  • Thanks Sunny...will it go on a BS29 carb? Haven't found the need for one yet...but could be useful in future.

Does that mean ,the ghost apache is running on a 29mm carb? I had assumed that it was on UCD32.

      • Guys..i have a 2001 suzuki fiero which has run close to 90k kms.
I kept this in top notch condition till 2007 and i loved every moment of it.

Bought pulsar 200 in Bangalore and gave fiero to my friend and he kept it for nearly 2 years.
After getting the bike back from him,i was almost in tears as the bike was in the worst condition possible.Gave it to castrol power zone and got the bike repaired to reasonable condition.I would have used the bike for only 3-4k kms in the last 2 years but spent almost 15k changing everything they asked me to change but i am somewhat not satisfied with the bike. i guess i got cheated. After that i stopped giving the bike to them.(15k includes tyres, suspension, etc)
Recently bike has started drinking lot of oil and Local mechanic suggests me to rebore the engine and it will cost 3k.

My everyday commute is around 45kms,so i need a very comfortable bike.Pulsar 200 makes my wrist pain.
So should i repair the fiero and keep it? if yes any good mechanics in chennai and also how to make it more comfortable for bad roads?
        Please do help.
        Sorry for the long post

Castrol bike zones are rip-off zones with rare exceptions. Judging by the price quoted for the re-bore,looks like your mech is no different either.A re-bore costs 700 Rs at lathe which includes the piston and rings. My advise is,first find a honest mech and find out what seems to be the problem ,then ask him for the individual price of the things to be done and let us know.

Refere to RTR 180 Service Information Manual Page 9.It is as per stock spec.So should be available from A.S.S. Otherwise Bajaj KB100 , KB125 and Tvs bikes used to use them. If you have stock Carburetor setup in your RTR 180 then it is already there.

Yes i see that now that you mention it, but it is a mistake, because RTR180 does not come with a 20 pilot. The part number is N9322920 which is a 15 pilot jet. The main jet size also is printed wrong. RTR180 comes with a 115main jet not 125, I just verified again just now with TVS service. I knew this before and i was wondering why you were suggesting such big jets. A stock RTR180 wont even start with a 125main and 20 pilot. Heck even my setup doesnt need a 20 pilot. I guess we cant really rely on these manuals.

@Gixxer_junkie - Yes i'm still running a bs29 as of now which is conservative for my setup...plenty of room for improvement You cannot fit the UCD32 on a RTR without cutting/ modifying the chassis. Its too big

Killer thanks for the clarifications...so the RTR 180 service manuals do have Hiccups...I think the same BS29 in Pulsar 180 has 117.5 main jet and 17.5 pilot.
Thanks for sharing and updating info

Thanks killer,i think you just saved me some money, because i had no idea about the chassis coming in the way the mech and ZEN TVS were of the opinion that UCD32 can be installed.I had asked about the manifold part ,the RTR180 manifold that is ,which psr had brought to my attention as having a bigger dia inner pipe(naturally as it takes a 29mm carb and 28.5mm valve) and i was told that the bigger venturi will fit into the manifold. But ,i guess they didn't have any idea about the chassis coming in the way.

                            • Guys can someone recommend me hind tyres for my Fiero? ... well it is quite new, but the front one is the stock one and has lost it's grip (it skids when taking corners and I often feel like I might loose it) ... so I intend to get a new one for the back wheel and put that one up in the front. Also the hind tyre is quite thin so I intend to get a little fatter one. MRF or Dunlop? or any other?

Don't put the rear tyre on the front wheel,it will mess up the speedo reading.
