Oh, I haven't skimped on these.

1. This is my riding jacket
2. Gloves
3. Riding pants
4. Neck protector, because why not

Also, I'm a careful rider. No racing-vacing for me; cruising at a steady pace is my style [Yes, I understand that a collision doesn't need two drivers to make a mistake, but still.]

As for riding boots, I have been told that any sufficiently sturdy pair of hiking shoes (like the ridiculously strong shoes one gets at Woodland, Decathlon etc) should do the job. Is that true? (I'm not too keen on dropping another 5k on boots that will take about 3-4 weeks to reach me :/ )

Rover Bike Tracker - Motorcycle tracker to track live location of bike

Though there are other third-party GPS trackers available online, you can perhaps consider it at your own discretion, as most of them are either made in China and can be dicey.

Cheers!

Once upon a time, a guy asked a girl 'Will you marry me?'
The girl said, 'NO!'

And the guy lived happily ever after and rode motorcycles and watched sport on a big screen TV, went fishing and surfing, and played golf a lot, and drank beer and scotch and had tons of money in the bank and left the toilet seat up and farted whenever he wanted.

1. Check if the previous owner has proper service records of the bike.
2. Check if there's any claims on the insurance policy of the bike.
3. Get detailed information about the mods that have been done to the bike. (Avoid bikes that have too much of performance mods on them)
4. Make sure there's no tappet noise, or any other unusual sound coming from the engine.
5. Take a long test ride (emphasis on 'long' here, at least 10-15 kilometres of riding).

Hello guys
I am looking for used duke 200.
Currently i have r15 v1 2010 model. Now i want to upgrade.
I have some doubt of duke's fuel economy.
I want 35 kmpl. Is it possible to draw such mileage from duke.

What is total life(kms) of duke's engine generally

I've been getting approximately 34-38 kmpl while riding in the city. I ride sanely, just that I rip it in short bursts at times! P. S.,These figures are not console readings!

Doable if you're easy on the throttle.

Hi guys,
The mechanic at the service centre said that a chain n sprocket set would last for 10k - 14k kms. Is it true? I have done 22k kms on my bike with the stock chain and there is some sound coming from the chain, do I need to change it?

Check your chain - if it's too loose, then tighten it. Check the sprocket, if the teeth are too pointy, change the chain sprocket set. You can't rely on the SVC mech alone, because they typically go for early replacement. Are you lubing/cleaning the chain at regular intervals? If not, your chain won't last long.

Changed at 22k? People have reported they did 40K kms still chain is running. The SVC mechanic said I should change the chain set at 18K, now it's 22k and I don't feel any issues with in. Will post detailed pic of chain and sprocket soon on CBR thread.

Yes, it can be retroffited as both the frames are the same, but it would require almost half of the bike to be swapped, right from wiring, to ECU to brake plumbing, even the rear caliper mount as the slot for sensor will be missing in the 200s. In short, an expensive affair.

Cheers!

Yes, I've seen them float this nonsense around hyderabad. I was having casual chit chat with a couple of svc mechs and they were saying 'saar we ask customer to change the chain sproket at 15k' ... seems they don't even bother to check if it's ok or not. Now considering most of the owners do not maintain their chain well, this interval might be true for those cases.
For the rest of the minority, who take good care of the chain (essentially clean lubing it every 750km atleast) it should normally last close to around 25k km. The wear happens on the front sprocket, but unfortunately ktm doesn't sell just the front sprocket and you end up replacing the entire kit.

FYI.. i am on the stock chain/sprocket kit at 30k km on the odo... ajayvishwanath is at 36k km on stock chain/sprocket.. Just that our front sprocket is worn (pointy teeth). I will be changing it shortly, the past few months I have just been puttering around town so did not find a pressing need to replace the kit. It causes a bit of noise at slow speeds due to the worn sprocket. If they sold just the front sprocket for less than 500rs, i'd be happy to swap only that and use it for another 15k km
