Bro its not about meter reading... I said that thing depends on fuel bars... Look in a full tank, i did a murthal trip which is 130kms from my home... And just one fuel bar is gone... Thats why I'm told that...Originally posted by Sird View PostBhai meter reading is always false.

Re: KTM RC 390 Ownership Experience
The meter reading is not 'false' per se. It takes a few min/km for it show a reasonable figure. And this reasonable figure is off by around 5%, also you should remember that the mileage readout is for that particular stint/trip and not overall mileage. Example, if you go from point A to B which are 1km apart and then see the reading it will be very low.. i.e. it hasn't had enough running time/data to give a realistic number. But if you ride say around 10km you will get a reasonable readout that is more accurate.Originally posted by Pawan Kajla View PostBro its not about meter reading... Now coming to those fuel indicator bars.. again they are just a visual indication and on a tankful and when on a continuous long ride, the first bar usually drops only at about 100km , so that doesn't mean you get a FE of 100km/litre.. In your case, after the long ride you can take the mileage readout from console as a reference (which is around 5% more than actual mileage in most cases), So as you pointed you might have very well got a FE of ~35 when you rode at 80-100 consistently.
If you want to know the more accurate FE your bike returns in everyday use, then follow the tankful to tankful method to calculate FE.Last edited by s1d; 11-21-2016, 04:16 PM.

Hi Kaushik, I think this is a novel idea. But i am not really sure on how will your frame sliders will serve the purpose of a frame slider. A fall from low speeds or even standstill might involve warping of the fairing attachment point, which will make it a hassle to put on a new fairing. The door buffer might itself cause the fairing to break. This is the reason frame sliders are mounted to the chassis or engine mounts. With respect to high speed falls, there is no consensus on whether frame sliders are good or bad.

A fall from low speeds or standstill will affect more on clutch/brake lever and gear/brake pedal than fairing. In my two falls (standstill) fairing is scratchless.Originally posted by khaosavz View PostHi Kaushik, I think this is a novel idea. Yeah, but with these door buffers sticking out, wont the door buffers come in contact with the ground first and warp the fairing attachment and crack the fairing?Originally posted by nilesh9777 View PostA fall from low speeds or standstill will affect more on clutch/brake lever and gear/brake pedal than fairing. Thanks bro.May be it is not that much good.but only for 100rs it will do some work. And it is not resting on side pannel. It is resting on frame(little black one)which holding the pannel.Originally posted by khaosavz View PostHi Kaushik, I think this is a novel idea. Re: KTM RC 390 Ownership Experience
Nice illustrations. I understand that it is inexpensive. However, i would not like to break my fairing because of this. Here are my concerns : 1. The little black thing is not the frame but the fairing mounting bracket. It is not as sturdy as the frame. It can warp or break, thus breaking the fairing. 2. The bolt used is probably too thin to handle an impact. It might break and the door buffer might come apart and damage the fairing. Personally, i think its safer not to do this mod.Originally posted by kaushik12041985 View PostThanks bro.May be it is not that much good.but only for 100rs it will do some work. And it is not resting on side pannel. It is resting on frame(little black one)which holding the pannel.

Re: KTM RC 390 Ownership Experience
Hey guys,
So after completing 1000 kms on my RC 390...I gave the bike for first service in KTM Banshankari.
The bill came up to ₹1815/-.
When I was taking I noticed that the battery cover on the fuel tank was literally moving. After pointing it out he fit in some double sided tape and rectified it. The problem started after the first service.. the front part of the bike was vibrating too much and the bike was heating up too quickly.
Now I had to leave the bike again at SVC, I chose to leave it at Auto service which is authorised by KTM since KTM Banashankari is a bit far.
Now again I have to pay 900 bucks for this... Although KTM Banashankari people tell that I don't need to pay even a single rupee to auto service people, auto service guys say I have to.
Had a horrible experience at KTM Banashankari.

For what?Originally posted by Rahul.V. View PostNow again I have to pay 900 bucks for this...
Doesn't make any sense, your bike is under warranty and such issues should be taken care of for free (apart from routine consumable spares costs like fluids). Ask Auto Service for a bill and explanation on the charges. I thought auto service was one of the more sensible/reliable service center in bangalore.
Also shoot an email to [email protected] explaining politely in brief this issue.
You can also fill up the complaint form online http://callcentermanagement.excellon....aspx?type=KTM

Well I ended up paying only 8 bucks for some rubber washer, but still there is still vibration from the DRL's, guess I'll only have to rectify it.
