  • Rear Shock Absobers for Fiero F2

Want to replace the rear shock abs for my Fiero F2.

Want to go for Gas ones.

Need to know which bike / model gas shock abs would fit in without need for any mods or impact on tyre etc.

I did go thru this thread but didn't find a recco. Maybe missed it.

Pls give some suggestions folks !!

The ones from the RTR will serve your purpoes, but you have to fit them upside down as the panel design wont be accomodating the gas canister.

      • Guys, I have just completed a thorough (well sort of) servicing on my 2001 Fiero. Parts changed are a brand new Carburetor, the circular oil seal (leaked oil) shown in the pictures above, Clutch plates, Engine oil (Castrol Active). Changed the front fork shock oil. The bike feels so much lighter and feels almost new. It’s a pleasure to ride once more.
I asked the mechanic if it was necessary to change the Ring Piston and valves. He advised that I should wait a bit more…. Should have done that too… but the bike feels so much better now … and the mileage has gone up too.

One question for you guys… has anyone changed their Suzuki Fiero front light bulb to a brighter whiter one? Please advise … which bulb will be the best and brightest.

        Thanks in advance.

On my Fiero, I'm running Victor gas shocks, they provide a nice comfortable (a bit on softer side) ride. Also using a pulsar 150's gas shocks that provides a bit stiffer ride (it also increases the ride height). Though the Victor shocks are straight fit, the pulsar one needs the replacement of one of the metal bush that is used to mount the shocks.

          • Got the Bike - Cheers

Yes I got the bike yesterday at 10.30 p.m.

It costed nearly 3K to do with my babe

            Here is the list

            Engine Oil 200
            Timing Chain - Head 730
            Clutch Plate 180
            Oil packing Kit 80
            Break Shoe 150
            Water Service 50
            Oil Filter 22
            Head Repair (Outside) 80
Amaron Batter 4 years warranty 750
            Service Charge 600

Now the pickup problem has gone and I can't find any leakages, but the service fellow couldn't fix basic things like break light and all.

He told that the tail light was pasted and he needs another day to do that work.

Bike is in full mood now.

0-60 reached in no time and at 80 km/hr the vibes come all over my body.

Didn't try more than that becasue my back tire is nearing for replacement.

Anyways satisfied with the service because my bike was acting like moped before it was serviced.

Guys I made an Excel sheet on bike maintenance so that you can keep the record of how much you spent on your bike and mileage

see if that helps you and pls do comment for any changes.

            Thanks

Michelin M45 gives a good grip. My Fiero handling improved after changing the front to M45.

Rear is Dunlop Monster. Not bad.

My stock rear tyre wore out at 2 years./20K kms. Switched over to the Dunlop GeoCruiser 100/90/18". Been using it since 3 years/30K kms.&it still hasn't shown any signs of degrade!

                  • My engine is getting heated up very quickly!

                    Dear guys I am worried,

It's been just three days after service and engine gets heated up very much after a short run of 15 kms.

                    Is it normal?

As I have told you in my previous reply about timing chain and all.

Pls tell me should I do something or is it normal?

                    Pls help

Yeah just fitted Dunlop GeoCruiser 100-90-18 on the rear

Haven't yet felt the difference because the old tyre was also the same.

                      Cost Rs. 1450 including tube

Thats good-the tyre is a great one no doubt-its back on the CBZ Xtreme also now.
So, how long did it last you?
The price has gone up by 50% in 4 years-I paid Rs.975 including tube 2006.

Less bumpy , better much better grip.

Cost here in Mumbai with tube was 1800/-
