        hey guys,

am able to get somewhere around 110kmph and 40-45kmpl with my bike....
got it 4 months ago and have clocked 2800km including the days i met with an accident(no fault of the FZ though was not able to comprehend properly) and the bike was unused for almost one and a half months.....

how is it possible that some of the guys here are getting even above 125kmph....

can you tell me approx how much distance or time the bike took to reach that mark??
and also if anybody is using 50w headlamps do they create any problem?
from where can i get a Philips or Osram HID for my bike?

            • Chain lube + greese

              Hi all,

Last time when I went to my SVC, I told them that chain lube comes off very easily in 500km or so and I need something which can hold on to the chain for longer duration. He sprayed the Yamalube on chain, then greesed it with a pouch greese and then lubed it again with the Yamalube can.

Now even after 2k after that my bike's chain is still lubed like it was on that day.

Before the first servicing, i never went above 60kmph or 5000 rpm. I wanted to know if it would be ok to rev freely now or not. I tried revving freely yesterday but the bike was rattling like anything when it went above 5k rpm. i could not go above 70 kmph . i also noticed engine heating up more than normal & some knocking too.
                wondering why this is happening?
Remeber the engine is still young...800km and if this is the first time above 5000k then the engine is still needing time to settle in at higher rpm's

I say don't worry I changed at first service with no problems

in fact most of them suggest a run-in period till 2k kms!

                    • Yesterday did 450 km with 160kg payload and avg speeds 80-90 on highway with more than enough breaks [thanks to numb butts]. Mileage was as low as 32 km

                        • hi guys,

i think yamalube semi-synthetic is 15w50 which is not recommended for fz and

secondaly, one should use semi-synthetic atleast above 3000 kms

U can find out this by simply the feel of the bike...if the acceleration is sluggish then the bike is tuned to mileage ...if the bike revs and accelerates better than normal then the tuning is for power....on an average do a 420kms on 10 odd lits of fuel....so like 42kmpl...
