Nothing major mate- but bike needs attention. It's not fill and drive bike. You have to keep eyes and ear open at all times. And don't take any small stuff also for granted, report it back to ASC.

    Anyways, happy thumping.

      Thanks man!
Will surely keep those in mind. Also one always has this community to help out with any issues that may arise.
Will post pics as soon as I take the delivery of the bike

P.S- I was wondering if waiting for a couple of days and getting a 2014 passing is advisable?

That's upto you. If I was you I will wait and take delivery on 01/01/14 (if there is no major revision in prices). Anyways actual manufacturing will be for nov or dec. if you actually want 2014 manufactured bike, you have to wait and take delivery in Feb or March.

I also read a post of Mr Ravi on TBHP about increase in prices in 2014. Not sure if price increase is effective 1st week of Jan.

Hello all, is there any showroom in Hyderabad that you would recommend for purchasing TB500. I would be taking delivery in April end.

Why would you ask for a recommended showroom? Pick a bike from a close by showroom.

You have to picky in ASC, but not on any showroom.

2 reasons - I have seen how careless showroom people are with pdi. And I want to deal with someone sincere even if it is far from my place. I have sent emails to couple of showrooms. One did not respond and other did just once.

Let me add to this. A couple of days ago I took my bike to the Authorised Service Centre in chennai with an issue of rusting in the tank fuel lid region. Practically that is not in my hands, there is some paint which is wearing off which sometime ago a fellow rider here in xbhp has posted in the same very thread. I showed the issue to the service manager who I requested to meet me. I also had another rusting issue with the headlight doom, which I really don't get it. The head light doom is chrome plated but yet develops a bit of rust on the down side where there is a small hole. I asked the service manager reg this issue, and the answer he gave me took met to a shock. He responded saying "Royal Enfield bikes do rust and can't be prevented, painted parts are not rustproof and chrome plating is done to make it look like steel and not to deal with the rusting". Would anyof you guys accept this statement? He argued with me only to not take the issue for a warranty claim. Well with that I kind of lost hope on the ASC servicing. Should this be taken up? Other than the tank there are a lot of places which have very sharp edges and the paint certainly wont cling on to it. This causes the rusting to start despite maintaining to the fullest.

Kindly advice. I am from Chennai. I spoke to the Regional Service manager, and he told me to get the bike this week on saturday to the ASC held by Eicher motors which is the OMR service station and that he would see to the case. My bike is under warranty and is due to move out of the warranty enclosure soon this January end.

Send a mail to support, you can get the mail address from the service manual. I guess you ll receive a call from regional head or some higher authority.. Don't budge and speak firm to them saying that you wanted to get replaced.. Trust me, you'll eventually get a replaced tank

I did the same for my tank n bend pipe and get it replaced for my classic chrome

All the best and Happy thumping

Shoot a mail to customer service of RE. you would get a callback within 24 hrs. and eventually all parts would be replaced.

                        Happy new year to all.

Finally got the Slime tube sealant delivered at office from the distributor yesterday.

Watched the YouTube video and got slime into tubes by myself this morning.

If one don't have the air inflator then also slime can be injected easily at any puncture shop nearby and payment to the puncture shop will be for air only.

After injecting slime took my bike for a 20km ride and found no difference in riding.

Company claims 4 yrs of shelf life and 2 years of working life.

One can also claim cash refund if product does not work (as per information written on the bottle)

Cost of one slime bottle 8oz- 583 Rs. Motor bikes needs 1 bottle per tire because of tube size.

I got both the tires injected with slime and hoping for a puncture free 2 yrs .

                            Happy New Year xBhpians!

Had my first tryst with the "famed" RE customer service yesterday when finalising my bike and making the payment for the same.
During checking out the bikes, the sales guy was like "Sir aap tension mat lo, PDI mein him sab theek karke denge."
Then on noticing an out of alignment rear seat and enquiring about it, his reply was "Sir ye toh company se aise hai, itna toh har bike mein hota hi hai. Itna thodi dekhte hai."
Luckily there was one more bike in the lot. But on checking that out, it had a little part of the chrome on the handle bar missing. On pointing that out, this guy who was already getting on my nerves, his reply "Sir har bike mein kuch na kuch hota hai hi hai and log leke jate hai, Enfield aise hi hote hai" :banghead:
This for a bike costing close to 2 lacs. I gave him a piece of my mind but arguing with this guy was a lost cause.
Talked to the store owner and he assured me that the handle bar would be changed before delivery. Made the final payment after that. Should get the delivery in a week.

                              I warned you .
If they still get on your nerves, don't hesitate to get a a hold of your RE area manager. Shoot a mail to their customer Care, everything which is faulty/damaged during PDI would be replaced.
He was right when he said "Saari enfield aisi hi aati hain", Sad but true RE has the worst QC in INDIA. Even TATA fares better in QC.

Don't think too much about these niggles, Just enjoy your ride

                              Cheers

Well I was expecting this, but not before even the sale was done. And this is supposed to be one of the better dealerships in Pune. The owner though has assured me that he'll change the handle bar before delivery and fix any other issues too.
Anyways I hope I'll have some retribution once I get the bike in my hands
