Re: Suzuki Gixxer 155
What's the OTR there?Originally posted by kypa View PostGood news fo prospective buyers of Suzuki at Navi Mumbai. New showroom opened by CG Motors at Kopar Khaine-Sector 2A opposite Hotel Varishthaa.
I had visited the showroom a couple of days back and was surrounded by 7-8 people enquiring about my Gixxer's performance. Even the SVC guys came to enquire as they havent got any information about the bike s performance from any existing owner. The store manager didnt know I own one and started boasting that they are exclusive when it comes for servicing in N Mumbai which I corrected him accordingly
.
Another good thing is they had pretty good stock of gixxers and a one who has the buck can get a gixxer in a day or two(dont go by my words as there were a lot of prospective buyers and stocks can deplete fast). I had to wait for my gixxer for a month
.
The new showroom will give comfort to people in and around N Mumbai given the understanding that the existing showroom at Panvel is winding up.

Re: Suzuki Gixxer 155
Hi all
I have black gixxer and have done 950kms.
I have been following this blog from the start and it was very helpful when I decided to buy gixxer.
I also had hard gear shifts problem.vistied svc couple of times, now the gear shift are ok(not smooth but manageable)
Below are some questions I want to know:
1. When I stop(brake) my bike to still(with engine running) and If i try to neutral it ,I am not able to do it.But at the same position if I kill the engine and try to neutral it,then I am able to. Is it the same for everybody or only me?
2.I have small vibration from the handle bar after I cross 30-35.is it normal?Beacuse i hear everybody sayin in this forum no vibes.does no vibes means as if in how the bike will be stand still state?
thanks
Senthil

Hi Senthil
I've done 1050 kms & my gixxer is exact 1 month old. I had hard gearshift for 1st 10-15 days. Shifting to neutral is ease. I don't feel any vibration at all. But I'm still maintaining sub 4.5k RPM.
Have completed ur 1st service? Check ur clutch ply. Did u maintain 4.5k rpm ? Try to change ur engine oil. Who is ur scv bcoz I'm also from Chennai.Last edited by Dynamo; 03-20-2015, 12:53 PM.Just follow my shadow.

Re: Suzuki Gixxer 155
i am not a gixxer owner but if the oil is SEMI SYNTHETIC 400 is ok also oil filter 31 is okOriginally posted by Hitesh100 View PostGuys, is it normal to get charged for labour charges for chain lubing as per my bill they charged me for that on my 1st free service I though only consumables are charged during free service .
chain lube 79 if they use REGULAR ENGINE OIL then not ok because new 1 liter any good engine oil costs about 250 to 300 !!
if they use any special lube then it might be ok
if you feel that any cost in bill is not genuine ask them to verify in front you !
its better you ask to verify all possible items in bill

This is not an issue with your bike. Happens with all bikesOriginally posted by bsent1909 View Post1. Try this. Suppose your bike is stopped at signal with engine running and in first gear. Release the clutch to the spot where the bike will just start to move and simultaneously move the shifter from 1st to neutral. Ensure bike is in neutral by looking at neutral light and release clutch. Needs bit of practice and patience if you're new rider.

Re: Suzuki Gixxer 155
They charged Rs. 500 for my 1st service a day back. I learned that chain cleaning is totally waste doing in scv bcoz they charged Rs. 140 exclusively for that. Also seen while cleaning, they just use local chain cleaner spray. Next time before service I'm planning to clean the chain by myself & not do by scv.Originally posted by Hitesh100 View PostGuys, is it normal to get charged for labour charges for chain lubing as per my bill they charged me for that on my 1st free service I though only consumables are charged during free service . Re: Suzuki Gixxer 155
I ordered a blue Gixxer and should be getting delivery tomorrow. I'm a complete noob. I've ridden a motorcycle only twice in my life, and that was more that 7 years ago.
I have a few questions about accessories.
Does this bike need a petrol lock? Has anyone installed one? Can one be installed? How much would a decent one cost, and where can I get it installed in Pune.
And what security solution should I get? I was thinking about getting a padlock or disc brake lock with an alarm. The only one I could find is this: Anti Theft Alarm Lock Motion Sensor Lock Security Waterproof Padlock Bike Lock | eBay
I understand the bike throws a lot of mud, and gets really dirty. Will installing a mud-flap help? And if the rear tyre also throws dirt on the passenger and bike, then will installing a tyre hugger like that on the Yamaha FZ V2 help? Will the Yamaha's tyre hugger fit the Gixxer? And where can I get them installed, in Pune?
Also, while taking delivery, what do I need to check?
I believe I have to:
1) Check the general condition, and look for nicks, dings etc.
2) Check the chassis no, and engine no. and see that it matches the registration. (Will I get an RC book if it's a temporary registration?)
3) Check tyres for wear to see that it's not been used as a test drive vehicle.
4) Check engine oil and brake fluid levels.
5) Check the toolkit (Could anyone post a picture and list of tools included?)
Is there anything I've missed?

Satson's tip was perfect.
I will say that I faced this issue a bit, when the gearbox was a but new (1000-1500), but gradually its smoothened out a lot. Not saying its totally stopped, but very rarely rears its head.
In addition to what satson said in rolling the clutch, move the bike a bit forwards/backwards on the spot, and retry with depressed clutch.
I had difficulty in landing 1st from neutral finding the gear just didnt want to slot in. This worked for me.
