The CO levels are widely different, so 0.01% CO level seems achievable (what the PUC guy was talking about). O2 levels are similar. CO2 levels are also different, but I don't know if the difference is significant.

As suggested, I got it checked at another pollution testing center - Wakad Petrol Pump, Pune. The results are as follows.Originally posted by siddhant View Post

It's achievable. The CBR does have PAIR control valve, which is the secondary air injection which works from the head way to the exhaust manifold.Originally posted by ashwanth.r View PostBajaj's PDI says 1.5-2.5% CO for both Dominar 400 and RS 200. HMSI recommends 0.7-0.8% CO for BS4 (Carb) Hornet. 0.01-0.05% as claimed by the PUC guy seems very low for the CBR250R - is that even achieve-able ? What's worrisome here is the high O2, as pointed out by psr sir. CO2, I won't worry as CO + O2 -> CO2; but another thing to remember is CBR250R doesn't have secondary air injection (and so do other FI vehicles).
See, just as I said. Changing the center can sometimes give you the right result. If you're passed, then that's all that matters. Cold engines and hot engines will give different readings. So, as long as your values are under check, nothing to worry.Originally posted by siddhant View PostAs suggested, I got it checked at another pollution testing center - Wakad Petrol Pump, Pune. Second set of readings are more confusing to me. But 0.01% CO is extraordinarily low! We will wait for psr sir/VJ/s1d to comment.Originally posted by siddhant View PostAs suggested, I got it checked at another pollution testing center - Wakad Petrol Pump, Pune. EDIT1: So the secondary air is injected "after" the O2 sensor?Originally posted by B7ACKTHORN View PostIt's achievable. The CBR does have PAIR control valve, which is the secondary air injection which works from the head way to the exhaust manifold.

EDIT2: I get it now, it is injected normally like any other vehicle but the ECU is programmed to make adjustments. That means a defective PAIR system will affect the performance more compared to Carb vehicles!

Re: Honda CBR 250R
Exactly. A faulty PAIR system too can affect readings negatively. The PAIR injects fresh air to the exhaust port and dilutes the HC and hence makes it more emissions friendly. This is why mixtures are lean in modern engines.. Too high air concentration, partly due to air injection and the fuel mapping itself. In the CBR it's injected before the O2 sensor, so this means all the air is injected before the "O2 sensor".Originally posted by ashwanth.r View PostEDIT1: So the secondary air is injected "after" the O2 sensor?

Re: Honda CBR 250R
The link i posted to was the max permissible limits under law. Each vehicle will definitely have it's ideal manufacturer recommended range and which might vary with the engine size/fueling type/altitude etc.. Some bajaj service centers are equipped with the machine to check the CO levels and some even use that to 'tune' the carb.Originally posted by ashwanth.r View PostBajaj's PDI says 1.5-2.5% CO for both Dominar 400 and RS 200. I think the cbr does have a SAI(PAIR) system. and i believe now some bs4 Fi bikes are also getting sai. SAI has been on many carb bikes since a long time now.
Not sure how that CO level was calculated.. it indeed seems low and good, i dont think you have any reason to worry. If it does not pass the test, usually the software will report and you cannot print the puc (atleast that's how it is here in hyderabad)Originally posted by siddhant View PostAs suggested, I got it checked at another pollution testing center - Wakad Petrol Pump, Pune. whats surprising is the 0 reading for HC
I've seen puc centers with defunct equipment giving out the puc
(e.g. once in the past my Dio registered 0 value and they issued the puc, cops care less about the values, all they want is to see that puc slip). On the puc that i get here in hyderabad, the only two values mentioned are CO and HC (which i have shared earlier from my ktm d200)
Like I said, maybe someone who has a CBR can post their readings or a pic of their PUC slip.Last edited by s1d; 10-30-2019, 01:11 AM.

Re: Honda CBR 250R
Need help in buying a windshield. I have a 2014 Red CBR250R ABS. Currently I have the stock windshield installed. I need a taller, more upright windshield to prevent wind blasts while touring. I have also modded my seat, so it is 2 inches taller than stock. Can anybody guide me to any links or shops which have such windscreen in stock? Checked on aliexpress but i am not sure about the height of the windscreen and the fittings. any help would be highly appreciated.

I am not sure of the measurements around the ones sold in India, but for the most part these are sourced from China and sold at double the prices, it's that simple.Originally posted by Avikynwa View PostNeed help in buying a windshield. Custom build motorcycle accessories and riding engineered and made in India. Bandidos is the ultimate home for all things motorcycles. From safety gear like helmets, riding jackets and shoes, gloves to accessories including mirrors.
The one on this website in India is the same one sold in Aliexpress at 680 rupees, here in India it's upwards of 1.6k. Secondly, if you would like to have a better one, start off by searching the PUIG site and try to narrow it down to the replicas in Aliexpress. You get good stuff from Aliexpress, and comparatively cheaper.
Cheers!

Re: Honda CBR 250R
I am looking to change tyres from Michelins to MRF masseter.
Masseter- X is available in standard size for rear [140/70- 17]
But I just learnt that for CBR250R masseter version of tyre is not available for the front [110/70- 17].
Does anybody have alternate suggestions ? I do not want to change the dimensions for the stock.
Thank you.sigpic

Re: Honda CBR 250R
Just picked up the EBC double H sintered pads yesterday for 3290/- for ABS Front.. will update after installation soon.
Stock front ABS pads lasted little over 17k kms but stock rear is about to give up in under 10k kms.. is it normal?? probably I'm resting my foot on the brake lever inadvertently
