Check the chain slackness, lube it and see if the problem still presists.

      Ride safe and have fun.

        • Oil spotted on engine fins in yamaha fzs

          Hi Friends,

I have a question to ask. I am using Yamaha fzs 2010 model, Now I can see oil leakage on top of the engine. I have no clue why oil is been leaked. Can anyone tell why this happened? I have a doubt whether my engine is safe to use or not.

          Thanks,
          Yuvaraj.

How many kms have you done? Have you serviced/changed engine oil of your bike regularly? Do you redline for long, continuous stretches? You might be having a leaked piston head. Do get it checked bro.

Replace the O-ring or Gasket of the top cover.

You can google it how to adjust tappet setting in FZ, there is an link with Next-Gen-Bikes, you can refer to them, it is not so hard DIY.

Try Motul 300v 10w40 once, then you will never think to switch back to others.

You go to mechanic and say to adjust the clutch lever free play, I think it is loose thats why it is not latching properly, I mean CLUNKY .

Due to some issue, I didn't ride the bike properly for last 1 year and didnt ride for last 3 months. So i didnt give service for past two years. Now I started by bike, i can see lot of problems. Oil leak from engine, Very low mileage. So I am going to give service now and change into a better vehicle again.

Do anyone know, is there split seat available for fzs without major modification? Pillion seat is very small, and the leather is not good. I am going to change the seat. If there is an option to change split seat, i will be changing to it.

Required Fzs 2012 Rear Tyre with perfect grip and balance. Stock tyre gave me horrible experience. Pls suggest some good option and also warn me which tyres shouldn't buy at any cost.

                      • Yamaha FZ-s has no spark

                        Hello,
I am new here. Thanks to the admin for adding me in this famous website.
I am enthusiast about motorcycle engine and wiring. As a beginner I try to know the basic operations of the bikes engine and electrical s.
I am having issues with my Yamaha FZ-s. I replaced the battery of my bike a month ago(Exide 5Ah). After one month I noticed lack of charge, so I thought to charge the battery. I came home and opened the right side cover and I noticed the battery is very hot and the battery is bulged. I was shocked to see a new battery in this state. It is not holding any charge at all. My local mechanic said that my rectifier is bad. I thought I will install a new one a few days later. But after some days in the middle of my journey suddenly my bike stopped with hiccuping and it was not starting any more. I towed my bike to home and then took the bike in nearest local mechanic shop. The mechanic found that there was no spark occurring in the spark plug. Now I am confused which part may be damaged. The local mechanic said it can be the CDI or the stator coil or both. Can a bad rectifier can cause these type of huge damage? Now my bike is in the garage since 3 days. I want to be assured that which parts may get damaged? As both CDI and stator coil both are costly, I don't want to keep a spare one.
So guys please enlighten me with your experience.
                        Thank you.

Try Michelin Pilot Street 140/70 r17 (made in thailand), will cost you around 5500/- but it will last around 25000km plus in Indian Conditions.
Wet grip is good and dry grip is awesome.
Do not go for Pilot Sporty, it is horrible tyre.

                            Listen!
If you have kick starter (carburetor model), remove the battery first, then start the engine with the kick (after removing battery), then place an multimeter and measure whether the input voltage is 13.5V to 14V or not, and also the wattage at 5000rpm is 125W or around 125W. If this is showing something higher than 14V, say 16-20V or whatever, your voltage regulator or rectifier is short or may be not grounded properly.
If you do not have the kickstarter, then remove the battery on morning before first start, measure the output voltage, if it is below 12V, then the battery is the culprit. If you ignore to replace battery then it will damage the relay under the seat.
Now, the spark is not happening, may be Fuse is blown up due to this.
You will get a good solution if you go to any good battery shop with testing facilities (like Amaron dealerships), they can sort it out.

                              Thanks for your advice.
My bike is kick starter model. As I mentioned there is no spark in the spark plug, so the engine is not starting.
Before having no spark problem I measured 15-19 volts at 1500-3500 rpm in the battery terminal with battery installed.
I am also sure that the rectifier is not working properly. I changed the rectifier yesterday and the bike is still not cranking.
I checked the fuse on the self-starter relay(near the battery +ve terminal) and it was ok.
                              What should I do now?

About the MRF Zapper S. I've been using it since the past 14k kms over the last two years.
                                My observations on this tyre.
Very heavy tyre. I could feel the drop in pickup and top speed of my Fazer. The mileage has dropped considerably.
Grip-wise also its not very good being a hard compound tyre. I've lost the confidence that the bike used to give me. Now I feel it skids more. On wet roads I've to be very careful now.

Look-wise (if that concerns you), it is very good! 10/10. Suits the Fazer very very well considering its so tall. The stock tyres look puny in comparison.

Being hard and heavy I can feel the strain this tyre has been putting on my bike. Planning to change it to a tyre with better grip and lesser weight.
Will give the other tyres mentioned a try.

Worried about getting fake tyres. Any heads up on places in Bangalore where we can get original tyres?
