in indonesia there's so many cbr150 carb version..Originally posted by catchdebanjan View Post@martin u r correct people here think the old version is still on sale which is not the case as u wuld know the CBR 150 has been replaced globally by Honda with the new one
rumors says it has 18hp, 20hp, even 26HP!!
the truth it's only got 17hp, so this Fi version actually an increase in power, but decrease in weight..
the different in performance is, the Fi version accelerate better (due Fi) than the old cbr (which lighter)..but the top end is reverse, the carb cbr DO faster (and you'll feel like someone pulls your body behind!), but the Fi doesn't..
but don't forget that the gearing are slighty different
imagine, the heavier Fi use 43T rear sprocket (which will makes the bike accelerate slower) and the lighter carb cbr use 44T rear sprocket..
that's why i say you better change the rear sprocket to 44T (actually there's some people in thailand change it to 45T!)

oh so the bike which i had seen on you tube was the older version. And what are the changes that honda made to the newer version that resulted in increase in weightOriginally posted by martin_sky77 View Post124kg is the old cbr wet weight..with dry weight about 115kg
the new cbr have wet weight about 138kg, same for all region..
the 19.5hp and 17nm statement actually is only a marketting strategy...
know what? it's only got 15.22hp on the rear wheel, there're some people do dyno both cbr150 indonesia & thailand version..
and going by the facts on this thread i "think"it can do 130+ with some effort which according to me is quite satisfactory and it should be able to cruise at 120 all day without any problem.RIDE SAFE WITH COMPLETE RIDING GEAR.

Not impressed with plastics quality
I do not like the quality of the parts used in the bike, especially the plastics. Already the cbr250r plastics is sub-standard(IMO), the 150r sibling feels even cheaper! However the advantage with this would be the proportionately low cost spare parts. Otherwise the overall review is GOOD even here in Aizawl, Mizoram(my home town). Handling is pretty good, comfortable pillion seat is an added advantage.
Its a tough one but If i were to buy a 150cc ride, I would probably go for the R15 owing to its better build quality!!!

i don't know which one you see..here i'll help you to find outOriginally posted by Super_SBK View Postoh so the bike which i had seen on you tube was the older version. And what are the changes that honda made to the newer version that resulted in increase in weight

pics i attached, the left and middle are carb cbr's speedo (middle is the last carb version) the right one is the Fi version
i've seen the Fi cbr runs 165 on youtube, i also seen it struggling to hit 152 (also on youtube)..it's all just a matter of road & wind condition, also the rider's weight..(don't forget those number are speedo indicated)
the increased weight in fi version are because there are more parts than the carb version..
example, sensors, injectors, (assume the throttle body weight = carburetor weight), bigger rectifiers, bigger fairings...
but the most visible parts which increase the weight area the longer swingarm, bigger fuel tank (the old cbr use 10lt tank), wider wheels and tyres..
130+ indicated? i believe it can..
just do some little crouching..
come on man, my modified RTR which runs true 123km/h got passed easily with this bike

yaa, it's low quality, because the honda want those plastic parts are recycleable..
maybe you'll choose cbr150 if it comes to performance matter..hahaha

I own the cbr250r right now, that is why I said what I said about the quality. Regarding performance, it will only be a marginal difference even if cbr150r proves to be faster, quicker or whatever.Originally posted by martin_sky77 View Postreally? seems the plastics quality similiar to cbr250..

The quality of the material used is actually disappointing, substandard considering the price you pay!!! I felt the same regarding the cbr250r but can't help it as the competition for it is way beyond my budget.
I very much like the look, the feel, the handling of the bike and the fact that its gives a good FE.

yaa, it's quite disappointing actually since honda is a big company, how can the plastic material in such a low quailty, even the price are so high..Originally posted by rmchhetri View PostI own the cbr250r right now, that is why I said what I said about the quality. ...direct questions:
1. How many kms you have covered so far?
2. How's the overall handling? It includes tight traffic and high speed handling (this is valid if you finished running in your motorcycle).
3. Assuming that you have spent pretty good amount of time with your motorcycle, how's the overall comfort? Have you taken a pillion along, how do they feel?
4. If you have finished running in/done with first service, how are you finding the performance now? Please do let us know how does the torque feels in day to day riding.
5. I don't care if the switch gear is similar to Stunner, if the quality's good then I guess there shouldn't be anything to complain. How are you finding the quality of different parts after using the motorcycle?

sorry for not being there in ownership's thread for so many days.. actually right now i am not with my bike. i came to jodhpur for some office work for two weeks.. im missing the bike badly..as to day i went to nearest show room here in jodhpur and i asked them for test drive
ma bad luck they did'nt provide....
coming to your question..(s)
ans-1:totally i have covered 860 km onthis bike.
ans-2:both were good for a person weighing 50-80+/-5 being my weight 60 i fount its good.
ans-3: during running in period i never let any one to sit behind me after that... my friends who sat behind me sait good comfort..
ans-4: first servicing done at 750 km(i have it done at 739 preciceley) engine oil changed... its synthetic which is used for 250.. the operator checked every part meticulosly.. chain lube.. every thing taken care of.
ans-4: previously i have platina(my fathers) which doesnt have any kill switch.. i never bothered about this switch.... if any one says that for this cost they have to provide kill switch.. then wait till the next batch. where all these feed back is taken care of.. the honda dealer listened to my feed back care fully and he said he will forward he same..

I get 30-34Kmpl from my CBR250R. I am sorry if I gave you the impression that I own the 150cc sibling. I said good FE for the cbr150r based on feedback of the two owners here in the thread and cbr150r owners here in Aizawl where I currently came for my holidaysOriginally posted by hotshot.vipin View Postbtw what FE do you get,.,.,
