Re: KTM 200 Duke
There are two types of adhesive.one is the normal one which to dry completely takes around 3-4 hrs.the other is called the "Fast curing paste".Originally posted by s1d View Post4-5 hours ? where did you come up with such numbers ?
It hardly takes less than an hour for it to set and you can ride normally immediately after the gasket is fixed with the gasket sealant. how do i know? because I have had it attempted to first fix it without sealant and second time with sealant.. the second time has totally eliminated any sign of leakage.
Even otherwise, one can normally go on a 400km tour. I've done even longer runs with the leak and its a non issue. the leak is too tiny and too minimal.

you can, but try not to ride above 7500 constantly. you can keep it at around 80kmph with short bursts to 100. fyi, the 200 does exactly 100kmph at 7500rpm in 6th gear
With that paste it takes less time and can be dried within an hour.I think you got the fast curing paste when you had the issue.
All svcs doesn't have it.very few. Here in Bangalore the Khivraj Kasturba has it.

Hey Guys!
Just checked out a new D200 and noticed that the headlight switch is nullified from new motorcycles and the headlight will be on as soon as you switch the ignition on and wil stay on.
Just for everyone's information, learned this just today; thought i should share.

Apparently that is the only change between the 2015 and 2016 version... :POriginally posted by prathjazz View PostHey Guys!

the common stuff used by mechanics is anabond or threebond gasket maker/sealant. this is usually the orange stuff.Originally posted by xplod566 View PostThere are two types of adhesive.one is the normal one which to dry completely takes around 3-4 hrs.the other is called the "Fast curing paste".

ktm folks use a specific sealant that is made by loctite (marked something like 'made for bajaj'). bajaj themselves supply this to the dealerships. it comes in grey tube and the sealant is also greyish in color. it appears to be specifically made for use around rubber type of gaskets which are usually found around the valve cover area, whereas the orange stuff is used along(or in place) of paper gaskets (e.g clutch side or crankcase gaskets).
this loctite stuff seems to set a bit differently than the threebond gasket, in that it cures to a slightly flexible rubbery consistency (like a rubberband) while the threebond usually ends up a lot drier to the touch and is a pain to peel off if used excessively.
I have used both (the threebond/anabond on my rx) and their curing times is well under an hour.

Check for other nuts in that area...bcz these are the ones that get loosened on normal wear-n-tear.
I normally tour and ride in city with the stock setting. As far as I know this setting is the best...Not too soft for cornering nor too hard for long rides.
If you want to change the setting get in touch with the nearest SVC... they have a tool with which u can change it easily. And, try not to hammer it. The suspension is a costly part to replace if you spoil it hammering.

You can flush engine oil using a product from Bosch check in flipkart. It's a blue container.
You can do it once in 1-2yrs...
I got my chain cleaned (OVS), lubed ( Motul) and tightened from SVC now no noise and it's smooth they charged me 420₹.
Where as I got big bottle of Motul chain lube and clean for 1000₹.
No sounds or anything.
Got it services from Mogappair KTM there a guy named Vignesh he is really cool in taking care of he machine and explaining things when ever we ask an doubt.
Is there anyway I can tight the chain ? DIY
I am cleaning and lubing the chain by myself from now. SVC price is absurd.

Yes hand guards 1200₹Originally posted by Shourya014 View PostDo you know any site where we can buy hand guards?

390 Handle bar 800₹
But remember you have to source 390 bar ends which comes in two pieces. I am not able to source them past over a 1 month.
I got the hand guard and handle bar fixed somehow. But it needs " NEW MODEL" d390 bar end weights to fit properly.
If anyone can source these from there city I can pay u guys for that and the courier 😁

I think 99% of the time it's the loose chain that creates that irritating rattling noise.
There are videos in YouTube to tighten the chain.
Also sending a pic for your reference.
I use a paddock for mine. It's better to buy a paddock stand... It will simplify the chain maintenance DIY.
You can contact/pm my buddy paradoxr9019. He can help you procuring a new paddock at dead cheap price.Last edited by jeshurun99; 03-05-2016, 01:29 AM.

Re: KTM 200 Duke
Hi,
I am relatively very new to this forum. I recently got KTM DUKE 200. Thanks to Samarth for helping me make this choice! (and I am loving it!)
Before I could write my review I noticed something on my bike's wheel yesterday. I am new to biking experience and I am not aware of many things so far. I know I will take time
. So here's what I noticed on the rim on my bike's wheel - weight balances. I had seen it but I did not know what it is until my friend highlighted it yesterday. Before I call up KTM showroom where I purchased by bike from I thought of taking opinion from experienced guys here. They could easily fool me with some excuse may be.
So is it normal to have weight balance on the wheel of new bike?
Any other KTM Duke friend who had this on the time of purchase?
Attaching images.
