You need not change the carburetor as a whole. Clean and inspect the same for any fault. Mostly, the float (copper) will get damaged on long use. If required change the float and needle valve as a set. Costs around Rs.400/-.
BTW, 35-40 km/litre is less, have your bike completely serviced by an experienced mechanic.Originally posted by Sarvajit View PostChange the carb pin also alongwith the float!
Thanks for your tips bala_racing & Sarvajit... I will try to get the needful done.

Hi,
I am planning to change the swing arm for my 2000 Fiero....
If i am changing the swing arm, what all things i will have to take care and
what all i will have to change.(change will be done by a mechanic).
1. Which bike swing arm can i use? Fiero F2/FX, Victor GLX??
2. Will the existing chain cover fit with the new one?
3. Will the chain , Sporocket have to be changed?(i hope chain have to be replaced with longer one(dont now) and hence sprocket too?
i am only a learner in bike mechanics. So please suggest.
My bike does well aprt from some engine noise. I hope reboring will do good.Bike has done 59000 km. It is a virgin engine. Will it give the same butter smooth style even after the reboring???
Kindly put your suggestions please.

@remortr you can get all the plastics for Fiero. I am from chenai. I recently changed my tail piece, headlight dome, and the schoops. I see that your bike is black and so it is easy to get. For Red i found it difficult to get from chennai. I dont know whether the case is same for everyone.
Why are you changing the Fiero Wiring? for self start need.?

Yes you can. I had the victors swing arm, right now using the GLX one. The F2/FX swing arm will be too long, for which you will have to change the rear wheel to a 17 inch one else it will hit the rear mud flap.
2. Will the existing chain cover fit with the new one?
No, you cannot use the existing chain cover, you will have to change depending on which bikes swing arm u r planning to use.
3. Will the chain , Sporocket have to be changed?(i hope chain have to be replaced with longer one(dont now) and hence sprocket too?
You can add a few links, but not advisable, simply go for a new one.
Kindly put your suggestions please.

@Remortr : dear i planned to change the swing arm coz in needed more stability on my bike. I cam to that it it is done the ride quality and braking also can be improved. Suziki Fiero is having a short Swing arm, right. And so that too affects the wait balance, i suppose. That is teh main thing that is affecting the rear braking. I used to drive pretty fast mostly in 70 to 95(not able to reach hundred these days) Since i travel a pretty good distance through the OMR (straight stretch), i can feel the instability verymuch on full throtle. And with pillion rider it is a bit difficult in the chennai traffic. I also have a plan to increase the rear height.Originally posted by nav75 View PostTried to go this way and can tell you that Victor swing arm is not a straight fit on Fiero.
@Nav : Not a straight fit. Then what all should i alter dear.
Should there be any change made for the static end of the swing arm.
thanks in advance...

No idea what all needs to be changed as I dumped the idea of fitting the swing arm and stick to the stock one.Originally posted by vinoopfredy View Post@Nav : Not a straight fit. Then what all should i alter dear.
