You can still turn 3-4 times the tuning screw toward maximum power setting.
I have also tried tuning it toward less power and the pickup is not so bad either.
I now get 50 plus mileage.
    50+
that's really great mileage for a bike like FZ...

Have you done the tuning all by yourself or asked the SVC guy to do that??

Not necessary. Mine was tuned for less power and more mileage without me telling them anything. I guess this varies from showroom to showroom.

He's talking about the A/F ratio screw....that determines the intake of fuel into the carb....
Its best if you dont fiddle with that....as by your asking i think you are not an expert in carb settings(no offence to you or your knowledge)...
Or for that matter ANYBODY who doesnt know what is he exactly doing....

But yeah you its okay...if you are all game for it and are doing it learn the trick of the trade.....it however will include failures and success

So think about it carefully....I THINK YOURS IS PRETUNED TOWARDS GOOD POWER and not for mileage given that rest of your bike is in top condition...
          cheers....

          • @ranjith : bro the air / fuel mixture screw is the golden coloured one located near on the carb . u can tune it yourself , but be prepared for a lot of trial n error , patience is important , else jus go to SVC .

anyway guys , got my bike back from 4th service , yesterday , went on an immediate 200 km run to Mysore , seems much better at high speeds . the engine seems totally refined and damn smooth . touched 115kmph , bike was rock solid .

And also got the tyre hugger replaced for 97 bucks ... , MRP is 110rs , but since i didn't give them the bolts (forgot to take it along ) , they didn't fit it and charged me 97 bucks ... .
People ask me , why are you cribbing about the BHP ? to them I say "MORE is never ENOUGH" xbhp.com

I did it myself. Visit the article on bike tuning at Indian Motorcycle Reviews & Bike News - **********.in by Deepak Raj. This is an excellent article about tuning. My only advice is try tuning the bike before the any of your service. It is always better to try tuning and if there's any problem, you can tell the svc.

Anyway wrong tuning can damage and overheat the engine.

bro , but u gotta be really careful , too many turns of the screw either side can kill your engine .

FZ16 for the COPS . Checked out the spec sheet on the sly , ( they din't wanna show it . got into a lil bit of trouble wid da security for gettin pic , he was ok after i told him i had come to giv mine for service ), it's the same as our FZ's . this particular one is a demo bike , waiting for the approval from the police . Bear with the pic quality , thats all my ROKR can manage . ...

Just HAD to add this , wen i went the SVC was closed , this thing was jus gettin unloaded from the truck , i went around looking for a tea shop and by the time i got back , this bike was washed , dried and was getting polished

dude that is fake man... did you notice the last pic?? the oil barrel for the front disk is broken and you say it was been given for trial.. i think its some movie set bike or some geeks... buying such a costly bike with little mileage makes no sense for a govt agency.. we been hearing about this for a long time since fz release..

i like the front shield like harley' concept, for long rides it keeps air off your chest... but ya this one is not so attractive

^^ +1 on that , but believe me , i asked the guys there , when this bike was being unloaded , they said it's a DEMO version , which IF approved by the cops goes into production . I even saw it in the book they had , which had the specs of the bike ,it was written very clearly that the bike is waiting approval . BUT still i'm seriously hopin the cops Don't approve of it .

@yellowspunk : bro the brake fluid reservoir ain't broken man , that's the shadow of the front windshield fallin on it ...

                            • Hi All,

Yesterday 1st time I used the MOTUL chain lube on my bike. I was surprised not to see a foam type setting on my chain after spraying the chain lube. Is anything wrong with my product or is it all ok??

The chain lube looks like an ordinary oiling after spray, that's why I'm a little worried

n BTW, my rear chain sprocket is marked 40T.

                              • This is urgent . How to check the battery level in fz 16 ? I checked the manual but it doesn't say anything about removing the panel front of the battery. Is it maintainence free one or not. I am not sure whether the svc has checked it.
