  • AFR Issue?

    Hi All,

My Fazer is just above 5 years old and has completed 35XXX KMs.
From the past one year I've been facing a weird issue with my bike.

In the morning the bike starts with just a single crank. But, once the engine has warmed up and after riding in traffic for a while, if I switch off the engine and leave it for some time (not sure about the duration but any time between 2 min to an hour), the bike doesn't start immediately. It almost always requires 2-3 cranks to get it going. It always dies after the first crank. I've noticed that it becomes fine again if I leave it for a sufficient amount of time (I'm guessing it starts fine after the engine cools down).

I've got my carb cleaned and I even use cleaning fuel additives like System 23 every 5-6K Kms. But the issue still persists.
I've tried adjusting my AFR also I feel that the AFR is fine (based on checking the spark-plug) but still not able to figure out what the problem is.
I'll go for a carb replacement if I know for sure that the carb is the problem. Right now I'm not so sure.

    Any help?

Why would you want to do a swap?

        Ride safe and have fun.

Because I face cold start up issues.. throttle response lag.. idling issues ... Inspite of cleaning it in past services.. after some kms it starts behaving like this..

Bought a 2014 fzs a month ago and noticed a serious drop in mileage. 25kmpl on average. Previous owner told he got a decent milage of 40. Really new to a motor cycle. Help me out please.

(Previous owner asked me to check air filter. Any other solutions? Total 30K kilometers ran.)

                1. Clear or replace air filter
                2. Clean, adjust and Lube chain
                3. Check tyre pressure
                4. Change fuel bunk if suspicious of poor petrol quality

Try changing the sparkplug, I had the same issue, change in sparkplug sorted it out and I used premium petrol for some time. It worked!

Thank you so much. I'll make sure of those points. Is low milage issue in any way connected to clutch plate?

Clutch and low mileage, maybe but for that you'll get other symptoms along with it, such as slippage during hard acceleration, hard clutch... It is always good to check! I usually maintain 80-84 Kmph at 6000 Rpm, if you are doing the above speeds at higher RPM, then check the clutch!

I was more or less wondering how to fit FZ25's headlight into FZ-S, as for the tail lamip I don't see a direct fit. But can anyone tell me in regard to the headlight swap!
