Welcome to the club bro. Do a proper Run-in.
    Exactly!

Yep, will do. I'll surely stick to the manual. Any queries, I'll be sure to ask you guys.

I feel lots of vibration on both the side parts of the fuel tank and minor vibration on the left side foot peg . I feel the vibration once the RPM needle touches 4k RPM ( in all gears mark and when after it crosses i don't feel any vibration in the tank as well as foot peg !

        Regarding mileage -

        I reset the Trip - 1 when "1" point completely vanished . And i traveled a distance of 60 km's ( with pillion and on city traffic including bumper-bumper traffic and @ the minimum speeds of 10 - 30 km/hr and maximum 70 - 82 km'hr ) I was shocked when another point vanished completely when i completed 60 km's on Trip - 1 . Thus the mileage dropped from 37km/liter ( in doubles ) to 30 km/liter ( in doubles )

Note - ( When i rode solo , it returned me 42.5 km/liter , same city rides and speed limits ) . The showroom guys said it will deliver 35 km/liter when ripping ( on solo ). But , if i start to rip ( on doubles ) means it will return me only 20-25 km/liter , Ah

I am not happy with the mileage , what it returned yesterday night . I maintained correct air pressure ( 30 psi / 35 psi ) and my chain was lubed @ 500 km's only ! Is there any problem regarding with my fuel injector or what ?

        Please help me guys !
only the full tank method give the exact Fe

          • The dream comes home!

Guys, I've been waiting till yesterday evening to share this with all of you! Yes, the dream comes home! Got my 50th Anniversary baby last night! Will post pics soon! Planning for a photoshoot!

I have no words to express my happiness! After all the stories the dealer was cooking up and delaying the delivery for weeks, I now have my baby R! One of the happiest moments in my life! I couldnt move away from my White Angel. She is so irresistable!

Honestly, its a SUPERBIKE minus the insane power that we dont need on Indian roads! The riding stance is almost identical to the only superbike ive sat on - Honda FireBlade. Even the engine firing and sound are super radical!

But the Yamaha R series needs no words! It looks too SEXY! The fairings are heavy and massive! Lovin' it! The build quality, engine, technology and sexed out looks makes this machine worth every penny spent!

            Questions
            1. I've done a full tank and air pressure (28, 33 psi) as soon as I got it. Can someone explain to me the full tank method for calculating FE? Thanks!
            2. Neutral gear comes on easily when we shift to 2nd and slightly tap it down. However, its not coming on at times when we try to shift slightly up from 1st.
            3. Theres a constant whistling sound from the fairings! (I think this is normal because i read it in the previous pages somewhere, anyways just clarifying again)
            4. Now, this, I'm pissed off about. My bro wanted to ride it and took me out nearby. I was sitting as pillion. We travelled only a couple of kms. After clear instructions not to cross 5k RPM, he did it. He touched 8k RPM once and 7k RPM twice. He accelerated hard. But only for a few seconds. He touched a max. speed of 75 k/hr. Then he was mostly under 5k RPM and less than 50 k/hr.
            ODO: 64 kms.

->Now, I swear I will never give my bike to him again till i complete my Engine Break-In period(1000kms). But what he did to a brand new vehicle on Day One. Is it okay?

            5. After all this, obviously the radiator fan kicked in and whoa, its quite noisy but hot! So yeah, I let my baby go to sleep. My question: This will be pretty normal in the break-in period right? Frequent heating up of engine and fan kicking-in?

Will get back to you guys after some more riding. I've bunked office today just to enjoy my first day with my baby.

            Update(Day One):
            1. Took her out sometime back. No issues with the neutral gear now. Buttersmooth gear shifting as well.
            2. Took her to a max. of 5k RPM/60 kmph. Is this fine? Or do I need to lower my limits a little?
            3. What is the recommended warm-up time? i did 30 seconds engine idling
            4. For now I'm feeling some pain in my palms. I hope more extensive riding will NOT bring backpain and wrist pain. A friend of mine recommended hugging the fairings with my legs.

LOL!! Is your leg too long to reach the fairing.?? Hold the tank with your leg. Once you get the perfect seating position, pains are vanished

No I think I touched 70kmph too! I live on an IT highway in Chennai, its just hard to go slow on any bike!

Nah. My height is only 5'7. My legs are not long. Also, I feel comfortable for now as I have not ridden it much. Yep, will experiment and see how it is when I ride for at least an hour.

And Thanks! Glad to know my bike will be okay after last night.

Exactly what I feel about it, but if does start to feel a little slow, you can have it modded to make it much faster and Congratz

                  • Proper Riding Position for the R15

After a series of pains and posture problems, I found this on another forum, I think it helps, especially for new riders
A "proper" riding position is the balls of your feet on the pegs and you forearms as close to level with the ground as you can get. This is very difficult with many SS machines as you have to be in a full tuck to level off your arms. However once you get used to it, it is sort of a default. When you are getting ready to crank up the tempo you will find yourself naturally adopting this posture. It keeps your grip lose, you core supporting you and your body properly balanced ...and most importantly your feet from getting stuck between the pegs and the ground.

Sticking your elbows out is an old dirt trick used to better absorb front end impacts, I've never used it since I started riding street. On the note of dirt tricks I keep two fingers on the clutch and front brake at all times with my clutch lever adjusted 1" off the grip. Likewise I adjust the brake lever so a point where I can keep my fingers on it completely through the throttle travel.

It'll take you a bit to figure out what works for you. Position and control adjustments are personal things and what works for one rider may not for the next.
                    The original discussion

I haven't managed to do "full tuck" which is virtually a motoGP style, but even without that, this there aren't any pains to battle when following this system. Hope it helps.

congo bud one more LE take good care, dont be too hard on the bike and dont keep thinking of Rpm's or speeds and ruin your ride. just dont forget to enjoy the ride i mean. once or twice increasing the rpms or speed little more wont matter much.

I haven't much ghat experience, the only time I was driving up a slight incline I found the top speed was stuck around 120, still pretty good if you ask me
