re: Bajaj Discover 125 Owners Reviews and Experiences
Hey guys, i had a good look at pulsar 135's console and i think, judging by it's screw positions, it can be a direct fit on this bike. Btw how r u guys checking mileage? Reserve to reserve or are u going by what mechanics say on the basis of carburetor based technique. Coz i calculate by reserve to reserve method and i am getting horrible mileage. Just 50kmpl. 6k kilometers run and all 3 services completed. I pour in motul oil. Never used bajaj oil after 1st service. I oil the chain and both drums every month. I mostly ride at 50-60 kph speed. Still average sucks. I am worried a lot. P 135 users say they get 55+ avg. This then is a mileage oriented bike and still doesn't give me anywhere near 55.Originally posted by abdriver2000 View PostLast edited by ShantanuD; 03-02-2014, 10:05 PM.

Mechanical consoles are more durable than the LCD ones. I would not change to LCD one just for the tacho.Originally posted by ShantanuD View PostHey guys, i had a good look at pulsar 135's console and i think, judging by it's screw positions, it can be a direct fit on this bike. Most of us use reserve to reserve or full tank to full tank methods to calculate mileage. What is your driving style? If you take 10 rides of 5kms each, your mileage is going to be lesser than when you would ride 50kms non stop. What do you mean by changing both drums? 125ST has drum brakes only at rear, and I am still running stock liners at 10k. They should easily last another 10k.
Did you run-in the bike exactly like it's mentioned in the manual? Exceeding limits in the first 2k, even once, can seriously affect your engine in the long run.Better late by 30 minutes than early by 30 years.

re: Bajaj Discover 125 Owners Reviews and Experiences
To check the mileage accurately, when your bike hits reserve set trip meter to 0. Fill minimun 4 litres of petrol from a well reputed fuel station like shell because there are many fuel stations who will give 100-150ml less petrol in 1 litre. Proper tyre pressure and well lubricated chain is also important.Originally posted by ShantanuD View PostHey guys, i had a good look at pulsar 135's console and i think, judging by it's screw positions, it can be a direct fit on this bike. Oops, that was supposed to be "oil the chain" and not "chain the oil". I hope that clears the confusion

Guys, I check average using reserve to reserve only. And yes, I always make sure that correct tyre pressure is maintained. I also oil the chain once a month. Also engine sends massive vibrations at 50-60 kph. And shows such strain and noise that it's doing 90 kph. At almost all gears there are vibrations. I am fed up and losing all my patience. My brothers 10 years old bajaj caliber is running more smoothly than my year old bike. What am I supposed to do?
I recently servied the bike, like in last december. Fresh oil was poured in. for 5-6 days there was butter smoothness. Then everything was back to normal (read messed). How frequently am I supposed to change the oil? I have handed over my bike at the able hands of a very good mechanic I know from years. Seems even he is not doing it right. Saddened.

What engine oil are you using? Frequency of oil change can me mentioned only when the type of oil or brand is known . So please update on what engine oil you are using and how many kilometres have you clocked in.Originally posted by ShantanuD View PostOops, that was supposed to be "oil the chain" and not "chain the oil". I mentioned it all in my previous posts. But here it is again.Originally posted by sauravdyakuza View PostWhat engine oil are you using? I have ridden 6000 km so far and have been using motul oil after 1st service. I do not remember full name of that oil but it's grade is that mentioned in owner's manual

re: Bajaj Discover 125 Owners Reviews and Experiences
Today I completed 10000kms in 348 days from purchase. This is much slower than my Caliber 115 which saw me going past 5 digit mark on day 279.
Still travel the same distances, but I don't use the bike for short commutes. Anything which is 15-20 minutes of walking does not qualify for bike use.
In the process, I have lost weight and am back to my college size from 2 decades ago.
Better late by 30 minutes than early by 30 years.

Guys I poured in shell advance oil this time and now vibrations have increased to intolerable limits. After 60kph engine seems so much harsh and hands go numb on the handlebar. Has the new oil messed it all up?

Bro, I got the same shell ax7 oil, and even I'm getting the same exact problem which you mentioned. I think this oil is not suitable for this bike's engine. The SVC oil was much better than this. I'm gonna get it serviced in the SVC next time.Originally posted by ShantanuD View PostGuys I poured in shell advance oil this time and now vibrations have increased to intolerable limits. Can't stand with this annoying vibrations. Missing the fun to ride. Already showed the bike to the svc guys. They say all's good with the bike. I suspect it's all due to shell ax7 oil. It's been only two months since I poured it. Gonna change to castrol power a1 20w50 soon and see how it goes. Will keep you posted.

re: Bajaj Discover 125 Owners Reviews and Experiences
I have recently purchased bajaj discover 125T, so far 1100 on ODO, first service done, so far good, as i am running in the bike, other than once gone to 80Km/H, rest is the sedate running in the range on 45-55 Km/H, the average is about 60-63 Km/L.
Now i facing a peculiar problem, when ever i switch-off the engine, there is a cling like loud sound, this happens no matter it i use a kick start or the starter motor to start the engine. the sound has increased in last week, rest there is no problem with the bike except for gears which are typical bajaj...
any suggestion what should i look for or should do for this sound while switching off the engine.

That is normal thing and happens in all engines, let it be cars or bikes. Don't worry it isn't a bajaj thingy.Originally posted by abhasbajpai View PostI have recently purchased bajaj discover 125T, so far 1100 on ODO, first service done, so far good, as i am running in the bike, other than once gone to 80Km/H, rest is the sedate running in the range on 45-55 Km/H, the average is about 60-63 Km/L.

As the exhaust cools some metal areas cool faster
than others creating a little be of strain.
You also notice even a louder clicking noise after
an aircraft turbine engine is turn off.
Banned twice in 6 months..
Now waiting for the third one..!!Last edited by Anuj_Gupta; 04-06-2014, 02:07 AM.
