The only problem will be that your brake pads will worn off quickly due to the continuous friction. If it is severe like in my case, then there will be considerable drop of pickup.

hi guys, met with an accident 2 hours ago. Panic braking, front tyre skidded bike headlight & front mudguard gone, though was not at high speed appx 45 kmph but because of road side big stone the front plastics took the brunt of collusion .luckily I was wearing full face helmet which saved my cheeks from scraping the asphalt road & was wearing safety gloves which saved my palms . Only my knee got injured and my back having some pain. Going to have a good scolding in the morning from my parents.Typing while having hot water bag over my waist & dressing over my knee.

Now can any one explain me the process of getting insurance claim for the head light & mudguard ,I have ICICI insurance.

You may have to call icici toll free number and claim insurance. They will give you a claim number. Also they will assign a surveyor for your vehicle.
You can go to any suzuki service centre..the surveyor will come there and have a look at your bike and the service centre will proceed with the repairs

Back to the forum after a long time. Almost a year since i bought my gixxy. A couple of months ago had a small crash and due to that the exhaust got pushed towards the bike. SVC guys mentioned that welding had to be done to fix it. But right now it wont cause any issues so they asked me to just ignore it. Wanted the public opinion on this.

Next they could never solve my vibration issue. Its there on the right side of the bike. Very subtle when driven below 5k rpm but increases when i cross 5k rpm. How to resolve this?

Lastly, when driven in rain or some water and if discs get wet brakes dont apply. Full reliant on back brakes. So getting a double disc brake is good or bad?

This is really Frustrating after sales service provided by SUZUKI . I went to the the Dehradun's only ASC for accidental repair after by headlight & mudguard broke and the service engineer without looking at the bike said that don't have spare parts available for the bike ,come back after 15-20 days . This was his same words when I went for Oil leak issue last time, that they don't have the required part with them but i was able to solve that problem on my own then.

I called my policy surveyor he too confirmed this issue with gixxer bikes that showroom people wont get done any thing before 1 month as they never keep any spare parts with them. I am screwed now I wonder why I bought this bike instead of HONDA or BAJAJ at least I would have got there parts easily

Bro, there is a customer care for suzuki motorcycle. Just write to them with the showroom name and your issue. For sure they will call you back and resolve your issue.
I like their customer service response.

There is no such problem with bybre as i seen from last 7years (yamaha Gladiator also has same break setup).
                          Looks kind of new issue...

                            Hello guys,
I am planning to change my rear tyre. It got punctured a few times & now the air leaks from the spots where the puncture had occurred. Due to this I keep loosing 4-5 PSI every 4-5 days. I asked the technician & he told me that patch work will have to done from inside to permanently solve the problem. This may cause balancing issues, hence I am thinking of replacing the rear tyre once & for all. I am planning to install Michelin Pilot street Radial, link given below:

Michelin Pilot Street Radial | Michelin

This tyre is good for regular use, touring, cornering (some extent) & some off roading as well. Basically jack of all.
Only problem is that its size is 140/70 & not 140/60 which is the original size of MRF tyres of gixxer.
Can anybody guide whether 140/70 can be installed on gixxer rim or whether it will cause issues:
                            Thanks!

It fits perfectly on the rim. The height of the rear goes up a little and as a result the ground clearance is a little higher. Absolutely no loss in acceleration felt. Speed and odo readings are affected though, from what I observed there's a deficit of 2kms on the odo for every 22kms travelled.

Did you change the tyre soon after taking delivery or what!!
BTW!! Your bike's rear is looking fantastic with that beefy tyre
