  • I have some issues in my bike recently after a repair in SVC. Nothing was changed in the repair, the engine was just opened up to check for some damage since it was overheating a lot due to leaky valve. And also the Engineer from Yamaha said he has checked the ecu for issues. After that-
    1. Sudden drop of FE to 33 from usual~40kmpl.
    2. Lack of power after 9k Rpm or absolutely no power after that.
    3. Tops just ~125kmph against usual 140kmph(speedo indicated).

I have given my bike again for checking.
I feel the AFR has been played with. Someone has any opinion about this?

              • Hi All,

Something very peculiar happened on my recent trip to Agra from Delhi. While going towards Agra, bike felt under-powered after 125 kmph, it was very hard to go beyond 130 and impossible to go beyond 135.
While coming back bike felt way better and 135 was piece of cake and I attained the top speed of 142 with some slip-streaming. But I just don't understand why the difference? Might be petrol but still...

                Thanks,
                Akshay

                  Might be the wind factor..

Just got the bike after service. Its all back to normal, changed rear wheel and sprocket bearings , rear disk pad, and regular servicing along with valve clearance checking.
@Eshan, the valve clearance checking is free.

It would be very nice if you give the split and total cost. I, as a prospective buyer, want to know about it.

Old folklore with no grounding in facts . Which world are you living in my friend? I have split more engines than I care to remember and nothing has gone for a "toss". Please arm your self with 'facts' before spreading such folklore and misinformation.

Just curious; how much has your bike run? My bike has completed 3 years and over 19,000 km. I had check the bearings at 16,000 km and re-greased them. Otherwise they were ok. Should be good for 40,000 km with periodic maintenance.

Well I too know that it will last very long, but in the past week I ran 2000kms+ and my friends coming behind me said there was a slight wobble in the rear wheel and sprocket. Didnt take any chance, got it changed.

                            • My CO value has been set as 7. When asked why i got a curious reply that this improves performance.
Now considering the fact that my location's altitude is 410m above sea level what should be the ideal value to be set for stock?
