Relay is necessary and specially for these horns.
Relay's work would be to maintain the current flow, while not overloading the battery and maintaining horn sound and watts on the other side.

    So relay is Must!

          Engine light remaining on

Did an oil/airfilter/fuel filter change but as I had dropped a nut I had to disconnect the map/air temperature loom plug to get to it. After refitting everything the bike is starting normally but the yellow engine (mil) light is remaining on continuosly.
Engine is starting normally but I haven't ridden the bike.
Any ideas what I should be looking for?
          Thanks guys

Are you sure it was the tmap connection and not the throttle position sensor? both these are present on the throttle body.
Anyway, please head to the svc and have them connect their diag tool and check the error and fix/clear it.
You can also try to get the 'blink' code yourself by following the steps outlined on pg 11 here > https://www.dropbox.com/s/d4ld3kqno9...SSM_902_EN.pdf
And correlate with the information here >> https://www.manualslib.com/manual/10...age=167#manual

              No need to re-flash anything.

There are no blink codes. Only a steady mil light remaining on. And it was the tmap connection as I was having the appropriate blink codes when I had disconnected and forgotten to reconnect initially.

just a thought and you can give a try.
Disconnect battery terminals for 5 minutes and then reconnect. Then start bike and let her get idel for 10 minutes, may ECU recalibrate and recheck sensors.

Thanks. That's what was thinking of doing. In fact have taken the battery out yesterday as I have removed the tank to recheck all the connections.

Thank you for posting the pictures. Is your air box having a leak? I see, oil residue stains near your airbox breather pipe.

If the light is blinking or steady even after the motorcycle is cranked, it's recorded an error/fault code in the ECU. Try erasing the error code at the SVC it's hardly a 15 minute job. But before that, make sure all the wiring clips are fastened properly. Sometimes, these codes just disappear after a battery terminal removal or by their own. But if it doesn't get the error code cleared.

                      Cheers!

It can be due to two reasons, either the clamp holding it is not tight enough, that's one. Secondly, there might be crack in the air box itself, or it's just excess oil blowby. First off, clean the oil splash area with a clean rag, remove the clamp and tube, wipe the area clean and put them back observe, ride for a couple of days, if you find leak, change the clamp or hose.

Secondly air filter crack looks something like this. Only it will happen slowly and gradually get worse.

For now just keep observing after cleaning the area with a good clean rag.

See, this your pic, I've marked in red circle, your valve cover too leaks significant amount of oil, you can see the oil stains left behind. Get this rectified whenever you can, as it can progressively lead to oil leak without you knowing and eventually reduced oil level over time. You can solve this by replacing the head cover gasket, removing the head cover, applying the sealant and then tightening it to the proper torque.

                          Cheers!

Yaa i knew it, my gasket is leaking... And its in warranty bt my SVC doesn't have it in stock... So when they have stock then they replace it for free.

Hello fellow RC390 riders! Been riding an R15 for 4yrs and just recently bought an RC390.

Fantastic bike! I got no issues at all so far. But, the only thing i want to improve are the brakes. I am used to using one finger for braking and there just isn't enough stopping power for that. I suppose a proper solution would be getting a different master cylinder or replacing the whole brake system. But, i was wondering if simply changing the pads make the braking lower effort?

How about these. It says it's for the Duke, will it work with the RC390? Has anyone here tried these?

Close your eyes and go with them. I've put the same on my DUke 390 and the braking is way better. It might just lead to a little more rotor wear though. But it's a decent tradeoff according to me.
