That was the same case with 100/90 in my CBZ, I used to get full power of it only when I get past 5k rpm & in lower revs it looks very dull, I am ok with it since I need more light only in highway & most of the time in highway we are in high rpm's

Mine is stock bulb, thought of going for Halogen, anyhow I am going for new bulb so thought of directly going to 55/60w Instead of 35W.

What is your take on reflector ? Will it suffice the heat generated by 55W bulb ?

Thanks for confirming about the suspension, will get it set harder.

Also thanks for confirming about the mileage
As you have seen,my bike has pulsar classic's headlight and it's been the same since a long time,so yes i think the reflector should hold out.Why don't you replace it with the ambition headlight assembly ,which you already have with you?

Put the rear shox at the hardest setting and if it still bottoms out. Then you can get the shox reconditioned at JC road.

Thanks, Yes I know you have Classic Pulsar headlight.

I have Fiero FX/ Star City Headlight set ( not sure which one) & I want to keep the bike looks as stock as possible, dnt know why I have started to like Fiero stock doom

Coming to Suspension , will get it done with the mech & see what difference it makes

Temple is very beautiful no wonder, Specially the mantap part which is purely built in Gold & Goddess Lakshmi is a treat to watch

No pictures, Sadly they won't allow camera/mobile inside the temple premises.

Only one thing which I didn't like the attitude of the temple workers with which they treated us ( piligrims)

I do not know much of engine related stuff, the piston ring seems to have lot of carbon deposits ( looks full black ) on top.

May be you need decarbonizing done as you have already opened up the engine & One more thing since you have already opened the engine, why don't you go for RTR 160/180 block to make the bike to 180cc, @gixxer told me that it is a direct fit & nothing much to be changed, you will get a bigger engine with better top speed

Slightly off topic - I see you have Gas charged shocks which is fit upside down, which bikes are those & how good will you rate them compared to stock ? & lastly how much is the price ?

What exactly is decarbonizing. i could see carbon deposits only on top of the piston. how much does a 160/180 bore cost? wont it reduce the mileage?

                      Buddy,the work needed seems minimal.

                      1. The piston and bore seems to be okay.As oil doesn't seem to be going past the rings.

                      2. Oil is entering through the valve train,Hence the head is taken to lathe by your mech for work.Which you will know about when it comes back.

3.The bore/sleeve has lot of life left in it.

4.No need to go for a new bore kit of fiero/RTR.

That is one big sigh of relief. i really wonder how you figured that out. the mech said the same thing and thats the reason why the bike wouldnt idle. i just hope all is well after this. going to check the bike as he said its already ready and has been checking it since this morning. could this have been a manufacture defect right from start?

Now that the Doctor has commented I am sure thier is no need for decarbonising

& just with a pic you seem to come to conclusion what is the probelm & solution for it, way to go bro.. I just hope I can learn some good things from you about the fiero engine in the coming days.

                          • Happy New Year Everybody!!!

                            Gixxer bro,
I have a small query for you.

My bike is ok at the moment.... but it just feels sluggish sometimes... I guess it's the cold weather that's to blame, but still the bike feels sluggish... specially in the mornings. Well that's ok, but the bike tends to be bellowing white smoke... specially when cold-starting in the morning... and the quantity seems to be growing. I am concerned because the bike never behaved like this when stock. I assume all this is happening after the piston change when the engine was opened up.

Could oil be leaking from somewhere and entering the Chamber? the Valve Train?

or is it just unburnt fuel that probably deposits more with colder weather? My relative who is also my neighbor parks his one year old Honda Shine with my bike, and his bike too bellows white smoke. So I guess it could just be unburnt fuel... or is it?!?

The mech says all bikes do that... should I take his word? or is the quality of fuel in my country to blame?

Well that apart, how is everybody?
                            and Where is NANO???

... Bro we need you to be here with us... we need your opinions and expertise. Please forget what happened and start posting here in the Fiero Forum where you belong.

Look at the Piston skirt, and the space between the rings. There is no markings of carbon deposit or compression leakage.

That's not a manufacturing defect buddy, it's because of your riding style.Fiero is not a ZMA or a Bullet it's a old fashioned top-end biased machine. So it needs to be kept in the power-band always, either by revving or by swapping gears. You do that and you won't face any issues with valve guides or seals.

I am no doctor man, i learn't these things from the humble mech i took you to that day. Another thing ,de-carbonizing of his engine will be done at lathe and by the mech .You are right about that.
