      • that impulse with a karizma engine looks interesting!!!

getting a scrapped karizma engine should not b a really big problem, i know of a mechanic near my shop who has a karizma dat i hav only seen him use as a table to keep his tools.
if anyone wants to do this in pune den let me know, i can ask the mechanic if he is willing to sell.

        • Is it indeed a straight fit? Am told the head has a different kind of a mount?

            • Friends,
Is anyone able to find a permanent fix for fork noise issue ( when it goes over a sharp bump). I suspect it is coming from lower part of the steering but not able to pinpoint it. Hero service guys are hopeless.

              • Havn't talked with service center about the problem which unfortunately persists in my impulse too. actually it doesn't bother me too much, may be thats why i still havn't tried to rectify this problem and living with it.

                • well no cure in sight, infact @ 1st service i had told them to look into it and they detached the handlebar tightened the cone and all but to no avail. infact i regret the decision of having them open up the steering, as i feel the bike vibes a bit now, not as planted in the road as it used to be

i feel the TUCKKK sound comes from the fairing/speedo console. sounds like plastic hitting together or something

                  btw
yesterday at college when i parked by bike after reaching.. after 28kms constant riding.. the engine gets hot as hell, i feel it even through my shoes..
the gardener (a jolly old man) was walking past by with his toolkit and a bucket of cold water on his shoulder and he spilled it onto my bike by mistake
the water violently evaporated like on a hot fry pan, steam all around.. the maali apologised and left, but i m a bit worried.. is there any sudden permanent damage to the engine? you know, burning hot metal coming into contact with cold water..

Even my bike gets very hot on the right side of the engine after some 15-20 km of city rides. It is actually more on this side because of the exhaust routed close to cylinder. One doesn't find same amount of heat on left side.
                    Thats okay, I guess.

I don't think a splash of water on outside will do any harm, its not a painted surface even. So, thats okay, Bro.

                      • Karizma's engine in Impulse is really interesting. Have been discussing this since some days.

Satyen and Niks, if possible meet this guy and check how good it is.

                        • Impulse with a zma engine is really really interesting, I am trying to guess the power to weight ratio and since the bike is light, what would be the fuel consumption? And also zma's gearing is tall, so what would be effective cruising and top speeds ?,
Is zma's engine really so small to fit into an impulse ?, from the pics it looks like a tailor made engine.

even i have the same query.. i get tired of lugging my laptop bag on my back

the impulse feels so tempting for some mods, attachments for long distance riding.. i sometimes keep checking out websites of yamaha super tenere, ducati multistrada.. and the varied kind of accessories u can buy fr them! :droooool:

i did not push my impulse as she crossed her run in only about 50 kms from the start. but i clocked around 85( rider+pillion) at some stretch on the good roads. luggage was tied up at the rear carrier space as there is no scope to put anything on the fuel tank. i think she will not go beyond 95 kph. one should understand here that the bike is 150 cc and tuned for good torque not top end. i am pretty happy to see my bike the way she is and i am planning to do some long rides 300 kms + on her shortly.

fuel economy i am getting about 48 kpl good and around 38 kpl off road.
