that is the ABS kicking in when you feel the brake pedal fluttering, that's how ABS works. When you press harder, the rear wheel tries to avoid a lock up, so it varies the brake pedal pressure by release and braking automatically by itself, so you feel, in your words " broke and made sound as if something broke". Absolutely normal.
Cheers!

Once upon a time, a guy asked a girl 'Will you marry me?'
The girl said, 'NO!'
And the guy lived happily ever after and rode motorcycles and watched sport on a big screen TV, went fishing and surfing, and played golf a lot, and drank beer and scotch and had tons of money in the bank and left the toilet seat up and farted whenever he wanted.
THE END

Re: KTM RC 390 Ownership Experience
So you're completely unaware of the awesomeness of ABS our bikes have and their usage. You should go and spend 20-30 min for the ABS understanding and fun.Originally posted by Rahul.V. View PostHey guys,

On a good and empty road, at around 50-60kmph press the rear brakes harder and see how it works. Then after few attempts do the same at 80-90 but all this on an empty stretch of road.
It's very important to understand how the bike will behave with ABS in an emergency situation.
Remember those tyre skids and marks on road other bikes does? KTM RC does nothing like that :P
Also, while using ABS you will feel jerk in your rear brake level to your leg and from the front brake lever to your right hand. Like you're pressing it and it's kicking back, just don't stop braking.First I was Scared But then We Made a Deal

It's time that experience these things properly.
I only knew how ABS works on paper but had never experienced it on a bike.
Thanks brother!
Ride safe!

Re: KTM RC 390 Ownership Experience
My bike's front HSRP number plate has broken and I need to get a new one. I was told by the dealer that I need to file an FIR first and then go to the RTO to get a new HSRP. Is that true? Just want to avoid cops unless it's necessary.

Yes that's true.Originally posted by hss View PostMy bike's front HSRP number plate has broken and I need to get a new one. I was told by the dealer that I need to file an FIR first and then go to the RTO to get a new HSRP. Is that true? Just want to avoid cops unless it's necessary.
After getting the FIR, get it xerox'd and then approach your RTO. They will charge some 25₹ or maybe 100₹ and you'll get new plate in few days.First I was Scared But then We Made a Deal

Instead of this its better to get any numberplate at bike/car shops.Originally posted by Sird View PostYes that's true.

Yes. But his concern is about the HSRP plate + in few states (mostly south) cops can argue over this issue and can charge you also if you don't have this High security plate.Originally posted by nilesh9777 View PostInstead of this its better to get any numberplate at bike/car shops.
But no on one bats an eye about this in Mumbai & Delhi at least.
(I don't have any number plate, I mean literally no registration number on bike from last 1 month and I'm daily doing my 40-70km around city. Good luck eh? )First I was Scared But then We Made a Deal

Yes Thats what I want to point out, that people are driving without number plate or broken one or with fancy number unable to identify.
then its good enough if you use a normal number plate having RTO approved font instead of HSRP if broken.

Re: KTM RC 390 Ownership Experience
That's pretty much illegal to do so. The reason the cops insist on a visible plate is so that they can note down your registration in case of a hit and run (most cases).Originally posted by Sird View PostYes. Re: KTM RC 390 Ownership Experience
Hi,Originally posted by rawat97 View PostHi friends
Need some advice for the resale value of RC390 .
I got my RC390 in Nov14 but soon i travelled out of country and now it is rarely used like 70-80 km in a month ,my friend who is using it is also travelling out of country so unfortunately i need to sell her off...IT is in pristine condition ,scratchless, 3000km ridden, serviced as per schedule and insured till nov 17 .It also has very high quality ASIC based HID installed which cost me 5500 INR with softer clutch (used a part to do so i have mentioned about that in the forum earlier). Also want to mention it is never abused so engine is in a very good condition.
Can I ask fellow member to advise who have idea around it how much resale value i should expect .
Cheers
Its late I think.
Launch price of Dominor 400 has ruined resale values of most of the 300-400 cc category bikes.
Who will buy 2-3 year's old bikes for 1.5 - 2.5 lakhs, if they are getting new dominor for same price with peace of mind and some low performance.
So if you plan to sell rc, do it immediately before number of potential buyers get reduced. Regarding price I think you can expect around 1.5 -1.7 lakhs.
Even I was thinking to switch from rc to dominor but rc is my first bike and I am happy with what she is delivering. My most of the traveling is on highways where rc is the king

Re: KTM RC 390 Ownership Experience
>> so many have tries this combination just google it and you will find couple of youtube videos also. All are saying its good except wet/rain riding and extreme cornering.Originally posted by Joy Sarkar View Postwhat's the approx life of the front Metzeler tyre ?

did any one tried Michelin pilot at the back and Metzeler at the front combo ? how is the feedback?
