Since the AFR Carb setting is fine and verified. Check for Idling setting and also check the Air filter - Replace if needed ( quite cheap). Also , get the condition of spark plug checked.

Re: Yamaha FZ-16/ FZ-S
Hey XBHP !!
I was stalking the thread from past 2-3 months !
I bought new FZ 2.1 or FZ 2.0 whatever they call it, 2 months back. First servicing is done, next service is due in first week of november !
As you people are very experienced, if anyone can spare some time and tell me what should i look for while taking it to service center (Perfect Riders - Jay Nagar, Bangalore).
- Engine Oil - Should i use the Yama Lube or ask the service guy to put Motul in it, if Motul, can you please tell me which number should i go for - ex 20-50 ! My daily ride completed around 45kms ! BTM to Whitefield.
- Headlights - i dont like the stock ones (yellowish), can you suggest which one should i get from amazon (whitish led), easily replaceable.
- Shockups - Bike makes a keeche keeche sound, not sure what causing it. Should i ask him to check or replace shockup oil ?
- Gear - While shifting gear, i feel like it has loose hands, gear shifting is pretty loose or may be its just me.
- Any advice while taking care of this new vehicle ! its my first vehicle in Bangalore (considering heavy traffic and pot holes)
thanks in advance !

If you have no problem to go to Rajainagar from whitefield, then I prefer Bangalore Wheels Service Center at Rajajinagar. The mechanics are reliable and if you tell them to service carefully they will do that.Originally posted by riderblack View PostHey XBHP !!

Just service the bike and do not replace the oil. Go buy Motul 300v or Motul 7100 10W40 Engine oil and keep riding until engine oil gets old 5000km (300v) or 4000km (7100) and pour it, also make sure replace the Oil Filter (from the Yamaha SVC). Yamalube Sporty Premium is not good compared to Motuls.
Shocks do sound while braking or while sudden falling on potholes?
Loose hands? don't know.
Just warm up for 1 minute in summer morning & 2 minute in winter morning and ride.Regards
Saikat

Re: Yamaha FZ-16/ FZ-S
1. Note down ur current setting turning anticlockwise how many turns it hasOriginally posted by Kartik Shetty View PostWhich side to turn for rich mixture in fz carb? I feel I'm running on the leaner side
2. Adjust the idle screw into 1.5rpm
3. Turn the fuel screw clockwise until to the end
4. Now turn quarter by quarter where u get engine stall just stop
5. Check accelerator response it will b crispy and quick response
Note:- before that just warm the bike drive 5km minimum

Re: Yamaha FZ-16/ FZ-S
I recently had a 200km ride, which went all good, but noticed a slight accelerator slippage at higher speeds.
Now after few hours of parking, when started for a short distance ride, the bike's showing high power drop (or accelerator slippage i don't know what it is. )... Even on first gear the bike suddenly stops responding to accelerator and then picks up, but this time it's so worst that I couldn't ride even 1 km. Please Advice.

I'll make the symptoms more clearOriginally posted by dantisjoeshaji View PostI recently had a 200km ride, which went all good, but noticed a slight accelerator slippage at higher speeds.

Previously I felt like the bike is pulling itself back slightly for one second and then picking up quickly while maintaining constant high speed. (90 +). This happened once in a while only...
Now, the bike stops responding to accelerator even at lower speeds, dropping for longer durations and then picking up, but happens too often and at all speeds and gears. Can't speedup above 30 because of this. (I'm not sure what the issue is so unable to describe more. Ask me and I'll make things more clear.)
Please help

Re: Yamaha FZ-16/ FZ-S
I have an problem with my front disc brake with my FZ-S.
ODO reading is 3950kms.
Since 3 months ( I bought bike) , i see that my front disc brake is not as sharp as my peer's bike with disc brakes.
Even Honda Livo's disc brake is feeling better than FZ.
I went to svc guy and he used file to make the disc brake pads rough.
After that my brake started working as it should.
But in a week, the disc brake is again not working as it should.
What should I do next?

Yamaha Fz-250cc Engine in Fz-150cc ver. 2 aka fz-fi
Is it possible to convert Yamaha fz-fi 150cc to Fz fi 250cc by changing piston kit and other few stuffs?
If yes then what parts are required for that. And what will be the performance ?
Reason: I had Pulsar 180cc which i sold and i regret and bought Yamaha fazer 150cc. Now I'm not satisfied with its performance.

Re: Yamaha FZ-16/ FZ-S
Check clutch cable once and revert here. I am unable to guess any other parts since I'm unsure how old your bike is. Please post all other details about your bike w.r.t odo , last service etc.Originally posted by dantisjoeshaji View PostI'll make the symptoms more clear

Re: Yamaha FZ-16/ FZ-S
Most probably you clutch plates worn out time to replace the and use a good quality engine oil of recommended specification somewhat 20w40 grade engine oil for Yamaha fz. If this was happened means you drove your bike with less or burnt engine oil don't go for long drive with oil engine oil which has been used for 2000km specially on new engines for older engines 4000km engine oil change is the limit for new oil if want to go for long drive or as per the manufacturer manualOriginally posted by dantisjoeshaji View PostI recently had a 200km ride, which went all good, but noticed a slight accelerator slippage at higher speeds.

new bikes takes time. things to note never apply grease , oil , polish on Disk brakes (that circular disc attached to the wheel) it will cause malfunction and poor braking as well. and if you feel that disc brake slips andOriginally posted by drmjp93 View PostI have an problem with my front disc brake with my FZ-S.

not that much efficient then get it checked by mechanic and replace or fix what ever is appropriate or advised. since we are not there to diagnose the exact problem spare some time take a visit to mechanic instead of wasting your time online. at the end your mechanic has to fix your problem not the form. #fact

Re: Yamaha FZ-16/ FZ-S
I had applied grease, after that I had went to mechanic for 3 times at YAMAHA SVC , he did petrol wash and cleaned up. But still the Brakes r not as earlier. I shall ask for replacement next time.Originally posted by Pulsarboy180 View Postnew bikes takes time. things to note never apply grease , oil , polish on Disk brakes it will cause malfunction and poor braking as well. and if you feel that disc brake slips and

Re: Yamaha FZ-16/ FZ-S
Lol.. read what i wrote above again. "Never apply Grease". and you did it. its time to Replace your front tyre disc brake Pads with new. and not to do this mistake again. braking requires friction to stop a moving tyre. by appliying grease you reduced the friction of disc pad.Originally posted by drmjp93 View PostI had applied grease, after that I had went to mechanic for 3 times at YAMAHA SVC , he did petrol wash and cleaned up.
