Yes, i thought that too and have already gone through tappet adjustment and the bike was running fine until this happened. Roughness is still there beyond 6.5k rpm and vibrations too are more pronounced than before.Originally posted by shaneadams View PostI felt the same problem in my friends r15 but it is not because of tappet valve . But mine doesn't giving such rough noise.

There's one thing though i switched from Xtra premium to regular petrol from the last two refueling just to check the difference in engine performance. Could that be the cause?

i don't its the fuel. in anycase the recommended fuel for R15 is regular not premium.Originally posted by abhinesh4r15 View PostYes, i thought that too and have already gone through tappet adjustment and the bike was running fine until this happened. i think its best to show it to a good mechanic at the SVC.
btw, have you checked the coolant level?

Yes you are right coz i use only normal petrol from the beginning and there is no engine roughness felt.Originally posted by incipient View Posti don't its the fuel. in anycase the recommended fuel for R15 is regular not premium.

Can u suggest how to topup coolant oil. It will be good if there is some picture or video tutorial for that.
Does the fog lamp serves the purpose? Or just for show off?Originally posted by sidmall View Post

^^Not a fog light, try it in dense fog i'll bet you'll be walking your bike, it's called a side light, parking light or pilot light all vehicles have them, usually they're used at dusk, very cloudy conditions or light rain the purpose is so other road users can see you, doesn't make much difference as nobody bothers to look anyways. I believe they were originally introduced as parking lights.Last edited by stefanm; 05-07-2013, 04:02 PM.Beware of Bread, don't say I didn't warn you!
More than 98 percent of convicted criminals are bread eaters !
Statistics show that more than 75 % of violent crimes are committed within 24 hours of eating bread !
Bread is known to be extremely addictive. Subjects deprived of bread and given only water, actually begged for bread after just two days !
Bread has been proven to kill. Scientists have now uncovered alarming evidence that 100% of the people who eat bread will eventually die !

Re: Yamaha YZF-R15 version 2.0
sorry for being pedantic but coolant is not oil. its essentially a mixture of etylene glycol (alkaline) and water (either premixed or mixed separately).Originally posted by shaneadams View PostCan u suggest how to topup coolant oil. haven't had a need to top up the coolant on my bike so far, so can't help you there.
a top up is required if the coolant level in the coolant reservoir gets close to the low level mark (this check is to be done when the engine is cold).
check the manual, if it isn't explained there then you can download the 'yamaha R15 service manual' from the net.Last edited by incipient; 05-07-2013, 05:53 PM.

When and how to replace the coolant or radiator fluid of Yamaha YZF R15 | Nex Gen Bikes
or just take out the left black stripe which is under riders seat.
you will get the coolant filling cap and hope you can go with further process.

Hey dude. It helped a lot.
thanks.
Still have one doubt - Whether we have to topup the coolant in the 'coolant reserviour or in the ' radiator' ?

Re: Yamaha YZF-R15 version 2.0
Guys got my ride back
As good as new except few niggles.
Headlight is not focusing on road, its shining high. But its fitted properly as of I checked. Should I adjust the focussing screw for this?? Or its not fitted properly??
And the lower fairing ( the white part in sunset red ) is different. So yamaha sticker is missing. Can I get those stickers separately?? It kinda looks awkward
And engine is heating a lot than before. Il check the coolant though and inform
Please help guys. Its better to sweat than bleed!! "AGATT "

Dont do the focussing yourself unless you know about it. You could mess up with the lighting. Go to svc and do it.Originally posted by siddharthsure View PostGuys got my ride back

Re: Yamaha YZF-R15 version 2.0
Yes, They might know. But do it in the night for better outcome. Apart from the adjusting screws you see outside, there are a pair in the inside too. Check that too. The one you can see is height adjusting only.Originally posted by siddharthsure View PostThanks bro
