since you have a busted fork seal, here is what you can do when you are getting the fork seal replaced.
since the wheel will be removed anyway, have them remove the brake pads and check if it is too worn, if ok, then just have them rub the pads on sandpaper
Also get the caliper cleaned with some diesel (or just soap+water)and finally the disc washed or wiped down with soapy water and finally bleed the brake line.
if the pads are worn out, replace the pads (but do clean the caliper, rotor and bleed the line)

worst case you might need to replace the rotor (i had mine replaced twice, once due to noise and once recently cause it was warped). i almost use only the front brakes 90% of the time.

coming to the cost of fork seal replacement, if your bike is under warranty all you need to pay for is the fork oil. each fork oil bottle costs 50rs (160ml) and you will need 3 bottles (minus 30ml) since each fork leg takes 450ml.
i too had the right fork seal busted and got it fixed a few months ago and paid only for the oil. they will try to bill you for everything but be smart and tell them it must be done under warranty and that you know people who have got it done under warranty i might have pushed for the fork oil also under warranty but the billing guy (with whom i had a good rapport no longer works at this svc) told me their systems wont accept oil under warranty since its a 'consumable'. and i din't want to appear too arrogant and spoil my rapport with the svc folks over rs.150 (because at times they do small stuff for free)

        Hi all,
I have a crazy request. Instead of opting for my first paid service, I have decided to self service my D200. I have done some good research and I am thinking of doing the following things on my own.

        1. Oil Change
        2. Oil, Fuel and Air filter change.

Have anyone done these things on your own. If yes, kindly let me know your experience in doing the things. And I also have the following queries.

        1. What is the engine oil capacity for Duke 200? How much litre of oil should I be using during oil change?
        2. I have clocked around 10,000 Kms and do I have to change my break pads or Sparkplugs. Please let me know the time interval for changing the sparkplugs, clutch and accelerator cables and breakpads.
        3. At what Km should i change my Engine coolant.

        Thanks in advance.
        The ride defines it..!!!

you can/must. the services are supposed to be carried out within the given intervals (km's or number of days, whichever comes EARLIER) to keep warranty intact.

considering the normal 'km' for second free service is 8500km (1st at 1000) and you have only done 5500km in 120 days(which is the limit for max no. of days between services) you are supposed give it for service to keep warranty intact. though you might not need to replace the spark plug since its done less km. but do get the other items replaced.. oil and all three filters.
but if you have done very less on the odo (like around 3000km) then just go in for service as a formality, i don't think replacing oil/filters is required.. just ask the svc.(though you will need to get them replaced later at the required interval)

              Hi Guys,

              Please suggest

Friday Morning when i start my Bike it refuses, Only the crank sound from starter was coming, Later after multiple attempts it finally started but was turning off.
and when again attempted to start it took around 5Sec of self to start up and the same happened again it was turning off.

Some how managed to keep it on by raising the Throttle, Thinking its acceleration issue took it to SVC or Bangalore (Marathalli).

As it was due for 1st payed service asked the SVC Guy to service it and also to look into the issue, They said it will be taken care by evening.
And yes when i was on my way to SVC the bike felt as if i was riding a Spleendar, Their was no power post 4000RMP basically bike was not going beyond 40KMP

SVC first said its Fuel Pump issue - Pressure seems to be ok by Pump
Later they said it's clutch plate issue - Later they said Clutch plate is ok
Now form 2 Days they keep saying we are checking the Enign step wise and trying to sort the issue.

Please suggest if anyone of you have came across such things and what can be the resolution

current Bike status 22k KMP 14Months On Road

Now when called SVC on Monday they say we done have a Fuel hose seems to be the issue as it is not passing/Sprinkling as they say it to engine. the New time of bike delivery requested by SVC is for wednesday.
Guys, Just received my complete bike after multiple mails and communictions.KTM says it was a new issue for them, Crank shaft was broken. as bike was under warranty the same was replaced.

              Appricate the effort from KTM.

Please suggest if after this Replacment do i have to care the bike as i did in Run-in-Preiod or can i use it normaly as bike seams to performe as if its just out of showroom. Same hardness and the music has also changes, in love with it, Sounds same as it was in Run-In-Period

                crank shaft broken !! seriously?!
probably bearing failures? could you post the list of parts that were replaced ?

ride it normally (not rip it constantly) for a few 100km, not because of run in but because you want to be sure the repair is holding up.
you can gradually unleash the monster. call it a run-in or whatever..

                    Hey Guys,

I clicked a total of 16500kms on my Duke 200.
The ride so farhas been very smooth with no major issues as such..
I noticed groves appearing on my rear disc a couple of months back and took her to the service centre in Navi Mumbai.
Those guys opened the rear disc assembly and removed the pads.
They inspected, cleaned and re-inserted them saying that the pads are fine.
I asked how those groves are appearing, and the guy was like sometime dust particles cause it to happen, we have cleaned it and the same won't get worse... 😂😂😂😂
Also he taught me to see how much life is left in the pads, that I appreciate.
Today I just rubbed my hands on the disc and i felt those groves to have gotten deeper. Not sure if they actually have or it's just me..
However, thinking about it, I am eager to know what may have cause this in the first place.
                    Anybody else experienced the same?
                    Somebody please enlighten me...

                      your mechanic was right.
it's normal wear and tear, nothing to worry. i have it on my rotors too.
                      some tips:
do not ride the brakes i.e. do not rest your foot on the brake pedal
also try and clean the disc with some soapy water every other day.. it will minimize the dust build up.

I use to toe on peg while riding.. besides the duke lever is kinda un-comfortable to rest your toes on them...
Advise taken, gonna add soap to the water I use everyday..

Grooves form on almost all disc rotors, over time. They are amplified by excessive one way brake usage, such as rear most of the time. What you need to consider is the thickness of the rotor, there is a minimum thickness measurement provided in your rotor, something like "3.5 mm to 4.5 MIN TH" (differs from bike to bike) check the current thickness with the manufacturer recommended thickness on the rotor. If the run out is more than 2mm from the rotor provided specs, it's time to change the rotor.

Scored or stepped rotors can cause unwanted squeal and if you've changed your brake pads new, your new pads will wear at a faster rate than your old pads due to excessive friction and uneven wear caused by scored rotors.

                            Cheers!
                            VJ
Once upon a time, a guy asked a girl 'Will you marry me?'
                            The girl said, 'NO!'

And the guy lived happily ever after and rode motorcycles and watched sport on a big screen TV, went fishing and surfing, and played golf a lot, and drank beer and scotch and had tons of money in the bank and left the toilet seat up and farted whenever he wanted.
