I really don't ride in the normal riding condition to obtain the best mileage. I constantly rev it up above 80. But I think with Iridium, the bike shud give 42+ mileage if riding to the condition of sanityOriginally posted by Binoy View Post

I don't think the cop will agree for the FZ...Dude they cry for money and if the FZ does not give the mileage they want it will make even worse for them So i think Yamaha should just shut the F**K up and sell the bike to Ppl u really care and who can ride the bike's not some Cheap Cops who don't care...They should just stick to bike that give them mileage half the cops cant even ride straight and they tell us that we are breaking the rule's
sigpic
If you ride like there's no tomorrow, there won't be.

NO NO NO NO NO NO. I cant believe this is happening. No way. It cant be true. B'lore cops dont deserve the FZ. Heck they dont deserve TVS -50 s too...Originally posted by nand15 View PostHey guys , really interesting discussion on the rear sprocket , i will check mine as soon as i get my bike back from SVC after the 4th service . but by the way here's what i saw there wen i left my bike for service . FZ16 for the COPS . Checked out the spec sheet on the sly , ( they din't wanna show it . got into a lil bit of trouble wid da security for gettin pic , he was ok after i told him i had come to giv mine for service
), it's the same as our FZ's . this particular one is a demo bike , waiting for the approval from the police . Bear with the pic quality , thats all my ROKR can manage .
...
Just HAD to add this , wen i went the SVC was closed , this thing was jus gettin unloaded from the truck , i went around looking for a tea shop and by the time i got back , this bike was washed , dried and was getting polished

Everyone falls down, doesn't matter...
But its how fast you get up, that matters.....

thnx in advance
Hey Gautam. Make sure u tell them what are all the problems you are facing with the bike. If u had mentioned them here it would have been useful. Get the oil changed. I'm guessing you must be close to 1k km on your odo. I'd reco getting the chain cleaned too. Adjusting levers and brakes is something they are bound to do but mentioning that too wouldnt harm anyone. And if possible make sure they change the oil to whatever they say they are changing and not just top up or put in some shitty oil...Everyone falls down, doesn't matter...

thought it was only for the mumbai police...dont cops here have pulsars in various colours(white, cheetah etc)to serve them.Frankly speaking,FZ is not exactly a wise choice for these purposes...
It all begins with a thumb-start -- Oh, wait, I forgot the kill-switch

In the first 5000km of my friend's fz, the tuning was kept toward the maximum power and with rash driving he got 34-36 in city and 40 in highways.Reduce 1 km/hr speed, add 1second 2 ur life.

I don't know much about tuning except that the first time you get the bike from showroom, it comes pretuned toward maximum or near to maximum power. Same is the case when you give for service and not specify the tuning.
You can still turn 3-4 times the tuning screw toward maximum power setting.
I have also tried tuning it toward less power and the pickup is not so bad either.
I now get 50 plus mileage.Reduce 1 km/hr speed, add 1second 2 ur life.

176 for 3 litres would translate to 59 km for a litre. This would be surely great for a fazer. Were you riding in the highway or city?Originally posted by perestroika View Posthey guys... bought my fazer a few days back. the mileage im getting is quite good. Last checked, it gave me 176 kms for 3 ltrs. im measuring the mileage by reserve to reserve method. i never throttled the bike above 4500 rpm & 60 kmph.
will be getting the first servicing done this weekend.
