    Good news, just came from the mech's ,i had taken abhilashabhi to get his bike checked with the mech and there i got the mech to disconnect the battery from the TCI and the bike starts and runs without any issues.

    @All

    Does that say something?

    I hope now this thing is settled once and for all.

    The mech had been always insisting about TCI also working without a battery,now i found it out for myself.

      Great..and thanks for the quick and specific details and confirmation ....I still have the doubt as to why with a flat battery it did not start while the Apache 150 and RTR does....I think with increased ampere capacity of windings and RR this is possible...Just my thought.

        No abhilashabhi's bike had earthing issue with the bike's key module gone,that's why his bike wasn't starting.

        I would never advise anyone to increase the ampere by coil winding of a classic fiero stator.

        • Gixxer. Thanks a ton. now my next visit to the mech will be on Monday. i believe only the slider costs 900 bucks. still on the lookout for another fiero carb in the junkyard. will the pulsar carb be a direct fit? or what would be the ideal alternative to a stock fiero carb

              No problem buddy, don't change it if it's ok.Get it checked for starters,then if the slide is worn out or if diaphragm is torn etc ,then buy BAJAJ pulsar's slide/diaphragm it's cheaper.Something like 450 Rs.

                  Now that you know it is the Ignition switch you may try turning the switch on/off a few times then try starting...and continue to do so till you change the switch.

                      Tried that already, according to mech now the main ignition switch has no role & connection is direct, I am using the engine kill switch to switch on /off the bike.

                      Anyway will ask the mech tomorow to come to my place & change the Ignition module &

                              I guess the condenser or capacitor which sits next to the fuse box has gone weak,or something's wrong with it ,or the electrical system.

                                I am having problem with my carb and i need to replace it too.Just like you i don't want to spend over 2k on it so i am waiting to get one for cheap.The prob with buying a carb from the junk yard is,you never can know what's wrong with it.For ex my carb's parts are fine yet it's not working.

                                So if you decide to buy a used carb make sure you put it on the bike and see if it runs well before sealing the deal.
