No no no... that's not what I meant. You're absolutely right. UG3 is actually .428 pitch only.Originally posted by RSM2852 View PostMy bad, I thought ug3 has .428 pitch
.
What I'm saying is, UG3 sprockets are large (43-44 teeth), so they're of no use to the query poster who already has 41 teeth.... and he wants 36-38 teeth.---

I don't think there are bikes with .428 pitch with a 36-38T sprockets.
What about Unicorn and Ignitor?

Re: World of Sprockets!
Hai... Friends..my bikes stock o" ring chain was making lot of noise and was wearing fast so,changed my pulsar 180 ug4s chain sprocket sets to karizmas chain sprocket set.Now bike is running fine. But, it became tooo much short geared. Top end and mileage considerably dropped. Pulsar 180 ug4s stock set up is 14/39.karizmas set up is 13/40. Used this set up for almost 15k kms now.from my experience, i would say ,you will get a good improvement in initial if switched to karizmas sprocket set. Its pulling like anything. Even wheel spin happens in low gears even if u were not intended to do so. At same time u will sacrifice a lot in top end. Vibration, mileage drop are other side effects.but, really like the quality of karizma chain no issues till now even without lubing it with any chain sprays. Was using only used engine oil for lubing. I know its not good, but, it was doing just fine with this chain,so why i need to spend 500 rs to buy motul spray to lube as i earlier did with my stock o ring but, still got problems even after some 7k kms.
Now
Am thinking to over gear my bikes top end dropped by a good margin.
Already tried using pulsars 14t front sprocket. But, it wasnt suiting with karizmas chain.
Now am thinking to try a new chain sprocket set.
I don want to go for o ring again, so i need a normal chain set for better top end atleast like my stock set up that is 14/39. What are the options then?..
Thanks for reading..

Last year, I lost my thumb while I was cleaning my Avenger's chain.,Originally posted by Samarth 619 View PostOpen Chain Covers on regular bikes
CAUTION: Don't clean/ oil the chain while the wheel is rotating too fast, or its rotating on engine power, while on main stand.
One may lose a finger by accident if he's not careful.
Good luck.
The bike was in main stand, and engine was running in first gear, I used a cloth and holding it in left hand, was cleaning the chain, In a fraction of second, the cloth rolled up in the chain sproket and my half thumb was gone with the cloth near the front sproket .
So guys please be careful and Don't do the stupid thing which I did!

Avenger 220 sproketing
Merged/ApprovedHello guys, I am riding bajaj Avenger 220, 60k kms done.
I usually go on rides and while driving in 5th gear, the engine feels on pressure (high Rpm) and lack of 6th gear is felt.
One of my friend suggested me sproketing. But as I am new to this concept, I needed some help.
Is there any sproket available which will directly fit on my bike rather doing alteration on current sproket?
1- I want to increase the top end.
2- can compromise the low end decrease, as need good cruising.
Thank in advance.

As much as it pains us seeing a fellow biker getting hurt, at the same time, I also feel proud of you coming forward and sharing this incident for awareness of fellow bikers.
Of course, I just typed a warning in text. For everyone else its just a pointer, but for you its a tragedy. I appreciate your courage & intention coming forward with this.
The chain is a very strong piece of equipment, which won't break until a strong force breaks it.
In addition to that, the torque from most engines even at idle rpm is too high. It can pull a bike+rider without accelerator pulled (in 1st gear) at around 1.4 krpm. That's around 200 kgs of weight it pulls at around 5 kmph.
The finger stands very less chance against such force, and one can only hope that in such a human error situation, the engine stalls due to obstruction to chain movement. Mostly, that doesn't happen, and that's the sad part.
Wish you all the best buddy, and may you be least affected by this accident in your life.
As far as I'm informed, The Avenger from 2006 onwards normally comes with a .520 setup on 14/39 sprockets. For overgearing, as you want to have, there're 2 ways:Originally posted by Jitu Gadkari View PostHello guys, I am riding bajaj Avenger 220, 60k kms done.

1. lesser teeth on rear sprocket, OR
2. more teeth on front sprocket,
There is no 15 teeth sprocket by Rolon on .520 pitch. So "more teeth on front sprocket" is totally ruled out.
Your next options are that you can try are:-
38 teeth from Pulsar 200 DTSi (classic), OR
37 teeth from Pulsar 220 DTS Fi, OR
36 teeth from Pulsar 220 DTSi (new model, after mid 2009's, without fuel injection).
Be reminded that I can't confirm that they will definitely fit. Try before you buy is what I suggest.
If it works, then you can post it here so other members can be benefited from your experiment. All the best.

As a major part of body is lost, it does affects a lot in daily life. It seems a only a small part of thumb, but it's very useful. THE VALUE IS KNOW MOSTLY AFTER ITS LOST. Anyways it was my fault.
But other riders PLEASE TAKE CARE while cleaning chain.
Coming to sproketing, I am planning for the pulsar 220 38teeth sproket.
Will inform the results soon.
