    If you are talking about the "Z" after the "Rev" in then you are way off base, that is just part of the tyre branding. The Fazer/FZ-16 tyre is wholly inadequate for the speeds a Ninja 300 capable of. As far as I'm aware, the real rating of the tyre is "63P", that would be the load index followed by the speed rating.

    The tyre's specifications (140/60 R17 63P) are actually:-
    140 = The width of the tyre in millimeters
    60 = The height of the tyre in relation to the width (60% of 140 = 84mm.) Still 14mm shorter than a stock tyre, 98mm versus 84mm.
    R = The tyre is of radial construction
    17 = The rim diameter
    63 = 272 kilograms of load
    P = 150 kmph ( way below what the Ninja can do)

    My earnest suggestion would be to immediately change the tyre if you plan on going anywhere near the Ninja's top speed. The tyre will be working beyond what it was designed for, and you do not want to be doing that lest it may lead to a blowout at speed and, god forbid, a crash.

      This is precisely why I was asking for the tyre spec. The moment I saw the tyre pic I was sure it was FZ spec tyre. Not only the top speed, but will that tyre hold up the 3 times more power and the extra torque? There will be a lot of screaching and screaming from the tyres. Another 140 section tyre that is available is for CBR250R. I am quite sure that even the CBR ones will be off mark to Ninja spec. My knowledge is reserved to Indian bikes and the AAM AADMI tyres, kinda noob in this sector when it comes to higher spec tyres. But I had my doubts which were correct.

        Bang on. The Z no way denotes speed rating. Please correct me in case it does and please point to the source of the info. I have been riding my Ninja for 1700 Kms now and I personally feel MRFs would be compromising with the safety and dynamics of the bike.

              Well said! Interestingly the front tyre I installed says 54S. So I should be okay relatively speaking at 150-160 kmph speeds. Frankly apart from a short stretch where I was able to ride at 165 kmph I have more often run out of road at other times.

                    Guys I booked a ninja 300 yesterday. And the store manager told me If I put an aftermarket slip on or a full exhaust system then the warranty will get void. Is it true? I'm confused.

                      Aftermarket slip on's doesnt void your warranty, tho I can't say about full exhaust system.

                        Hey guys,I have a few questions.

                        1. Is the engine in ninja 300 rubber mounted?
                        2. If yes, how does it work?
                        3. What is the use of rubber mounting??

                          Hey guys, got a small query for you all.

                          I booked Ninja on 26th June but due to some reasons at home, I wanted delivery only on 31st July. For this, the plan was to make the full payment on 29th July and pick up the bike in the next 2 days. Since I have booked the bike well in advance my understanding was that availability should not be an issue. However there is a twist in the tail!!!

                          As per Probiking east Mumbai, my delivery amount is basically an order punching amount to Bajaj factory in pune. This amount makes sure that a bike is assembled and allocated to me but kept in factory only. The dealer wont get the shipment to Mumbai unless he receives the full payment by me, which basically nullifies the chances me canceling the order. This is his smart move to protect himself in case I cancel the delivery and he is left with a stock in hand to sell in Mumbai. But there is a caveat.

                          Owners do you remember that you signed a form post booking which mentioned the terms and conditions for cancellation of an order. It specifically said that if a person cancels the order the money is refunded back to him subtracting 5000 and the bike is allocated to the next person in line. Also, the practice mentioned above, while true for exotics, doesnt seem convincing to me. The dealer wants me to pay fully by 10th (and hence chances of cancellation are gone!), so that he can get the bike to Bhiwandi by 15th, and RTO etc by the date of deliver, ie 31st July. I do not want him to keep my bike open at his showroom as a display bike. Help me!!!

                              No, this is the kanjurmarg one, though I think both showrooms belong to the same agency

                                Yes, it is not a good idea to keep your bike with the showroom. Tell him you will pay the full amount when you are ready to take it home. In the mean time he can alot your bike to somebody else.

                                You need to be assertive and strong. If he insists tell him you may prefer to speak to guys higher up in Bajaj, and that should set him straight.
