    i have some doubts also
i cud not found premium petrol, so its normal petrol only for fust time, will it effect in anyway?
and i did not get the manuals and service booklet today, will i get it along with all the papers ?

    Congrats on ur new bike!

There is no need to use premium petrol for our bikes with relatively small engine capacity and lower compression ratio. Normal petrol will do fine and you will not notice any difference even if you use premium petrol. But just for your satisfaction you can try it out once :P though it will be a waste of money.

You should get the manual etc along with the papers, if not then ask for it :P

The papers you are refering to manual should have been handed to you by the dealer at the time of delivery.Only the Registration Certificate/Smart card takes more than a month. If your dealer did not give you owners manual original insurance papers lifetax papers you ask him for them and did you get a delivery challan or DC as it maybe needed till the RC arrives.Incase I have left out other documents others may fill in.With regard to normal or premium petrol makes no difference except for xtra few rupees you spend per litre.Choose a bunk which gives you decent petrol in the right quantity. The reason i choose word decent was there is unadulterated petrol in market every bunk does some jugad.

Congrats for your new bike dude..Premium petrol is not good for bikes with normal compression ratio(9:1). It's meant for specially designed, high compression(11:1) engines which are capable of using it. Also, I read somewhere on internet that it's additives could damage the engine in the long run due to engine heat. Go with good quality normal petrol. Its way better and cheaper.. Ride safe.. And ride the bike soft during run in phase..

There is a reason for it too if you look at good bike in 150 segment your options are limited Honda Unicorn Yamaha Fz fazer and gixxer from suzuki. When a new biker picks a bike its about how new and stylish it looks. As of now only Gixxer fits the bracket.Comments and many sites give this bike a big Thumbs up.I have not included pulsar series as its too old for comparing now and from what I heard the engines are not as good as they used to be.Any new bike needs to be atleast 6 months old to know the issues that pop from it hope suzuku keeps it to minimal in gixxer fingers crossed.Bike building is a evolving process and on going process as they run and issues if any pop up they are worked on to make the machine more better.Lets hope Gixxer stays as good it is now

Did you not get another alternative for it??
You could have asked for foldable ones that are found in scooters...
The front guard and this footrest were the only available accessories for gixxer at their showroom. I personally don't have a liking for foldable footrests.

Up on reaching home, I noticed that the right-turn indicator signal on the instrument panel was blinking
faster compared to the left one. Found that the front right indicator was not working. Got it fixed at
the SVC this morning (some loose connection, I was told).

While inspecting the bike yesterday, I found a couple of issues that did raise my eyebrows:

                      1. The rev indicator was turned off. I followed the instructions in the manual to turn it on and
found that it was preset at 7k rpm. Wonder why it was set to 7k for a new bike. I just hope the
technician did not turn it off while taking the bike to the RTO (to ride fast). Anyways, I have set it to
4k. The SVC told me that they usually preset it to 4.5k before delivery, but was not done in my case.

                      2. I could notice some rust marks (see image below) accumulated on the disc plate. I confronted this with
the SVC guys and they told me that it was due to the rain and the bike lying unused for some time. They
told that these marks would vanish with usage.

All men dream, but not equally. Those that dream at night in the dusty recesses of their minds, wake in the day to find that it was vanity; but the dreamers of the day are dangerous men, for they may act upon their dreams with open eyes, to make it possible. - T. E. Lawrence

It is not a rev limiter.. It is a rev indicator
                        Don't worry about the setting
The picture did not load on my mobile .. But from my experience, rust on the disk plate would wear off on usage due to friction between the brake pads so that is nothing to worry as well.
Unless you have a huge chunk of rust that is preventing the bike from moving forward.. lol

Nice color you got there bro...
but no worries about the rust on the disk plate...it will eventually vanish upon applying the brakes.

But surprising is, why is this not caught during PDI, not sure if it was done ....

These days PDI isn't common in most places especially in metro cities.. They assume the customer will do the inspection.

Hmm yes, You are right. I took a copy of the PDI sheet for my Classic 500 and asked them to do it while I was checking. Guess what, the starting motor cord was disconnected. If I had taken the bike for delivery , I would have amputated my leg by now for using the kick-starter.

Damn !!!! few showroom guys are OK to do upon stressing. But like you said, its at the mercy of the customer.

LoL. I could imagine such a situation.. Kicking kicking and kicking.. Hell still kicking and the bike doesn't start.. and pushing that huge bike is like a walk on fire.. my ZMR with tank full was too difficult to push for me.. I had to push my bike for more than 5 kms once when I bought it.. that too in Noida late night around 2 AM.. thanks to the so called PDI which risked my life and my wife aka My bike.. upon inspecting after facing this issue for more than 2 months, we came to know it was a loose ignition coil wire...
