dude i was not comparing the bikes in any way...i kno the difference between the two....i was merely pointing out the fact that the engine cc is just one of the factors affecting the top speed of the bike and not the only factor....

I've done 122kmph, with NGK, and motul full-synth.
It's not what you ride, it's your attitude that counts.

              • My bike wears scratches mostly from dress and bag. I want to go for wax polishing. Can anyone please suggest which brand would be great and about the prices. I can spare upto 800-1000Rs. An everlasting effect would be great. have anyone tried applying wax coating?

On a personal note : I would suggest that since the ride is still new..better leave it running on stock chainset and experiment with gearing once they require change.
Any idea how much it would cost to change both the sprockets.. If the modifications id too costly then I might as well consider your suggestion to continue current chainset & modify at a later stage when required.

I know dude, 70-80 kmph is more then enough 4 me to ride in cities but when on freeways, I just cant tolerate below 100 when the roads are absolutely clear & free from traffic. Even while I was riding at 117 kmph, I had lots of empty stretch of the road & bike felt really stable so I felt like pushing it bit more but it was'nt possible at all after trying all the methods like crouching, gear shifts @ higher RPM's etc.

P.S I'm quiet a light rider dude, around 60 kgs..

Enough in city yaar, but bit uncomfortable below 100 on highways dude.. I mean I dont wanna race anyone, just want to enjoy the maximum speed I can.

but this will make ur bike little slow at startup. but will definitely touch 125...
you can also change engine oil to synthetic after second service preferably after 5000 kms. that will take away some of the friction drag. very tiny bit off it.
but ya u should be able to touch 125 and all this is reversible.
Can U or anyone else pls disclose some further info on what Sprocketing is all about?? I'v read on several threads & heard sprocketing really helps the acceleration initially but we hav to compromise the top speed.. Mu bike has just done 2000 kms so using Castrol Power1 semi synthetic so & it has been giving pretty good response so far. Dont wanna mess with air fuel mixture as far as possible coz I'm gettin decent mileage of 40 even after ripping so i intend to continue d same.

Dude, I was seriously considering K&N but after going thru the Air filters thread m lot worried to even consider K&N. However U can definitely throw some light on NGK iridium plugs.. There are no bad reviews abot them so far.

you mention your budget is around 3-4K if i remember ...but this thing should be somewhere around 1000Rs (approx)
the front would be for less than 100, rear should be max upto 300-400 or so, and chain for 400-500 i suppose.
Just because you haven't seen it doesnt mean its impossible...expect the unexpected.

Yeah, thats wat d problem is.. I'v been hunting for mechanics in mumbai but found a very few who actually kno wat K&N is still wen i askd many of dem if they can do the upjetting, the answer was they dont kno wat I'm talking about.. Yamaha guys dont allow such modifications apparently so hav no choice but to install K&N from any unreliable mech who might actually mess it up. Anyways besides the meaty exhaust sound, any noticeable difference in throttle response??

Where in mumbai can I get this done dude?? I inquired bout the same at Yamaha outlet & the guy said this cant be done.. I asked him to use R15 sprocket but he said it wont fit
