FI cleaned, though it is recommended at 6000kms by Yamaha(ODO 21000+kms), as the service centre guys don't have equipment for it .Will go to Lucknow to get it done if it is necessary. My bike has same decent mileage of 40-50 as it was earlier.

Other than that my ride has never made me worry about anything.I have kept my bike stock. All servicings on time except once i kept it running for 6k+without a mobil change and it still didn't ask for servicing.Upto now i have not changed anything in bike except Lubricant and oil/Airfilter.

PS:Is there a dedicated Fazer Ownership thread.?

If you have ridden more after piston damage, go for crank shaft inspection and replacement. Piston directly connected to crank and there are high chances, it could have issues, if you have ridden more with damaged engine.

Yeah i've ridden 40k kms after damaged engine. It started emitting smoke after second or third service only.

And one more thing i need to ask gear shifter now feels springy, for eg. When i shift gear down it take time to comeback to original position same is for upshift.

Is it normal if petrol comes inside air filter chamber, beneath air filter.
