Honda CB Trigger | 4 Months Old | Wobbling Issues

Hello Friends,

I have gone through some of the earlier posts to understand the possible causes of wobbling. My issue is a bit unique.

# The bike was purchased at M/s Kun Honda, Adyar Chennai in the month of July 2013
# Has done 3600+Km on the odometer
# Soon after the purchase wobbling of the wheels started
# Reported the issue in the first service, unresolved, second service unresolved
# I took it up with the SVC and they offered to check with MRF, the tyre provided and got the front tyre replaced in-warranty, the issue however is, still unresolved
# Have given it the SVC yesterday, now they are saying they found a nail in the rear wheel, i am baffled. To me it looks like some gimmick to put the onus on me.

They have checked the fork, swing arm and beading, no issues found as per them. But they don't seem to diagnose the issue even after 5-6 failed attempts and a tyre replacement.

Really frustrated as I had bought this as gift to my big brother. Not sure what HMSI can do. Purchased extended warranty along with bike if it helps. My queries are;

# Can i trust the SVC guys on the nail story, if yes how do i counter it, as it went undetected in all 5 attempts at servicing in the past
# Is it a good idea to keep going back to the same SVC knowing that they have been unsuccessful, i bought this bike from them
# If the issue could not be resolved by the SVC can this be deemed as a manufacturing defect and can a replacement be claimed.

Please share your valuable thoughts and experiences.

[P.S. Been a regular visitor to the Forum until this issue turned me a member, Big fan!!!]

Re: Honda CB Trigger | 4 Months Old | Wobbling Issues

Friends,

Visited the SVC in the morning, inspected the rear tyre. No nails found!!!

The wobbling is imminent until touching the speeds of 60 and above and it appears in between gear shift too. SVC claims they have checked the fork, swing arm bushes and wheel alignment. All seems ok.

Hello All,

I got the rear tyre also replaced. The issue is resolved. Guess you all knew it will be resolved eventually, explains why there wasn't a reply. Anyways, i am happy that the issue is resolved.

mhussain, glad to know your problem is solved. I have seen this just now, otherwise I would have suggested you to check the rear tire too. Anyway, the problem is solved now, and enjoy riding it.

Never rely on one SVC...5-6 failed attempts, out these atleast 2 attempts could have been in different svc which might have given you correct idea or solution.

Okay dude! when you apply rear break the front break also get applied but its in a certain proportion. It helps you to slow down your bike only. The intensity of front break in CBS is adjusted to just slow the bike down.. so u dont loose balance..

I had the same query but after riding trigger i got it..

Surely this 12.5 Nm at 6500 RPM and 13.81 BHP at 8500 RPM bike is the best 150 cc bike available in our country. And it is “very fastest” as a friend here claims.

Yeah I m quite sure.. as i have read about trigger's CBS tech. And i also have ridden trigger enough(cbs model) to conclude this.. if u want to stop trigger cbs immidiately u can apply front break directly (but on ur own risk lol).

I hope my information is correct. If isnt, i would like to learn some about it..

Applying the front brake is the only way of stopping a motorcycle. There are larger discs up front for a reason. Rear brakes only complement the front ones.
CBS on all Honda products (scooters/bikes) helps in distributing the rear brake force and to a certain extent helps avoid rear wheel locking by distributing some %age of braking with the front. But as you presumed that using the front brake only is a risk, you're extremely wrong my friend.

Braking should be done in a 80:20 or 70:30 fashion (front:rear ratio). Read this for more info - http://www.xbhp.com/talkies/art-safe...0-braking.html

That kind of “popular” biking sites, teenage bikers there and paid reviews are misleading people like you; it seems. But you are not the only prey. See here how even some very experienced bikers are being trapped by a blood thirsty impaling Vlad.

Anyhow, now too you have a chance to test ride and compare the specifications of other 150 cc bikes and go through the ownership threads of those bikes here.
I am not against any bike but against selling rotten egg in new shell.

Nope! But, its not good practice. You may lock the front in that case. Rear should be used, but just to stabilize the bike while braking.

Consider the following senario:

You are approaching a speed breaker 100 m ahead and you're doing 70 kmph.

1. You get on the front brakes and start shedding speed.
2. You come down to 40's and downshift (engine braking plays a vital role)
3. You reach 30's and downshift again.
4. You reach 20's and tap the rear brake as well as downshift.
5. You approach the speed breaker at about 15 kmph in 2nd gear.

P.S - The front brake is used in all steps. Just ensure you don't jab it so much that it locks the wheel.
Got a $5 head? Get a $5 helmet.
