Hmm yes, You are right. I took a copy of the PDI sheet for my Classic 500 and asked them to do it while I was checking. Guess what, the starting motor cord was disconnected. If I had taken the bike for delivery , I would have amputated my leg by now for using the kick-starter.
Damn !!!! few showroom guys are OK to do upon stressing. But like you said, its at the mercy of the customer.
Hello ,
Can anyone help me with PDI . What to check etc . Do we have a excel sheet or any document for it .
I have already insisted dealer to show me bike before sending it for registration .
Thanks

Re: Suzuki Gixxer 155
Though PDI is essential I wonder if most dealers do it esp in Chennai. The attitude of dealers change once you make full payments for the bike and they make you wait like crazy to get delivery in most cases.People get bugged and leave the moment the vehicle is in hand.Other things apart for the better life of battery its advisable that the cold start/first start be using the kicker. How is Gixxer's kicker smooth or you need to keep kicking it many times to start it

Siddharth PDI is a sheet of paper the dealers have with them. Its like a checklist to check and verify if everything is in place and working in order.Unless you insist on it most dealers dont do it.

This is done before registration of bike . Right ? . Also can't we get a copy of that checklist and ask them to do it infront of our eyes .Originally posted by deepakshankar View PostThough PDI is essential I wonder if most dealers do it esp in Chennai.

Thanks for correcting me.Originally posted by paradoxr9019 View PostIt is not a rev limiter.. It is a rev indicator

There was no PDI as such. I went along with my wife and daughter for the delivery. My bike was parked at the entrance gate. I got the bike docs, toolkit, first aid kit, and gate pass in no time. Thanked the sales manager, and rode back home.Originally posted by TheArcher84 View PostNice color you got there bro...
but no worries about the rust on the disk plate...it will eventually vanish upon applying the brakes.
But surprising is, why is this not caught during PDI, not sure if it was done ....All men dream, but not equally. Those that dream at night in the dusty recesses of their minds, wake in the day to find that it was vanity; but the dreamers of the day are dangerous men, for they may act upon their dreams with open eyes, to make it possible. - T. Re: Suzuki Gixxer 155
The first thing done after getting my GS was removing the kicker lever. No cold or other kick start for more than 41,000 kms and about 5 years and I haven't faced even a single problem due to electric starts. The first battery lasted for more than 3.5 years. So I don’t think kick starting is a must.Originally posted by deepakshankar View PostOther things apart for the better life of battery its advisable that the cold start/first start be using the kicker.

Yeah right... Even same applies to my Karizma R which i used for 5.5 yrs. ... I used self start 99.9% & the bike started without issues... I don't remember using a kick startOriginally posted by punarvasu View PostThe first thing done after getting my GS was removing the kicker lever. Its a safety measure nothing more. Meaning you don't need to kick start, it doesn't change anything but if you do it then its safer. Best to kick start once or twice every 500kms or so to keep the kick ratchet from malfunctioning.

If anyone wants the video please send a PM, I am not sure if I am allowed to post my channel videos here, might be against forum rules.Originally posted by giridhar View PostHad a chance to ride my friend's bike few days bike, its an awesome machine guys, I would choose it over other bike in its class if the A.S.S turns out to be good enough. We made a small exhaust note and fly-by clip, couldn't make full review since it was diwali and had to return the bike quickly. I will post the video soon.Biker @ heart

Re: Suzuki Gixxer 155
Guys today I took my Bike for service and When i got my bike back I asked them which Engine oil did they put into my Bike...
And there was shocking reply then..
They put 10w30 scooter engine oil in my Bike. When i asked them that Suzuki is providing special oil for gixxer 10w40 then they told that they haven't received it yet....
Now I have several questions regarding that...
I got it serviced from Ring Road suzuki service center,Peera Garhi,Delhi.
IS 10w30 scooter oil suitable enough for Gixxer?
What should i do now if i have got my into this problem?
Will there be any performance and mileage problem for me with this oil?
Please help me Guys..
and please also tell me if there is any big difference b/w two?Last edited by livingsoul; 10-28-2014, 06:48 PM.Don't be Sad about people,They'll die anyway!

Re: Suzuki Gixxer 155
Scooter oil isn't meant for our bikes (wet clutch), drain the oil and fill in with a JASO MA/MA2 certified oil.Originally posted by livingsoul View PostGuys today I took my Bike for service and When i got my bike back I asked them which Engine oil did they put into my Bike...

Send a complaint to Suzuki about this and claim warranty immediately. Scooter oil is of a different grade than motorcycle oil. You can't use scooter oil in a bike. Take these lousy thieves to task bro.
