That would be perfect,3k kms oil and filter change is quite safe,though fiero can run for close to 6 or 7k without oil change or servicing or for that matter attention of any kind.

There are only advantages in going for 3.00/18 stock set up with your wider rim. Go for it.

I think I will be the 1st one in xbhp to go for lower profile tyre in higher profile rim

, I will need a 3.00x18 tyre just to check once before going in for a brand new tyre..

I still have the original stock tvs 3.00 18 with me ,which i had changed after just 10k kms as it had started to wobble while cornering.So it won't help you much.Just go to a puncture guy and ask him about the rim,you'll get the right answers there.

I posted sometime back that i needed a new set of tires and got quite a bit of info on the same. Thanks for the tips.

So i contacted Sai Iyengar & Sons in blore (Lalbagh rd) and he said the Michelin M45 is available in 2.75/18 for the front while the rear tire is available in 3.00/18 or 4.00/18. 3.25/18 is not available as it has been discontinued. The shop guy asked me to go for 4.00/18 in the rear wheel and said it will have no issues. He even asked me to take a trial and return it if i am unhappy.

Please let me know if upgrading the rear to 4.00/18 has any issues with handling / balance / grip levels / cornering etc. The front will be the stock size - 2.75/18. Oh yeah, the bike is a suzuki fiero 2001 model.

Good thing, I just wanted to see how does the 3.00/18 fits on to 100/90 sized rim, If u do not mind can I just use it for couple of days & return it back to you after checking it for breifly

I have a 2.75x18 & not 3.00-18 to Check

& about the Puncture guy, I can but it is better to see it 1st hand also along with their opinion

I have been using 100/90/18 and so is abhilash and your bike can pull it,from what i remember going through the tyre thread,the 4.00 18 will be a very slightly bigger than 100/90/18.

We all are thinking of going back to stock 3.00 18 .As a wider tyre means ,drop in top-end, heavier feel in handling,less mileage,less chain-sprocket life and more stress on the engine as the tyre will be heavier.But it's diff with michelin pilot sport.

My bike can easily pull a heavier tyre than 100/90/18 in the big bore set up.But i too will switch back to stock.

I have the same thoughts as gixxer mentioned below & I am running on 100/90-18 for as long as 35k kms now & it surely does make handling better with more contact patch.

But I feel for fiero it is best to stick to 3.00x18 or max 3.50x18 since thier aint much space in between swing arm to go for bigger tyres & secondly removing the wheel in case of puncture becomes a pain in the A$$ with bigger tyres.

In my opinion better stick to stock or max 3.50x18 & else mileage will go down along with chain sprocket life

Will stick to stock sizes if the 3.25X18 size is not available for the rear. Planning on gettin these new shoes for my ride on friday.

Ya bro, the bike's got to climb like a mountain goat. Pulling power and torque is more important more often here than top speed. Specially with badly maintained roads it's even worse. So I guess a 13T front is ok. I could experiment with a Crux 14T and see how it feels since it is not expensive.

The mountains have their ups and downs along with gentler curves... and the valleys have their depths to descend

Thought I saw a Jumbo TVS 3.00 x 18 on some bike some time back... it was slightly wider than our stock tyre.

That is not the correct rim size.
The rim sizes for Fiero F2 are 1.6" front&1.85" rear.
CBZ Classic&most of the newer bikes have 1.85" front&2.15 rear.
Do check what spec.tyre the Classic 180 came with.
If you ask a tyre/wheel alignment shop guy, he will say he can put any tyre as long as it is an 18"!

Fiero F2 does not have the kind of top-end that Suzuki Fiero has-its max company claimed topspeed is 100kmph (105 on speedo with error). So how much do you expect the cruising speed to be?

Don't think about upgrading size, we all are reverting to stock spec for better accelaration&mileage.
Go for Sirac Street 3.00*18" rear&enjoy best of both worlds.
