Yesterday I have observed one interresting thing. After washing the Bike I took it for a small night ride. after only 3-4 minutes I stopped. I was trying to clean some dust from the headlight glass with my hands - and I was surprised!! The glass was damn hot, and I don't mean warm - it's hot. I have checked the thing today also and the same result. Can anybody see if this is happening with their bikes also?? Is this normal??___________________________________________

I think I know of another case of cracked tank. It happened as the bike tipped over to one of its sides. No scratches whatsoever anywhere - except for 1 inch long hair line crack - starting at the fuel cap and tapering outwards.
Harsha - did your bike fall?

Hello folks,
The bike is an attention seeker and many ppl try to sit on the bike and move it around a bit.was wondering to get disc lock and saw abt xena in tbhp.but xena was very expensive for me.today while coming to railwY stn i saw a pulsar in parking with disc lock-jugaad style.one lock(normal lock put on doors) was simPly locked in one of the disc holes.does its job and pretty cheap.
Any guys searching for a cover for the duke can go for the karizma cover.fits perfectly.Motorcycling heals, big time...

Engine ICE costs about 1300 INR for 1.8 liter whereas the default Motul one costs about 300 - 330 for 1 litre. You can topup or change the Coolant anytime. But never mix different types of Coolant. Though the RVMs are not the best in terms of usefulness, but trust me, a little adjustment of the nuts holding the RVMs will make it decent. Only angle adjust won't do.
Nope; Engine Coolant is like Engine oil, you need to topup often and sometimes change too. So, noway you can save money here.
You won't feel any less heat after topping up the coolant. See, the thing works somehow like this - Engine crosses some threshold temperature and the radiator fan starts - coolant draws away heat from the engine to get this below the threshold level - temp comes below the cutoff and fan stops. But in any case the wind pushed by the fan will draw the heat from engine and reach your legs. Also the engine oil is never a culprit here. Not sure why the mechanic reduced the idle RPM also.
Please change it to the recommended level soon.
ok il buy that coolant and get it filled fully during 1st service , til then i need to burn my legs
.
he reduced the rpm to 1000-1100 as before it was fluctuating between 1400-1500 rpm

Not just chennai dude.. almost every1 will require a good coolant..Originally posted by sivigshankar View PostThanks for the information Shv.
Is this pre-mixed ?
I emailed PBK Customer care and they asked me to contact the PBK ASC. Will take the bike over the weekend and figure out what they have to say about this. Crossed the ASC a couple of times today and yesterday, was lost in thought so missed taking the bike in
I am sure there'll be lot of takers given the heat will become unbearable during Chennai Peak Summer which starts in about a week or so. I am IN, however, am based in Chennai, not sure how we can work this out.
Thanks Mountain for your time and efforts on this. Kawasaki Tech. Motorcycles.. that's interesting .. wonder who else thinks like this.

and bike is stopping and i need to rev hard to let go off the bike from 1st gearEngine Ice Coolant is said to be very effective. reduces temp by 5-10'COriginally posted by hunkofgals View Post^ ^ we have a temp of 40'C now and the engine is getting heated within 5 mins
dont know what to do
cant even ride the bike
some one please help me out
and is this the coolant which all were talking about , which was used in some of joel's customized bike i think an R17 of abhimanyu ?
is this the same coolant ?
U can ask SVC guys to flush out old coolant and clean the tank and then put in Engine Ice Coolant
Which shops are u going at bro? also let me know.. even i want to buy paddock stand.. I might even make 1 from the fabricator nearby.. the 1 used at the SVC is costing about 7-8KOriginally posted by joshzma225 View Post@inder.cool checked the prices on the phone today in Singapore,
Here's the price list if you dare:-
1)Tank LEDs>$237
2)CrashPads Front or Rear Per Pair>$66
3)Tail Tidy Kit(Not the RG one)>$479
4)Front Wave Rotor Disc(Orange)>$457
5)Orange Anodized Handle Bar>$220
6)Front Disc Brake Reservoir CNC Aluminum machined Orange color>$99
7)Rear Disc Brake Reservoir Cover Orange>$77
8)Headlight mask> $457
>>Consider that the crash pads that cost Rs.2220/- in India cost [email protected]= Rs.2798.40 So its 21% costlier than in India...so if you apply the same idea to the other parts, they aren't gonna be any cheaper in India WHEN they arrive!!! I was really upset to find out these ridiculous prices!!!
@Shubz. No don't worry bro it's not a bother :-) In fact thanks for reminding me!!! I'll try heading to the shop by Saturday to find out about the grips, I hope they're ATLEAST priced reasonably :-s
gonna check for paddock stands and even crash pads for front fork and swing arm for the KTM at the local bike stores this Saturday too!
BTW! KTM 125 Duke cost Singapore $12,000/- On Road here!!! @Rs.42.40 DO THE MATH :-o
cool pics dude.. how much did it cost to you?Originally posted by scbra View PostHi, what is the model of your SOL helmet... it looks cool... I could not get a suitable one to go with my Duke, so I got it custom painted... pics attached
i asked one of their experts if Motul 300V 15W50 will do or not.. he said that he will have to look at the details of that and if it is okay then it can be used in the DukeOriginally posted by AnupamOnWheels View PostI'm sure the ASC guyz will think otherwise. From my experiences and stories heard - they love to stick to what is recommended. BTW Motul 300V is better suited for higher displacement high power bikes. For Duke even the 7100 will work absolutely fine without fail.
Though theoritically 15WX is a substitute of 20WX but the ASC guyz surely can delay or reject your claim for warranty if they want. So, don't do that in front of them or by informing them. In case situation arises and you need to file claim change it to Motul and present the Bike to them.

Rs4550/- for the helmet... and No. It does not have any LEDs. I used some of the orange reflective stickers left from the ones used on the RIM. Its hardly noticeable that the helmet has some stickers on it. But they light up well in night if light is thrown on the helmet.Originally posted by m@v View PostNice match buddy.BTW how much did SOL cost and does this have the LEDs as well.
