Holder plate and nuts should be available at Bajaj spares. But I had to run around a few shops to find it.
I searched everywhere..could not find 15t sprocket..even bajaj asc sells it as chain+sprocket set which costs 1.3k!
I got a used one from a workshop..I am not going to use this, can you see whether it is identical to yours and fits RTR?

After I get the front sprocket I have to get used holder plate and nuts too!

Hello friends me owning Yamaha r15 version, earlier changed sprocket & chain @ 21k KM now @ 43k KM chain & sprocket about to change, but this time looking for after market with 14/40 or 13/40 setting high quality sprocket & chain which can go about 30K KM.
I look for Daytona currently not available in Mumbai as well Pune yamaha stores, if it would cost some where about 8,000 inr against 27,00 inr with stock.

Anyways me looking for a really good quality 14/40 & chain locally buy or online buy.

Also anyone with already such settings any improvement in top speed? i have done 148km/hr with stocks & lesser 145km/hr with Endurance exhaust + K&N filter shocking was top speed was reduced. So basically to increase top speed eating out acceleration i would prefer.

Try some other Bajaj spare shop, it comes as individual sprocket also. Maybe you can try to get hold of some Bajaj owners here in xbhp who are in your area to help you with the right shop.
And yes, the one you have will fit the RTR, atleast it looks similar to what I have.

I'd never recommend using Daytona stuffs on normal road racing. But why? Unless you'r seriously into racing as such you need not consider overgearing/undergearing. The best is to stick to stock, as you're not going to gain much with overgearing as anyone knows R15 is pathetic at low speeds. So perhaps undergearing it would be wiser idea. But I'd suggest you stick with stock.

albyjose. Here is the take.

Apache RTR 160 and to overgear it, you can use the 14 teeth front sprocket from Yamaha YZF R15/ Fiero F2.

To overgear RTR 180, use the 15 teeth front sprocket from Bajaj Pulsar 150/ 180 UG3 only! But, buy a sprocket holder ring and the nuts to suit, as the RTR ones do not match the Pulsars' sprocket. To undergear RTR 180, use the 13 teeth front sprocket from RTR 160, its a direct fit.

Now, you can see the MAJIC that's created by Apache at short bursts is nothing but the additional of so many number of tooth at the rear sprocket. But the thing that Apache had was well know for was its low end acceleration.

Cheers!

From ug3 only?Is there any difference between those and newer ones?I am having trouble finding them as ASC are selling them as complete set only.
Yeah..low end acceleration of rtr is because of the number of teeth in rear sprocket..but then an abuse taking engine ready to stay closer to red line and be cool with it makes it different.

Nothing significant as such but sprocket holder ring doesn't match the RTRs and for which you need to buy them seperately as quoted above. Apart from that there is nothing to worry.

Finally got the sprocket. It is not genuine one.
Rs 54/-the price is low because the sprocket's batch is 2009.
As single sprockets do not go bad alone..its hard to find and buy them alone.
Will try the set up when getting hold of the plates and pin..hope I get them from a used sprocket set.

Great. Please post a photo session of the DIY that you're doing along with the sprocket change and the sprocket so that it can help many people here visually.

Sorry..this was not a diy,so no pics!
Fitted 15t set up on apache.
I could not find the plates and pin of pulsar for ...so mech did it with ct 100 plate. The plate is not a direct fit.
We had to break it in half and use it with one pin.
I was concerned that whether it is safe but he showed me set ups in older bikes was way weaker and he is sure that this will stay without any issues.
So,
For apache 180 if you are using 100/80/17 tyre you would find it more short geared.Vibes would be greater, the free revving nature will vanish and 1st gear almost becomes useless.
In that case you can use 15t from pulsar with stock plates or ct 100 plates cut in half.
Bike does 66.x at 5000 rpm in top gear.It is slightly taller than stock.
Did not feel any loss in pick up..vibes reduced and hopefully an increase in mileage.
Now I can peacefully cruise which was not possible earlier and the low end torque is better felt in this set up.

My stock chain-sprocket kit has come of age and I'm looking to undergear my NS now. I know the rear sprocket is 39T, not sure of the pitch. I'm not sure of the front sprocket either. I want better low-end characteristics for I will now me spending more time in the city than the highway.

I enquired in a ktm showroom if the duke's kit can be a direct fit. The mechanic said no, the duke's rear sprocket comes with 4 mounting points unlike NS's 6. I said the duke 390 has the same sprocket ratio, yet has 6 mounting points so how about that? Looked like he was too lazy to try anything so he simply said 'not possible sir, the chain doesn't come with a separate link to remove the chain.'

What options do I have guys?

Most probably the chain pitch should be .520. For good low end, you need not change the front sprocket as such, but you can consider going for a bigger tooth sprocket at the rear or a smaller front sprocket. Perhaps you can try the one which has six mounting pivots.

My mech advised me to try p150s chain, sprocket kit for my bike as this o ring chain is going just after 10k. And i have seen many 220, 200 there fitted with p150 chain for same reason. My question is what will happen if i change my set to that of p150s?

First off, the P180 UG4s sprocket setup is 14/39 and has a pitch of .520 and the 150 UG3 is 15/44. If you can help me why you're changing the sprocket setup, that'd be real great. Do you want to undergear or overgear? So that it will be helpful to provide the the correct pointers. You will get improved low end power (torque) the bike will accelerate hard at lower speed which is good enough in traffic and will gain you very slight top-end speed as the bike will accelerate harder.

Many bikes have 13T front sprocket but not rear sprocket like Apache, Hero Honda Karizma etc. But maybe others can help, but I have it's tough to keep track of every single sprocket out there. The 200 NS has a 14/39, which means improved low end from the stock setup. But yes, you can use both R15V1 or the R15 V2.0's 15:47 for improved low end and slight improved top end.

Cheers!
